    Hey sis can you rank me for Northwestern :)
    Here is some info:
    I have a 3.9 unweighted gpa out of a 4.0 scale. I have a 4.33 weighted gpa on a 5.0 scale.
    My SAT score is 1500.
    I do three extracurriculars: Mock Trial Team, Track and Field, and Debate team. I won a few awards in Debate. I've been doing these activities since sophomore year.
    I have 100 hours of community service - I volunteered at some non-profit organizations that help bring food to those in need. I have also volunteered at our school's annual veteran's day assembly.
    I've also been a tutor at my school since junior year.
    I am applying for an English and Philosophy double major (pre-law schopl).
    I also live in state.
    Does this seem like enough to get possibly get accepted?

      Ariana Grande Hi! Fellow Northwestern admit here. I think you have good stats, and depending on how involved and committed you are to those extra curriculars, your application paints a very good picture of who you are and your story. If you can nail that in your essays, I would say you have a decent shot. It’s a crap shoot.

      @@rakinhussain9476 Thank you so much! Do you have any advice on how to improve my application? Or should I leave it as it is?

      Ariana Grande Are you currently a junior? I would see how you can take any one of your extra curriculars and take them one step forward to demonstrate your initiative. Initiative is VERY important. I see you do track, I know one of my friends who began a project at school to have students donate shoes for underprivileged athletes in track or in general. I personally started a student philanthropy club that we eventually took to lobby at our state legislature to show my desire to work in policy. Anything you can do to show your initiative and paint a picture of who you are as an application is the key. If you can do that, or find some sort of internship in a legal office, research, work for a political campaign (this is the perfect time to do it, corona virus aside), etc, you’ll be set. Hmu if you have more questions! I’m always an open book.

      Thanks again! I have a few more things I'm planning to add to my application. During the summer, I'm actually aiming to increase my community service hours to around 500 hours. I've also started a fundrasier for an organization that helps with world hunger and have rasied over $1000. On top of that, I've done internships at law firms and have at least 90 hours in them. Do you think this shows initiative?

      Ariana Grande Oh, also! Consider taking an SAT subject test, if you can. It’s optional (and really optional not fake optional) but if you think you can land 750+ on a couple then it’s really good for your app. NU tends to really look highly upon good test scores that confirm your performance. Also, make sure to nail the NU writing supplement. This means, do hecka research on all the reasons you want to go there, including specific opportunities you want to take advantage of. I’m not 100% sure but I think they track demonstrated interest so visit if you can, email professors and admissions officers if you can’t so they have your name in the data base. It is very important that your supplement is very specific about why you would like to go. This is just a life tip, but I recommend starting on your college essays ASAP. It will save you so much time and set aside some to actually research your colleges. Good luck!

    hey, I have a 3.2uw/4.3w, I took mostly all honors classes, I’m in 2 clubs, have 2 leadership positions, had a summer job, have a lot of community service(300+ hours), and did an internship, do you think I have a chance for Howard?

    does Howard go by weighted or unweighted gpa?

    • @annasara.m
      @annasara.m  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure but I wouldn’t worry about the difference. I think a lot of schools go by both or weighted though.
