At 01:50:00 (-ish!), the segment regarding records being played in reverse... Most people thought it was a big, hilarious joke, pretty much! Not many people really believed that shit! =OD 😳😁😄 I can even remember it being a 'scary' rumour back in 1984, when I was just five years old. And the story (I forget what these fables are actually referred to as...?) was still doing the rounds up until the early 1990s. I can recall a family that lived nearby in the same block as me, whose teenage son (15/16yo) scared himself silly playing with a Ouija board in the garden shed! LoL! He had also been listening to rock records backwards! =OD Namely, Ozzy Osbourne and Motorhead. I'm sure there were others but I was only five years old, though those two artists I DO recall clearly being his taste (and several years later, would be mine too)! I always wondered if it was worth potentially ruining your LPs, likely scratching them to pieces whilst trying your best to *manually* play them _at the right speed - _*_backwards!?_* LoL! 🤔😄🤦♂ Er, so yeah... anyway! Before the widespread use of the internet (and BBS's in the years prior) there were still silly, misinformed, angst-ridden teenagers who were, if not already Goths (and certainly not yet Emo's!), heavy metal fans who listened to Black Sabbath (obviously!) and Led Zeppelin (thanks to Jimmy Page's personal interests!). And ALSO *Black Widow,* - DEFINITELY CHECK THEM OUT! BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING AMAZING! And they were totally into the faux-black magick, ritualistic hocus-pocus! Well, at least for their first album they were! But honestly, Black Widow, they were an absolutely stunning band that still nobody knows about. They were directly affected by the hysteria of black magick in rock music. 🤔🙄🤦♂ Damn, what was I on about? Off on a tangent here, oh yeah! The 'hysteria' of scared rural housewives was very real and lasted from the late 1960s (possibly longer) up until the early 1990s. And yeah, a neighbour managed to scare himself playing with a Ouija board and trying to spin his records backwards! 😆 🤷♂ I wonder what managed to scare him so badly?! 😄LoL! Wow, feeling some unexpected nostalgia there! Anyway, I'll stop rambling now... 😁

They don't LMAO Flat earth is the most retarded thing ever. Anyone who is a flat earther I always ask them, have you ever seen the ocean? Their answer is always no, when you look out on the ocean as far as you can see, you can see the horizon and you can almost see the curvarature, you can see ships almost go up then go down out of view, On a flat earth like they say ships should just keep going straight till they dissapear into mist but they don't, you literally see them go down and dissapear as if they "sank" into the horizon
It's amazing how they can hold so many contradictory, utterly impossible concepts in mind and still function in society to any degree. My brain would leak out of my ears if I tried, it's quite a remarkable skill. There is currently much controversy in the flerfer community, according to a couple of channels I watch, scimandan and creaky. Some of them got the brilliant idea to attempt the ''final experiment'', which is to actually go and see if there is - or is not - sunset in Antarctica on the summer solstice. Some of the brighter ones probably know the jig is up and have started trying to discredit the rest, so the community is divided between the true believers who think they'll be vindicated, those who say it won't prove a thing, and the rest (probably the majority) who are either making money out of keeping the myth going or just trolling.

I always thought the USAF "Area 51" in Nevada was a funny nick-name made up by my fellow junior officers at the site based on the UFO popularity in the 1980's. On the other hand, I recently found a clip from NASA showing a van carrying Mercury Astronauts to their launch site from a parking lot at Cape Canaveral. A sign prominantly indicates the (small) parking lot was Area 51. I figured some UFO made for TV movie had used the footage while claiming the van had alien bodies from Roswell, or some such.

@@zap_collection6511 The 3 slightly longer double bars at the beginning, middle and end of every barcode help the laser figure out the angle and orientation of the barcode, but they happen to be the same as the barcode for the number 6. You can verify this by finding any barcode that has a six in it, and comparing the bars above the six with the 3 slightly longer bars at the beginning, middle and end of the barcode that don't have numbers written underneath. So every barcode has 666 hidden in it and it is now true that nothing can be bought or sold without the mark of the beast, as per the dire prophesy of the End Of Days in the bible. I wrote a short sci fi story where a pilot of a space craft had invented an untested device which eventually allowed him to ‘attain’ the fifth dimension in his ship. After doing so, he looked outside a ship window and observed a planet below, having half of a surface, flat, and the underside, spherical. One of the observable physical dimensions was removed from his view after having reached this extra dimension. Hence, the world appeared both flat and round at the same time.

