@theskyelife YO this is crazy, I'm the guy you were talking to while fishing 🤣 8:15 . I'm just seeing this now after 2 years. I was just going through other people videos fishing in central park cuz I posted one a couple of days ago, wild! Nice meeting you man🙏🏾
Love the video! Have fear of moving to NYC if I can't fish anymore. This relieves all that. Word of advice. The rod is breaking because when the fish is close and reeled in you are pushing the handle out towards the lake/fish, causing it to go into way passed a point of where it was designed to go. It is reaching a horse shoe shape which will break every time no matter how big the fish is. The ideal position for a rod is half a heart. If you where to split the heart vertically. One side is bent while the other side is neutral. Love this content!
Love the video. I’ve tried fishing Central Park a couple times but seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Currently living upstate but originally from Ditmas park Brooklyn. Happy days my friend!!
Bro such a good video. I used to fish Central Park all the time when I lived in the city, the carp fishing helped me from missing fishing back home in NJ. Too bad about that rod again man!!
Legend has it that there's largies up in north part of the park, in the Harlem meer. I don't think i would ever fish with anything but my ugly stik there
I winced when that rod broke, think I actually felt a little pain in my chest. Loved the attitude afterwards though and to go after them again! I probably would have sat there looking into the far distance for like ten minutes lol, great video, love this stuff.
Snap crackle pop! St croix snapped in half! Not the send the the world. Send goes on! It has it!!! Ohhh carp on the snapped rod ! Then the guy plays Tom petty for me 10/10 day
Can’t beat the greatest guy of all time! The Tom petty songs inspired so many of my adventures. Runnin down a dream. That brings me back to the Maine road trip like it was yesterday ! Such great music! Great to have you back commenting Jonny! Means a lot!
I knew u would catch a carp when u put bread on 😅 u need a heavy or extra heavy rod and u need to give it line and make it tired…. Good catch! Any suggestions on where to catch large or smallmouth bass around NYC?
One spot in the park, hike it around, explore, u will find. Other than that head north to the reservoirs. Fish where others don’t. Or try tried and true water up that way. U will call catch them with dedication and persistence. 👊
Nice to see u fish Some of my Spots 🎣 ,There on the lake i have Caught Many different species Like Large mouth bass ,Catfish ,Koi ,Yellow perch ,Bluegills ,Carps and it has a Gigantic Snapping Turtle 🐢 lol
Snapped your line and rod! Any carp that does that definitely has a few years of experience under its belt. Probably has been snapping rods and lines for a decade or two!
that pond with all that trash, carp and turtles is absolutely filthy. imagine eating those carp. chinese restaurants must back their trucks up and take turtles n carp routinely.
Did you try a hot dog? If so how was it?. Second you should watch the movie with Tommy Lee Jones. The park is mine. It's a oldy but a goody. Great vid bro
Real fisherman know who live in NYC there's fish in Central park...but why bother ...we have great fishing in Bklyn and Queens ..saltwater..and fish we can eat
Yes and no......technically yes but the park rangers don't check. What they might check is to see if you are using barbless hooks as you're supposed to. The only time I was checked for a license (Had one) in a nyc park was at staten island's silver lake and it was by DEC officers, not park rangers.

You’ll break your rod every time if you short stick it while landing a good size fish.
Exactly

NYC has plenty of fishing opportunities. We have some great fishing
I once caught a 6 lb bass on a fly rod and a Wooly bugger in Central Park! One of the best fly rod fights of my life!
Wow! That’s truly incredible! Congrats on that catch man!
I don’t know how it is now, but it used to be monster size bass in that pond around anywhere from 4 to 6 pounds
This is so amazing hahaha aww the lady who gave u bread
Love the video. I’ve tried fishing Central Park a couple times but seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Currently living upstate but originally from Ditmas park Brooklyn. Happy days my friend!!

You wouldn’t believe it right?
Lived in NYC my whole life and I never knew this. And I been in central park many many times. Amazing really.

Legend has it that there's largies up in north part of the park, in the Harlem meer. I don't think i would ever fish with anything but my ugly stik there
Big ones! Some dude landed a 4 when I was there

Snap crackle pop! St croix snapped in half! Not the send the the world. Send goes on! It has it!!! Ohhh carp on the snapped rod ! Then the guy plays Tom petty for me 10/10 day
I had the same rod break in the same spot, fixed it with a spare rod and some epoxy+braided line.
Hope you didnt toss it, great rod.
The Skye Life is back, missed you and your Send adventures. As a added bonus, Tom Petty ✌️😎

Snapped rod but still got the fish 😎 impressive
You can take the B train behind you to grand street and walk to Pacific pet and tackle
There is some huge carp in there, and also in Kissena.
i got kicked out for fishing here, there was a maaasssiiiveee koi in the pond

That’s awesome Man! I love this spot! Such a special fishery!
You need a medium action rod, ultra light doesn’t cut it.
i don’t know why he thought catching carp like thatwas a good idea with an ultra light😂
Ok
UL would have been fine but the carp ran when he had his hand high on the rod. high sticking will break any rod
Ultralight is sooo fun tho 🎣
i love how people use 30-50lb set ups for these fish lol
yooo~ 8:20 is my homeboy #turtleMan @the_bigCatch
keep up the hustle! #fishON
Snapped your line and rod! Any carp that does that definitely has a few years of experience under its belt. Probably has been snapping rods and lines for a decade or two!
Where did you carp fish in Central Park
The lake. Literally the lake haha
The fish in that pond expect people to feed them and swim close to tables looking… There’s hardly any sport in fishing there.
if you eat fish from that toxic lake you probably grow another leg
Remember me when ur famous
I will!!!! Those 🍊 !!!
mike iconelli fished in that exact spot
Right
Before new york was cursed.
Gonna be moving to Chicago soon I’m gonna try some city fishing like this
That’s gonna be amazing!!! Good luck out there
That lady did not over charge you.
Same thing in Boston I'm fishing for carp there today 😂
That’s so cool! Those city lakes are lowkey loaded
@@TheSkyeLife ya it was a river though
that pond with all that trash, carp and turtles is absolutely filthy. imagine eating those carp. chinese restaurants must back their trucks up and take turtles n carp routinely.
They know now
Someone still gonna get pissed at him for giving away this spot 😂
Yep probs lol
I guess you can't really burn that spot! Amazing how many turtles, they must be feeding on something.
Those turtles thrive on the food thrown in from the city folk. Hard to not catch them when ur using bread for the carp!
I hate when that happens ohh well….Fish on
Did you try a hot dog? If so how was it?. Second you should watch the movie with Tommy Lee Jones. The park is mine. It's a oldy but a goody. Great vid bro
I gotta see it!!! Sounds awesome! Thank you Erin!!!

That not 25 pounds around 8 to 10
.carp could get up to 50 pounds and up
Hack...for using such...light tackle for big fish.
did you need a freshwater license for this?
If you were so lazy you could have bought a whole loaf of bread in any Deli,supermarket...for 5 dollars....lol
Everyone knows...don't be so cocky😅😅😅
Invest in a net dude.
Bro u need to be better prepared with your equipment.
Try to catch fish At the east river
That would be insane! What’s in there? Stripers, bass, eels? Fluke?
@@TheSkyeLife Yeah also bluefish
Did you say shit in German in the video?scheiße😂
No tip for guitarist....lol...cheap guy😂
