- In a major mishap, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died as his helicopter suffered an accident on May 19 near Azerbaijan border. President Raisi along with FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and high-ranking officials lost lives in the tragic incident. Following Prez Raisi’s death, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar visited Iranian Embassy on May 21 and extended condolences. Jaishankar paid tribute and said, “They will always be remembered as friends of India; India stands in solidarity with the people of Iran”. India on May 21 also extended its condolences to Iran and the president’s family ‘in the time of sorrow’ and observed a day-long national mourning. As India observed a day-long national mourning, Tricolour at national buildings flew at half-mast. While speaking at a public event on May 20, EAM lauded the role of Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian in securing long-term deal to manage Chabahar Port. Notably, India and Iran share strong commercial, energy, cultural, and people-to-people ties.

RIP
Their demise is heart breaking for India
The big question that one should ask ....are we still slaves ??? If one person shows his/her critical thinking at the highest position of any country ,they were Targeted and eventually assassinated...does the super powers have the authority to kill them...we humans are the biggest enemies of mankind...we have examples of sinzo Abe ,bipin rawat, Iranian President and many more ....we as Indian should take proactive measure to protect our best brains and the one who can really make some change ... specially I think now a days have to increase security of our prime minister...from all cancel creating elements or technology.
Proud of the way we maintain our own independent foreign relationships & NO other country is going to influence or dictate to us on such matters! In total contrast, we continue to see the complete hypocrisy & double standards of the West when they condemn countries like Iran & Russia but turn a complete blind eye to the butchery & genocide being carried out by Netanyahu in Gaza!
❤🇮🇷
The minister us acting for himself and maybe his ministers too. NOT FOR INDIA. A dictator's life has been ended. Why do we need to condole the death of a dictor, a brutal murderer? Why why why?
By that logic, every country is run by a dictator. And we're allies with most of them. Should we call it the choice of minister or the choice of India?
National Interest, Chabahar Port. Arch Rivals Pak and China
If you don't know India, why comment? What you are saying is used against any country that opposes the global corporate agenda, isn't it? British stole 45 trillion USD worth and finished off 100 million+ Indians. Why have they not been made to pay any reparations? Why is Churchill still glorified? Trying to dictate to India is neocolonialism.
@@shivamkumarmishra The OP is clearly not Indian.
India supports Ukraine not Russia in war
