    Respect mate. I'm taking my 1199s to the USA on a 12,000 mile, 4-month trip. Pani's are easily comfy enough to do 200-400 miles a day if really needed.

    How many kms does the bike have in total, and if I may ask how much money would the entire trip cost you? Did you change oil anywhere during the trip? Sorry for blasting with questions, I would certainly try this with my 848! But it already has 63.000km on it so I don't know if I should be worried or not!

    • @javithepito
      @javithepito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It had 20.000km before the trip and changed the oil in Finland just in case but it wasn’t really needed...oil was new. Had the valves, filters, oils, coolant and tires replaced before the trip. Total cost about 1.5 - 2k €. 848 is different, if it’s not the evo version i would check the cylinder compression to see if there is wear also oil changes on that bike every 6k?

    • @disruptive4291
      @disruptive4291 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@javithepito It is every 6.000km yes, I change it every 5 just to be sure. 2k for 12.500km plus hotels and gas? That's not a lot

    How did you get on with coolant temperatures on the 899? No issues with major overheating?

    • @javithepito
      @javithepito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Didn’t have any problems, I actually drove at the peak of a heatwave in France, 42celsius and it did kick the fans on but it kept the engine temperature bellow 103c. Other than that it was good as long as you keep up a speed over 70km/h. I still run the same coolant on the bike, will probably change it before summer but i mean that it did not loose any or at least didn’t notice..

      I have a 959 and use Motech saddle bags. Pro Blaze H (earlier version. Nothing officially is available for the 959. You have to buy the setup for 899, and modify the metal mounting bracket to fit a 959. This entails cutting or grinding it just a bit to clear the exhaust heat guard. I love this luggage system!

    • @javithepito
      @javithepito  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Si, son motos muy diferentes, la Panigale es más dura y precisa, el motor es más reaccionario y mas potente. La 848 es más suave, más pesada, menos potente, embrague en seco a no ser que sea la versión EVO y no tiene mapas de potencia. Cual es más bonita? Pues no se que decir pero la 848 tiene sus curvas ah y el monobrazo...aparte de su estética te recomiendo la Panigale.

    did you worry about a tire change while on the trip? also i have a panigale v4s with 22,500 miles i put on all of it within 6 months of having it and had a 959 previsioulsy for 2 months and put on 10,000 miles and have a kawasaki ninja 300 for my first bike and put on 24,000 ish miles on that in a year. i want to ride cross county with my paniglae but worry about break downs.... any advice? especaillly traveling on a liter bike?

    • @javithepito
      @javithepito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mounted the Pirelli Rosso 3 tires for the trip as they are good overall in any condition and lasted even 3000km after it.
      It is a Ducati it is very well engineered but that doesn’t mean you dont have to take care of it so changed the oil with motul 300v and also performed the valve check a month prior of the journey. I guess the v4 might be a bit more comfortable as it is wider but I can’t tell for sure as it also has more power and consumes more fuel, my average consumption was 250-300km a tank with all the luggage on. Keep a good speed to make the wind force take some weight from your wrists and if you can get cruise control installed and programmed i believe there was some guys from Australia that had the software Tuneboy i believe, or the plastic hand rest on the throttle.
      By the way nice bikes you had, i did have an aprilia rx, honda cr, monster 696 and got the Pani 889...i might be looking at the multiv4 or the xdiavel in the future.
      Go for it is awesome you will test yourself it’s not easy but rewarding🤩

      @lavidadevinodh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@javithepito Wow those are some nice collection of motorcycles you had. Ive test ride both but i still love the looks of the panigale i guess also since im 27 i can still ride in that aggressive position. Yeah i want curize control so bad and i know ducati just came out with heated grips on their v4r but i have the v4s so i am hoping atleast withing the next 1yeat or 2 they will finally put on cruize control and ill upgrade but if not ill have to look into something for the bike. Are you in the states? i live in st.louis so it isnt bad riding wise. when are yo getting the multi or the x diavel?

    • @lavidadevinodh
      @lavidadevinodh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      also do you do tire changes yourself or do you take it in to the delearship?

    • @javithepito
      @javithepito  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lavidadevinodh The Panigale is sex on wheels, i change my tires at a local shop, the valve clearance at Ducati and oil, filter, hydraulic fluids myself.
      I live in the Canary Islands(Spain) at the other side of the Atlantic would love to cross the states but that needs another vehicle or not.

  • @donski8687

    Nice one 👍 What was the comfort like on the Panigale ?

    • @javithepito
      @javithepito  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not the best and not the worst, it is good in terms of the legs as you sit a bit higher than the rest of sportsbikes and i do have the comfort seat instead of the thinner original one. It has a bit wider handlebars and it makes it easier to deal with, but the weight is still going to be on your wrists so for longer rides not the best unless you have cruise control.