My only question about the moon is why can’t we go back nasa said they lost the technology and information on how to go to the moon which really doesn’t makes sense how do you lose that tech/ info I mean the people who were there would know how to get back so why do they say we can’t go back? I think we did go to the moon but I think the photos are faked and we know nasa messes with there photos so it’s easier for people to see what thier looking at but that just seems very wierd can someone explain that to me? Why we can’t go back and lost the info and tech to go back??
They didn't lose the tech, as we speak the Artemis program aims to go back to the moon. The problem is money. At the time, the US was competing with the soviet union to "be the first", a race they mostly failed until they went to the moon and USSR went broke. There was no incentive to go again and since it was expensive, they stopped doing it. Today some kind of cold war is back, with China and a bit Russia, so the funds came back, somehow. Hence why the US are trying to go back.
Check your sources....who said NASA lost the information? Pretty dumb rumor. That aside, the "people who were there" wouldn't possibly know everything required to get there. It's not like getting in a car and following a map. They would understand what's involved to get their, but there's massively complex calculations, trajectories, etc. to accomplish it. That's why many people worked on the mission - nobody would know everything. You can research further, but the overall Apollo program employed 400,000 people - from scientists to manufacturing and countless industries in between.
There's probably more concerning statistics out there (I'm 78% sure of that). I suppose in this particular instance there's very few consequences in putting your confidence firmly in either camp, other than ridicule. It's not as if you'll fall off or be otherwise affected if you're wrong and suddenly find out. I think people would be more sceptical in general if everything had the same consequences as say not believing in the effects of gravity and finding out you're wrong when you're falling off a cliff.

Whatever the particular tool though, there are still areas where the consequences of being wrong don't matter that much. The actual shape of the earth being one of these reasonably inconsequential things IMO, unless you're involved in science or education that is! Maybe mellowing with middle age. Any talk of horoscopes used to drive me insane, but most people see it as fun I think. It's no more illogical or irrational than following a lower league football/soccer team around for years like I did!
MOON LANDINGS. I am not saying they did and I am not saying they didn't, all I'm asking is why can they not do it now? when the average mobile phone is more powerful than all the computers from the 60's and 70's combined, and private companies are willing to supply rockets and stuff?
It's expensive and there was no more competition on the other side with another super power. Now that China and India send probes and robots to the moon, the NASA started the Artemis program. I wonder why..

Namely, Ozzy Osbourne and Motorhead. I'm sure there were others but I was only five years old, though those two artists I DO recall clearly being his taste (and several years later, would be mine too)!
I always wondered if it was worth potentially ruining your LPs, likely scratching them to pieces whilst trying your best to *manually* play them _at the right speed - _*_backwards!?_*
LoL! 🤔😄🤦♂
Er, so yeah...
Damn, what was I on about? Off on a tangent here, oh yeah! The 'hysteria' of scared rural housewives was very real and lasted from the late 1960s (possibly longer) up until the early 1990s. And yeah, a neighbour managed to scare himself playing with a Ouija board and trying to spin his records backwards! 😆 🤷♂
I wonder what managed to scare him so badly?! 😄LoL! Wow, feeling some unexpected nostalgia there!
Anyway, I'll stop rambling now... 😁
My god, I *_WAS_* on a proper coke buzz last night!
AAAH, the good old satanic panic of the 80/90s..
I kinda want the reason for the fake facial hair and glasses to be because people complained about Simon not hosting these videos, but also, that would suck.

Thankyou Simon for what you do.
I watch all your channels and it's a great help in an otherwise mundane existence.
Keep it up.
Hey, you finally got your neon light fixed. Ive missed its glow. Looks great!
Right? He fixed it by going back in time! It's the only proper use of time travel, if you ask me. 😋
And here I was hoping for a two hours long Decoding the Unknown video
About time, lights out and you get replaced, I'm glad you showed us a real sense of humor, i would also recommend that someone mic over you , with comments like, you can't say that, oe you can't prove it, create a banter ,and sometimes a partial guest host . Thanks again for your videos
It is an old video. This is a compilation video.
Hahahaha 😂😂
Epic!!
Love the "new Simon"
Flawless change out 😜
Is this a re-release? 🤔

