He couldnt see that there was a woman who just wanted to love him for him. Not the crown. She wasnt scheming behind his back about the throne. She just wanted him. And when he finaly saw it. It was too late. I hope that the two met in heaven and had a proper life in reincarnation where they CAN be happy. (Yes i knwo these are characters but im a sucker for them! lol)

I’m glad he lived with regret while Ruyi got to have peace Ruyi’s eventual downfall was having too much faith in him and Lingwei’s downfall was having no faith in him to begin with.

So Ruyi (the Empress) made a flawless plan, to involve the Empress Dowager which left no room for Consort Lings lies.
