Could be all the plants. Algea can't compete when there are a bunch. I currently have an algea problem bc my plants died when my tank light gave out. I needed to save some money so my tank went without a light for a few weeks. Now that I have a light again and very little plants the algea is having it's fun however I'm in the process of adding new ones.
Sorry this is majorly late. But it's because it was a CFL bulb. Those bulbs really don't put out a whole lot of PAR. If it was a 23 watt LED I'd have algae for days. Haha

23 watt! How come you don't have any algae ? As soon add more light in my low light tank 2-3 different type of algae shows up
