Thank you for posting this. I have a friend who is interested in the Mini Max. I have the Omnium E-Cargo V3 (size XS) and I agree with everything you say here. I also feel mine is a beautiful, well made bike, and it is so much fun to ride! I bought it with e-assist because if I carry heavy loads up hills, I personally would need the extra power, but even when I don't really need the bike for its cargo space, I still tend to decide to take the Omnium for a ride. No regrets!
Thank you for your comment. The Omnium E-Cargo V3 is a really cool bike! I totally understand that you bought it with e-assist if you need to carry heavy loads up hills.
That’s awesome! Bullitts are also super cool? Totally agree-once you experience the convenience and fun of a cargo bike, there’s no going back! Glad to hear it’s your favorite thing too!
Nice cirkel😉 i had an batak(also 🇩🇰)....it went stolen in Århus😮💨 soon i will move to Søhøjlandet, where theres an omnium retailer, wich will be nice for trips in the area! Fed cirkel du har🚴🇩🇰👍
Tak! 👋🙂
I have the same Mini Max (pre-V3) with some custom tires and now upgraded with the tilting rack. .... and of course no car in Kbh :-D ... I am surprised it was not yet stolen, pwww
No car in Copenhagen is definitely the way to go! 😄 Sounds like you’ve really dialed in your Mini Max setup. I agree - the fact that it hasn’t been stolen yet is a miracle 😅 Maybe our bikes just has good karma. Do you use it daily around the city? Always cool to hear how others are making the most of their rides here in Copenhagen! 🚲
@@frederikwintherlarsen It's my "almost daily" driver and also stored outside in the backyard, doing everything from groceries to house moves (ha) or even people carrier if needed, but most of time just a "normal" bike going in and around Kbh. But I was not yet brave enough to carry a full sofa (seen last year in Nørrebro :D
This was a fun and amazing review. Thanks for sharing your experience and appreciation for a quality product. (One of my favorite reviews on the Omnium Mini Max, which I currently have on my wish list). Question, if this applies to you: I also was considering the belt-drive. Can you comment on cycling uphill? Is there any noticable difference or performance limitation? And with regards to the challenge of hauling your Mini Max on trains, Dam Good makes an Omnium Cargo hinge that allows the front cargo to fold into a vertical position for easier parking and storage. Thanks again for your expert review!!!
Thank you very much for your comment and the kind words. I really appreciate it! I am very satisfied with the belt drive and the 8 gears. Denmark is relatively flat but the bike manages the few hills we have without any problems. I have only tried the regular chain for a few minutes when I test drove the different bikes so I can’t really comment on that option. I did not know about the hinge for train rides. Thank you! 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for your comment and support. It really means a lot. You can read more about the gear at the website. "Choosing the Shimano Alfine 8 paired with SRAM Level TL brakes offers an ideal blend of reliability and performance. The Alfine 8 hub provides smooth, maintenance-free shifting, perfect for urban commuting. Coupled with SRAM Level TL brakes, known for their powerful, consistent stopping power, this combination ensures a safe and efficient ride." Link: omniumcargo.com/dk/shop/produkt/mini-max-v3-wifi/
At the end I chose the Yoonit (with the 400 liter bag in combination with the Job Carrier) as it is as capable as the Minimax or even the Cargo but it is more compact. And for sure: I still love the Omnium (the colors are awesome)
Thank you for your comment. I have never heard about the Yoonit before. I just checked it out online. It looks super cool and very capable. Great choice!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the review. I totally get it-Omnium Mini Max are in high demand, especially in North America. I’ve heard that some people have had luck checking with local dealers. You can check out the website for more information about that. Hope you’re able to get one soon; they’re definitely worth it
I have an electric bike but I bought it very cheap 5000kr and I only use it in decent weather. With this type of bike costing so much would the company consider putting an anti theft system in the frame like a GPS tracker. I'm sure your insurance would cover the cost of fitting one.
Good point! An integrated GPS tracker would definitely be a game-changer for peace of mind, especially with the high cost of my bike. Covering it through insurance or adding it as an option could be a smart move. Thanks for sharing your thoughts-totally agree!
Have you got any vintage cargo or carrier - butchers bike ie the colours are usually black ' with shop signs hanging inside the frame ' or any vidioes about them 🇬🇧🏴
@@frederikwintherlarsen thats ashame ' yeah shops ie small ones used them to dekiver groceries ' the signs usually advitised their shops ' ive heared people call them tradesmans bikes also ' anyway thanks 🏴🇬🇧👍
I totally understand. I actually decided to make this review because so many people around the world cannot go and test drive the bikes. But trust me - it is amazing.
Thank you for your comment and your support. I appreciate it a lot. I think it is possible to order the bike from one of their dealers in the UK. If you take a look a the website it looks like there are a lot of options all around the UK.
I have two locks and insurance for the bike. I don’t spend time worrying about it because it is not something I can control. Also I have lived in Copenhagen since 2010 and I never had my bike stolen :-)
This bike looks amazing, but I’m not sure how I could fit two children onto an omnium, plus have it go up with me in the lift at home (no secure bike parking at my flat)
Omnium actually posted a picture of a bike built for a costumer with twins. It is possible but I agree that other bikes might be more practical. But probably also less exciting to ride 🤠🚲 Link to instagram post: instagram.com/p/C_LFwnusTXI/?igsh=MTVycW0yeDZjNXNkZw==

Same! I own a Bullitt. While it was expensive it’s now my favorite thing I own and I could never imagine not owning a cargo bike again.

Thank’s for the great review! Greetings from a fellow MiniMax owner in Finland.
You are welcome! Thank you for your comment. Nice to know that the Minimax has also made it to Finland.
Nice bike. I want one. Another option is to add a front and rear rack to a hybrid bike to use as a light cargo bike.
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it! And yes that would be really cool. Great idea!
I'm so tempted to buy one of these!

Can your business create one as a mid step frame?
That is a great suggestion. I will make sure to pass it along!