????
Pretty sure it's a butthurt present host mad at people calling him out for mentioning wrong information that Simon has recently done videos debunking.
It is a compilation of conspiracy videos from the past or at least I am pretty sure it is.
So the middle of the flat earth is frozen North Pole 😂 but sun is same distant above the earth, so it’s frozen in middle but 110 degrees in Sahara desert not to mention north Alaska has 6 months day lastly how do seasons work on flat earth?
@@kayew5492 yeah I have to think with internet it’s just money related, I tried figuring if they’re just that stupid or just money or troll, sadly I’m going with just stupid🤣
Palm trees regrow because they are not trees (unless you are the us forestry service) they are more like bushes or gian herbs. They are similar to how celery grows.
And you can also make salad out of them.
Another bonus fact is that although UFO in English is said as "You Ef Ow" , a lot of Europeans do say "Youfo" or "Oofo".
Woah, Thank goodness for the chapters Im like you chaged from yesterday.
As USN veteran I can confirm the world is definitely round as we never fell over the edge
I love how you can't even have a cheeky video without Dada Google adding those "ever so helpful" context warnings.
The answer to whether Earth is flat or globularish, is unequivocally, certainly and unassailably:

But what is the question?
@wingerding We'll know that in around 10 million years.

Nothing about 666 barcode?
Never heard of it
@@zap_collection6511 The 3 slightly longer double bars at the beginning, middle and end of every barcode help the laser figure out the angle and orientation of the barcode, but they happen to be the same as the barcode for the number 6. Personally, I think it's a coincidence.

Props for using the alien look for this bit.
Dang Simon with your beard trimmed..you look younger.....time travel conspiracy confirmed 😂
He was younger...These are videos from THE PAST
Good stuff. Love your channel
Your polls are not accurate either. People tend to watch videos that support what they believe. I assure you if you polled the people whom watch flat earth videos the results would be almost the total opposite.
Loved the changeover very clever 😂

Oh no... he's run out of content and begun overlapping subjects between the many channels. I guess you can run most of DTU on TIFO if you present it from the right.

Would love to see you converse with Austin Witsit.
This one's for Q! 😂
Hence, the world appeared both flat and round at the same time.
faking dust? no. they just played it back at 1/2 speed.
Played the dust back at half speed, but it kept pace with the rover driving around at full speed?
@@caodesignworks2407 no the entire stream of footage was played back half speed when showed to the public. it's not hard.
@@__ZANE__ Okay then, speed up the video and watch how there's no billowing dust and suddenly the moon buggy is moving very unnaturally for it's speed. You can't have one without the other
@@caodesignworks2407 nice try gaslighting. if i speed up the buggy videos to 2x it just looks like a normal buggy in the desert. are you really this thick?
@@__ZANE__ Have you ever driven a vehicle in a desert? Or even seen one that looks like anything on the moon? Even if you drove on a wet sand dune, you're not going to get the dust/ sand to fall like that. And if it's a dry day, it's going to billow behind you in clouds and linger for a while. Even with wet sand though, it's usually dry as a bone just below it and would billow.
That's how sand and dust works on earth. None of the videos can be replicated like that.
If you're trolling, you're not that bright. If you think the video is sped up or slowed down, you're not that bright.
Flat Earth poll should have one more choice: "I KNOW damn well the world is round."! I mean, it's not simply a belief.
Let’s talk about the firmament around the earth as stated in the Bible not allowing anything to travel beyond that firmament
Yeah. It's nonsense.
Does the Bible say we cannot travel into space?
@@dukstedi nope
@@dukstedi I don't think it says that in so many words, and in any such case the translation would say some thing about heaven or the heavens. But firmament implies some kind of barrier or fixity. Maybe space travel _is_ forbidden.
Maybe it's just as Reverend Lovejoy said once on _The Simpsons_ : "Technically, we're not allowed to go to the bathroom."

When does Simon's album come out?
I prefer the 'Apostrophe Protection Society' they make more sense.
Simon without his beard!!! 😮 definitely looks better with it
It’s mildly disturbing that only 86% were sure the world is round 🤦♂️
There's probably more concerning statistics out there (I'm 78% sure of that).
I suppose in this particular instance there's very few consequences in putting your confidence firmly in either camp, other than ridicule. It's not as if you'll fall off or be otherwise affected if you're wrong and suddenly find out.
I think people would be more sceptical in general if everything had the same consequences as say not believing in the effects of gravity and finding out you're wrong when you're falling off a cliff.
@@jimb9063 true to a point, although I would always regard a flat earther as someone who clearly lacks an ability for evidence based critical thinking.
@546268 please provide your best proof for your spinning testicle?, I need a good laugh.
@@546268 Yes. Critical thinking or lack of is more apt a phrase. A bit lazy on my part. I think 'being a Sceptic' would've been more suitable than 'be more sceptical', a Sceptic hopefully using the usual range of tools including critical thinking from the off.
