An original orchestral composition recorded, mixed and mastered at Dreamweaver Studios. Follow me on Twitter @Andoran_
I was starting to learn the new lore for Everquest Next when I happened upon the book "The Last Stand of the Tier'Dal" by Maxwell Alexander Drake. It's a great read and I highly recommend downloading it at Everquestnext.com. I loved the entire book, but the first part of the book spoke to me especially, and I felt my muse stir and began composing music to express the emotions I felt as I read it.
I had also had many requests to include some performance footage in my projects, so I did a bit of research and purchased video editing software that would allow me to do multiple picture in picture videos for the different parts of the orchestral score.
I didn't show every single instrument part at once as that would have covered the whole screen, but I did cover most the parts through the course of the entire video.
I apologize for it taking this long to get this project uploaded (about 6 weeks) but I had the added complication of having a system drive in my studio pc fail, and it took about 10 days to get it sorted out. But all seems to be well now =)
My next project will be based on events related in the book "The Fall of Bastion" by Robert Lassen. It will feature original lyrics and music and vocals by Sarah, one of the vocalists in my project "Heaven and Hell"
My thanks to the artists of the wonderful artwork used in this video:
Wizard by muju, from Deviant Art
Fame Aimsard
Ace Gore
I use several sound libraries, and for this I used the following:
EWQL Symphonic Orchestra
EWQL Symphonic Choirs
EWQL Ra
Galaxy Vintage D Steinway concert grand piano
I used Presonus Studio One 2 as the DAW and Ozone 5 for mastering.
All performances, instruments and percussion were performed and recorded live, no audio loops, sequences, or slices were used.
Thanks very much for the great feedback and kind remarks everyone, it helps so much to fuel my fire =)
And thank YOU for making these masterpieces and sharing them with us! Seems like everything I hear from you is downright epic.
Absolutely love this! Eagerly awaiting your next piece :D
Thanks for linking this, Chris. Amazing!
Thank you for this completely amazing music! :)
Wow, still have the shivers! Thanks for the reveal. It's all you, man!! =)
Man, this is awesome! I am humbled.
Thanks very much sir, your book inspired powerful emotions in me, you're a very talented writer =)
AH! this is so good man! Keep up the work!
Good job, as always!
Man, epic ending!
Amazing, as always. The tune reminds me a lot of the song "The Summer Knows." (I think I just dated myself.)
That was excellent. Well done.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it
I hope SOE has you on payroll...man your amazing.
Mate, it's brilliant to hear you're doing "Fall of Bastion" next - I can't wait to see it! If you find yourself with any questions or have any thoughts on the story, please let me know - and congrats on the awesome video!
Thank you sir =) "Fall of Bastion" is the kind of fascinating story I could do several video's on so part of the process is deciding which parts to incorporate into the video, but I've started production and should have something ready soon. I also just heard that your next novella "The Mage of the Tier'Dal" is available, can't wait to read it!
This is some moving stuff you got here
Thank you sir, be sure and check out "Bastions End", my latest music project freshly uploaded =)
Not yet, but I figure I'll keep being the squeaky wheel and they will cave soon =)
Pretty cool, did you do all the art as well?
I gathered photos and some artwork from around the web and edited it together with the music I had composed for the video to help convey the mood of the story.
Andoran TaVaine Might want to drop some credit for those artists, they like you worked hard on their work. :)
Peacekeeper
Absolutely, their talents contributed greatly to this video, their credits are in the notes above =)
