I own the red one and absolutely LOVE IT. my favorite piece of gear and it sounds so fantastic it's replaced most of my gear. And don't even get me started on how easy it is to set up a killer sound even without the software editor. I'm not a metal fan but I might pick this up. I think these will be a future classic
Sounds great. But then again, everything you record does. I am pretty sure that if you recorded a demo of the cheapest, crappiest solid-state amp, it would still sound amazing.
I've kind of always wished line 6 would make a stand-alone pedal for the badonk. I guess this is pretty close. I don't think this has been released in the US yet, though. Can't find it anywhere.
@@SonicDriveStudio I had the pod go and no matter what presets I made, or models I used, I always went back to the badonk 😂 I sold the pod go because it had so much stuff I'd never use. Definitely think I'm gonna grab this!
My only criticism of these pedals is I wish the switch could be A/B instead of on off, and that they'd keep the dang names of the amps the same over all products 😂
Enjoyed the demo. It would be great to hear how close some of the Presets can be dialed in to match your real Amps. It's an interesting approach by Line 6 to have something like a Genre-specific compact Pedal. Thanks
IIRC the regular version has separate effects, and you can switch them with ext ftsw. Not sure why this isn't the same. Mild deal breaker, because I was considering the pod express red just because of that... Then this comes out which is like 1000% built for me with the amps and even the effects. 😢
I still own and daily play an HD147 with the Big bottom amp on the smash channel. Love this amp. Ive been eyeing a lot of the pedals loke the Anti and the knuckles but this one is a must for me and will soind great through my spider valve.
Thank you for this awsome video ! Damn, it sounds awsome, as does your mix - WHICH ML drums are you using, the free kit or WHICH one of the add-on kits ?????
I may be sold on nostalgia alone...I played the Badonk religiously back in the day lol. Maybe I missed it, but how exactly did you do the bass tones here? You mentioned ML Sound Labs, so I'm guessing on of their amp plugins? Did you record with an actual bass tuned that low? The thought came to mind that maybe you can record with the guitar itself? Maybe pitch shifted down, or maybe not if that would become to inaudible?
@@SonicDriveStudio A video sounds great. I'm probably not the only guitarist wondering how things go when you go this low and try to fill out the bass end of things. My simple chugga chugga caveman mind can't compute lol
Just give me a tight, loud , mildy compressed amp and a great cab like an eminence loaded Vader, or celestion loaded mesa and i wont need a garage full of modelers ....

I'm glad they have a Software editing program for MAC/PC for the Black. Makes life a lot easier
BADONKULOUS will now be included in my vocab 😎🍻🤘
Looking to buy one of these. Great review.
This is going to fly off the shelves, it's flipping awesome - and GREAT review!
$300 and made of plastic? I could buy a lot of other things for that price
@@Jason31256 That's not the price, it's £170 here in the UK so that is around what, $200 in the US?
@@MercutioUK2006nope 179 usd
@@Jason31256why did you double the price
Chunky!!! Like a Bodonkandonk should be!!! Killer riffs too!
Was eagerly wanting to hear the M8M for this demo (cannot wait)
That aside, the M80M is still a fantastic guitar in its own right. Great as always \m/
I've kind of always wished line 6 would make a stand-alone pedal for the badonk. I guess this is pretty close. I don't think this has been released in the US yet, though. Can't find it anywhere.
This is that but it also has more, so I dig it! I just got released so it might take a minute before it's available
@@SonicDriveStudio I had the pod go and no matter what presets I made, or models I used, I always went back to the badonk 😂 I sold the pod go because it had so much stuff I'd never use. Definitely think I'm gonna grab this!
@@billyturk8117 looks like it's on pre-order at Sweetwater.
I’ve always wanted line 6 to release real versions of their originals!
@@the1trueporkchop a badonk amp would be sick!
Well. I might use this for practice thru studio monitors vs firing up my rockerverb or Bhinds. So happy for the Orange amp sim on here 🙌
Pretty sick sounding unit!

Love that XXL cab

Love it - Can the Reverb and Delay be used together?
I think you have to choose between the two
@@SonicDriveStudio Thanks - wish we could use both together.

@@zipporaid You mean the Red one has reverb and delay that can be used together, but the black one does not?, that is sad if true.

Love this amp.

Great video, can it be connected directly to a cabinet ?greetings from Spain.
No, you would need a power amp
Choose between Delay or Reverb is bad! We should be able to use both together.
nice metal sound
…beginning with this 😮
Please line6 do now a „Black“ Version for Bass Players 🥳
I wonder how good this thing is as an audio interface...
Can you use reverb and delay at the same time?
Thank you for this awsome video ! Damn, it sounds awsome, as does your mix - WHICH ML drums are you using, the free kit or WHICH one of the add-on kits ?????
A combination of Grit and I think the main kit. I did a video about it
It is possible to record wet sound and DI in the same time?
Should compare it to the pod go. Also doze it plug into the return & send. Just listening the distortion sounds no good. But good video
Any capability of loading your own IRs?
Shame they didn't choose the Purple channel on the Revv, but a great selection of amps here.
I may be sold on nostalgia alone...I played the Badonk religiously back in the day lol.

These days I use Amped Bass from ML for my bass tones. Maybe I'll do a video!

Line 6 always kill it with the amp choices, they don't go for the generic sets, but they also don't go so specialist that people lose interest
All guitar TH-camrs reviewing the same pedals on the same day
Good time to be alive!
To be fair, not many with the knuckles at the time of writing this , and John is the first I see with this one. But that might be my TH-cam bubble .
My Knuckles video should come out tomorrow...
Called a product release..it's how companies save on advertising costs....and all this guy probably gets for his time and influence is the pedal....
These no way to put the phaser or chorus in front?
How can I connect it to a computer if it does not have an input like this device?
You need the USB cable
No retur&send. The reverb delay will sound terrible
how does it actually differ from the previous version? Apart from the color?
I haven't tried the other version but I'm assuming different amps, different effects etc
Different amps cabs and effects.
I am a podman now
Wish it loaded third party IRs!
Epic
😎
Man this ain't fair.....just bought the pod express 2 months ago hoping to get on-the-go metal presets....and now seeing this 💔
Damn, first it was the big bottom, then the badonk...and they changed it again!?
Every video demoing this thefe runninng it straight into the daw . No videos running it into a frfr cab or into effects loop .
No spillover though.
too many goddamn pedals and they are all great, what are you doing to me!? besides giving me more gas than a years supply of free Taco Bell 🤣
Does it have a gate
Yes
must it say “slay”
What do you mean?
We spend more time talking about gear than we do plan our guitars all my tube amps are great and my cabinets with v 30s
200 notes fora behringer plastic enclosure?😂🎉 sounds good... but for that price a metal enclosure could be a better value....
