- Thom Yorke is clearly the best singer on the planet. This is just a small collection of the times he's made me shit my pants. It's crazy what this man can do with his voice. Let me know if I've missed something amazing.
I LOVE THIS MAN. His voice is like heaven.
"I will" is his voice's masterpiece.
Okay Nice so true
ur mad. it's go slowly
Reckoner. Scatterbrain. Before your very eyes. Exit music for a film = my top thom yorke vocals
exit music, that break, uffff, massive
The last line of motion picture soundtrack.."i will see you in the next life" is just magical....indescribable.....
Who hurt you, Thom? _Who hurt you?_
Ok Peter
"It's gonna be a glorious day!"
in Lucky totally made me cry.....
Rain down, rain down come on rain down .. on me ..
It's gonna be a gloooooorious day !
Nice idea, I enjoyed your picks. You're missing a few though !
"Idioteque's" chorus When he goes "here, I'm allowed, everything all of the time"
"hey man, slow down, slow down" from "The Tourist"
"pull me out, of the aircrash" from "Lucky"
the insane scream at 3:45 and 4:05 on "Climbing up the walls"
chorus of "Bulletproof...I wish I was"
chorus of "high and dry"
"It's here I'm alive" on Idioteque.
Thom Yorke's voice is good for my brain, my heart, my soul & my life .
A voice sent from heaven
Like it - my fave singer too... But I would include some early stuff - like the chorus in Sulk, and even the blood-curdling yell in Pablo Honey's You - oh - and a moment from Spectre - fantastic vocal! - and I 2ns those mentionned by 'abui808' - oh, and Polyethylene!! Thanks for the vid!
Opened this video and was waiting some deep brilliant vocals, only to be hit in my face with How to disappear completely. I heavily agree though, those howling lyrics are the greatest thing he has probably ever done along side with reckoner
Definitely agree with the moments in Motion Picture Soundtrack, Scatterbrain, Spinning Plates, I Will, Last Flowers (oh my oh my that falsetto!) and Atoms for Peace - will watch part 2 before I say you missed any!
Definitely a hottie too
nice collection of songs. you mised let down, second chorus, with harmonies with ed
En 'Atoms for peace' tiene una elasticidad vocal increíble.
I love them all....god.like..simple.
i'm so glad you put atoms for peace on this, i think that is his most beautifully sung number.
You missed "Just", Such a good rock voice in that song - One bit where he says "You and no-one else" The emphasis he puts on "no-one else" is class
Wooo, the You and Whose Army picture is my favorite picture of Thom (:
I think atoms for peace is the best vocal performance by anyone ever :D
he's so...
I cannot find the appropriate word.
I'm so addicted to him...
Thom yorke e sua voz maravilhosa. Adoro
that is spot on!
One of my favourite Radiohead songs in terms of the vocals is Bloom. The 'giant turtle's eyes' line is sung so softly, but with unbelievable power. And I just love the way they kind of drone on (in the best way possible) generally throughout the song. He's completely unbeatable.
Lucky is one of the best songs i have ever listen
hey man thanks so much for this video, it gives people a chance to search out songs that they might of passed if only listening to first few seconds
there so many songs that i can't choose one.......... gagging order, nude, arpeggi, so many excellent songs!
thanks for posting this.
Thom yorke e sua voz envolvente é demais
yeah especially the live version... it's just so sad and amazing
When he goes into falsetto on Spinning Plates, I lose it
Atoms for peace is amazing performance.
I couldn't agree more. You're description is fucking hilarious btw.
It isn't until you put all these songs together that you realise what a range he has.
woah... i can't believe i missed those. i'm ashamed. good ones!
I LOVE the picture for Skip Divided, in this vid
omg he is so fucking fucking fucking insane!i love him
The apotheosises of both Pyramid song as Black star are my favorite parts of Thom York. Sheer magic.
life in a glass house!
"sometimes you sulk, sometimes you burn, god rest your soul when the loving comes and we've already gone" - "sulk"
woot woot
God when I hear it like that I get a proper Radiohead rush, like the big obsessive fan I am.
His voice on 'Atoms For Peace' really is outstanding
he's obviously had hours and hours of vocal training, he makes a pretty good vibratto and a darn good falsetto, most of all he feels really deep all of his songs, but strictly speaking about vocal realization.. opera singers, those guys really dominate their vocal cords at the maximum.
amen, bruvva
okay... kind of agreed. it's his voice that's special then, not his singing ability. his voice radiates this amazing feeling that no one else can reproduce. that's why he's brilliant.
Best vocal preformances imo from nude, atoms for peace, and reckoner
Para mi Thom Yorke es el mejor al igual q el grupo demasiado genial !!!!!!!!!!!
ARRIBA RADIOHEAD !!
Up RADIOHEAD !!
how i wish i was him. dude...
I so agree with you I even though for a moment I had written that
I completely agree.
SU VOZ ENAMORA *.*
You forgot the climax of Exit Music (for a film)
But yeah, he's amazing.
haha, cheers.
from 3:40 onwards, "one day i am gunno grow wings" my fav radiohead song
Last Flowers is an incredible song
I WIll is just amazing
Haha you're right, you do have lucky. But I mean, if you include that piece from scatterbrain for example, I don't see how you can skip over the chorus of Idioteque at least. That chorus shakes my insides every time I hear it.
agreed
axel rose? :O i agree with bfletch23 it's the subsequent feeling that he creates with his voice that makes it special...
