Girl it was a horrible year for UC acceptances. I had a very high SAT and a 3.8 GPA, but I got waitlisted at UCSC and rejected at all the other UC’s I applied too.
@@msantiago2101 It depends on what scale her school uses or whatever, her gpa may be on a 4.0 scale making anything higher than a 4.0 pretty impossible.

If u still rly wanna go to a UC, just go to a CCC and transfer after 1 yr. I did that and just got my acceptance to UCSB (waiting on others). The UCs are super competitive but if u transfer from a CCC it saves money and u have a way better chance! Good luck :)
Joly Shehata well i did have over 11 ap exams that I passed so it made it a lot easier to do. If you dont already have a lot of college credits it may take 2 years, but CCC is way easier to keep a high gpa and as long as ur college gpa is over 3.5 and ur not going into business or computer science- you should have no problem! :)
Digital Diablo yeah computer science will always have the highest avg gpa and most ec. For UCB the admit rate for compsci as a transfer was like 11%, which is still better than the 4.8% admit rate for business (rip bc im a bus major).

Then with that mark, we just can see where can we study (cause every university has like a deadline). It was kinda interesting to see that process idk it's cool to see how u do it there. I got waitlisted to like all the uc I applied to (ucsb,ucsd and cal poly slo) and rejected from ucla too I didn't know what I was going to do with my life but my dream school has been uci and then next day I got admitted to I was so happy! I got into cal poly pomona, csuf, csudh, csun, UCR, UCI, UC Davis, waitlisted at Santa barbara and UCLA and rejected from berkeley, to most that might sound impressive but its honestly shocking i only had a 1210 and a 4.0 and not many ECs and my personal insights were decent lol im suprised but I will be submitting my SIR for UCI and hoping the best for UCLA but if i get rejected i guess ill see you at UCI :) congrats
oh my god honey please don’t be upset about UCLA! the drop of your shoulders at 7:38 was so sad omg everything works out for a reason and while you may not be able to go to some of the UCs now, you can always try again as a transfer! thats how i did it (i took about a year and a half of gen ed at a community college and the school im at now took them and i got credit) so there are always options and other ways to get in! there are always other options and other routes to take!!
Being waitlisted is actually a good thing because you are in the top numbers of the admissions to that specific college/university so you must be happy about it 🤗 *that's how I'm seeing it though! I'm a positive person what to say?! 😂

The schools you got into are easier to get into than Davis. Four years ago when I was a high school senior, I got into UCR, UCM, and UCSC. I dont remember getting into UCD and UCI.
MegaAirplanelover no you can look at the updated acceptance rates for 2018 since it’s the most updated UCLA was a 12% acceptance rate for california residents as of 2018 & it gets more selective every year. UCI was a 28.8% in 2018. & I got a full ride. Csulb was only a 29% acceptance rate in 2018. UCD had a 38% acceptance rate in 2018 , it’s a lot easier to get into. Almost everyone got into UCD.
MegaAirplanelover Also UCM is the easiest UC to get into given that is the newest UC & if all UC’s deny you, but you’re UC eligible, they’ll admit you.

Sonia Cervantes if you’re a super strong applicant, UC’s usually give up you, so you can get into more prestigious colleges to give chances to other students. That’s why u got into Berkeley most likely.

That GPA is very low for a UC. Most people I know who got accepted into them had higher 4.2+

I got rejected from UCLA and UCSB and i had the exact reaction for those. Cried myself to sleep and woke up to an acceptance from UCI (: going there this fall! I got my UCR acceptance a week later (:

hey congrats on uci! i feel you about ucla i got rejected from upenn which was my dream school after pomona (which i applied early to and got rejected) but you know you gotta work with what you got!
omg uc admissions were kinda wack this year but congrats on irvine!! i only got accepted to irvine and riverside then got rejected to the other three i applied to LOL but i also committed to irvine, so hope to see you there :)

Sonia Cervantes if you’re a super strong applicant, UC’s usually give up you, so you can get into more prestigious colleges to give chances to other students. That’s why u got into Berkeley most likely.

I got into the 4 UC schools I applied to (USB, UCLA, UCD, UCSD) and I got rejected from almost all my private’s... I was sure I was going to have to pick between UCLA & UCB and I was grateful but a bit disappointed because I wanted to attend a private (Financial aid is better @privates) I almost forgot about Stanford because umm it’s like impossible to get in and I wasn’t even going to check it and then I see my status update & bang I get in 😭 like how did oxy, usc, Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Bowdoin.., they all rejected me and Stanford accepted me STILL IN SHOCK
I kinda just wanna apply to a bunch of other schools even if I don’t really want to go to them just so I feel a bit happy when Ik I get rejected from my dream schools. But then again I don’t rlly wanna write 20 essays for college or more