Very, very far from alone, my friend. Ever been to a Radiohead concert?
It's the only time I've ever cried in a live performance, and I've been plenty. Witness and live.
He is definitely inspired by the vocals of Morten Harket"a-ha"😉
V nice vid, well done, excellent selection
btw where did u get that pic of thom with his hood up from (while spinning plates is playing) ?
thanks
haha shakes your insides. good one. i love idioteque to bits, but i would pick other parts of the song before the chorus. i don't know why... in the chorus he sounds kind of... bored? the word "time" is nice though.
haha, agreed.
omg if I'm not mistaken you so missed fake plastic trees and the ruuuuuuuunnn from creep... and street spirit... and.. hm...high and dry.. oh and paranoid android
"Thom Yorke is clearly the best singer on the planet. This is just a small collection of the times he's made me shit my pants. It's crazy what this man can do with his voice. Let me know if I've missed something amazing."
RIGHHHHTTT ok then.
you gotta also consider his setup, like the mic and EQ. but even so he's brilliant at what he does
oh ya. what part exactly?! so i can listen and enjoy.
I think Atoms for Peace is my favourite bit
So many greats songs! but you missed some of the most brilliant songs of all times: Paranoid Android, Let Down, Exit Music, etc, etc, etc! and you forgot the best song of In Rainbows "RECKONER" in my opinion the best song of radiohead since Ok Computer
I fucking loved eraser but no one ever acknowledges it.
Kinda?! He IS The Cutest
@Seraphimal that is pretty amazing, but one of my favs is also on How to disappear completely. at 5:23 on the track, its fkn insane. to me it feels like its building up and everything is closing in on you or something and youre about to die, then there's this little opening of light or hope or something, but you get sucked into the wraths anyway. just impossible to describe. what i just wrote doesnt make any sense.
"Lucky" have thom at his best.
LIFE IN A GLASS HOUSE
once againn
i put a few of those on thom yorke's brilliant vocals part 2! it's a video response above.
whats his vocal range or catagory, tenor or baritone?
hahaha, ooh i totally agree! i think i should. i've found tons of stuff myself :D omg, like in "we suck young blood" at 2:38. purrrr. whoops... ruined the surprise. but really, i think i will make part 2.
with Jeff Buckley complete the trlogy...
Let Down is missing
Oh my god! I thought I was the only one who shit her pants with moments like that!!
I think you forget something very important:
Listen again scatterbrain, when he says "Your voice is rapping" I feel non-human feelings!!!
I don't think the word 'brilliant' is brilliant enough
I don't know why you like that.Nothing ever good enough for you.
where the hell is the outro from Nude? that is my favorite vocal part from thom
His voice got a tad (just a TAD) hoarser since the Blond-Dye-Post-Grunge-Creep-Days. Good enough for the nastier End-Of-The-World No-Longer-Teeny stuff the fella's doin' now.
I've seen him couple of weeks ago in Argentina and he was just near perfect. Very in tune, clear pitches, elegant vocals and very in control of his throat.
that part from lucky is in the video at 2:36 btw. the rest are good, but not suuuper good. i do wish i had included "hey man, slow down" though. that is superb.
Then there are the live ones...
@TheLimeTreeBand lol yes :)
He is not the best singer. But that doesn't matter at all. He uses his voice really good, but that doesn't about the falsetto. Actually, Matt Bellamy and Jeff Buckley are better singers than Thom. They use their voice much powerful. But, not better! Because, Matt and Jeff are incredibly great artists, no doubt. But Thom is a true genius. His songwriting is far better. So, as a musical genius, Thom knows what to do with a song. He knows where to put which emotion to which part of the song. He knows how he should sing in every song. And he doesn't even think about it. Cause he is a genius, he is talented naturally. This is what makes Thom so unique and so great. This why he effect us in a scary way, that we can't even understand. Thom will not be able to hit incredibly high notes. But for a long time, no one will be able to reach his level of musicianship and artistry.
razecah cucu matt's voice was good up until black holes and revelations, i think, now he's doing all this affected operatic stuff that gets really annoying.
Well I agree that Jeff Buckley is a better singer than Thom Yorke. but Matt bellamy,no
Well I agree that Jeff Buckley is a better singer than Thom Yorke. but Matt bellamy,no
Well I agree that Jeff Buckley is a better singer than Thom Yorke. but Matt bellamy,no
ALL THREE ARE AWESOME! (but i particularly love jeff and thom :D )
Why bother to make this video when you could just listen to each album in turn? Much easier ^^
It's a shame that youtube stuffed up the audio quality on this, becuase there are some moments that make me speechless...
Thank god for Motion Picture Soundtrack.
i'm so sorry, i've tried to reply to this a million times and it hasn't worked. but the picture is on the green plastic radiohead site. go to multimedia, and pics of thom. it's on the second page. and if you wanna save it, click "Open image in new window".
You put "I will" in there, but i think Ed is the best part of that song
check out part two
Axl rose ??? you missed bono mate
LMAO.
but surley in the top5
erm... I don't think they're called On A Friday... Just to let you know
Wow. You must not have any wearable pants left.
too short and snappy,
