MikeshakeTV this is what you were experiencing. Looking at the word or phrase for a lengthy period of time in place of repetition also produces the same effect.
It'll be easier to learn as a kid. Kids like a sponge, they absorb everything. Adult got expectation, believe, urge to deny something irrelevant to them.
After I broke my dominant hand, I had to use my non dominant hand for absolutely everything. I think this opened new doors in my brain. I highly recommend you to keep improving your non dominant side, not just for writing but for everything you do ;)
decided to look up vids on this and this vid is pretty good lol. but yeah your comment hits hard. my left hand does nothing but move the d-pad on a controller and normal everyday stuffs like grabbing, holding, and turning things. however eating is another story lol. it feels so weird to hold a fork or a spoon and try to eat. my mouth just doesnt know what to do with the utensil as it approaches my face lol. like my hand is on its own magnetic field and the utensil just deviates from its intended target.
@@faithsweet8224 it's all about memory muscle, which means that it will take some time for your muscles to learn new habits. So the main tip would be to stay patient, and to focus on the progress. And obviously, not to compare with what your dominant was able to do as it could bring demotivation. Few things will seems extremely difficult and therefore will require even more patience. Like brushing the teeth for example.
I have tried writing with my left hand ON and OFF for about 4 years. Here are some tips: 1. Start by writing the alphabets as they come in all caps for about 10 times then in small for 10 more times. 2. Write the alphabets backwards starting from Z and ending at A. Do this about 20 times in Caps and 20 times in small. This is also a fun memorization technique for knowing the alphabet backwards. 3. Draw lines : UP, DOWN then bumps OVER and UNDER (each atleast 20 lines) 4. Finally it's time to put your skills to the test by writing 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.' I'd suggest 5 times in small letters and then the 6th time in all caps. If you get bored try finding similar sentences which incorporate all the letters in the alphabet. Many can be found online. Once you are confident enough you can move to writing passages and short articles.

There’s just one problem with that. Learning block letters is easy, but try writing cursive letters - it’s on a whole different level. That’s what really makes it difficult.

My mom was a lefty too. Her school forced her to use her right hand too even swatting her if she tried using left. This was during the 60s in the states. Lefties always getting shit on... Lol
That's exactly what happened to my mom! Even though what the teacher did was wrong but thanks to her my mom could write with both hands and in exams when one hand got tired she would just start writing with her other hand which was a great power move in my opinion 😂
I did this for a while and for a bit I only wrote with my left hand and in cursive which I couldn't do either of those things and now it has messed up my right hand writing :l
I woke up one morning about a year and a half ago and decided to do exactly this. I have worked on it daily, and now my left handwriting is as good as my right, and speeds have improved considerably. My biggest challenge this whole time, though, has been getting my brain to stop sending signals to my right hand while I'm writing with my left. My right hand and fingers twitch from muscle memory while writing with my left hand, and over time it'll cramp. Even today, a year and a half into it, it's still a struggle and it takes a conscious effort to relax my right side. 40 years of right-handed writing is certainly hard-wired into my brain. Learning to use the left side has been a challenge, but so has learning to *not* use the right side.
I think that there should be progressive exercises. I learned it for fun as a summer vaction project. 1. Brush your teeth using both your hands. Whatever grip or motion you use with lets say right hand do it with the left. Left your right hand guide as you write. Use a stencil, or a doted alphabet sheet. I'm left handed and my family especially the elderly wanted me to learn to write with my right hand. But my parents didn't force me. But now I am inspired to write with my right hand. Great video. Also subscribed to the channel.
Left-hander here. I remember being in kindergarten and being told to choose a hand to write with. Tried both for 5 seconds. Didn't have a strong preference, but I chose left hand. At age 14 I wanted to try writing with right hand. Sloppily wrote a page or 2 of random words. Got bored and gave up. At age 16 I found someone's uncrumbled homework in a small trash can in a school classroom. It had the girl's name on it. The letters were straight and uniform AF. I was jealous. So I started practicing again for real. Pages and pages and PAGES of random words and sentences (this is called freewriting btw) later, the words started to look better. I kept going. Now I can write with either hand. No, they do not look the same. I have left handed penmanship and right handed penmanship. They look different. Some might say my right hand is neater. But I did intentionally practice with it afterall. The left hand I use just because it's the hand I always used. There's another potential reason my right-handed writing looks better: English is written from LEFT to RIGHT. Right-handers PULL their pen across the page. Their pen can glide across if they like. It's kinda fun imo. Left-handers PUSH their pen into the page as they write from left to right. So it is more difficult. They cannot glide across the page. It's more like the tip catches on every letter. Not fun. If you are left-handed, I encourage you to try mirror-writing: Write from right to left with all the letters backwards. If you do it correctly and hold up the page to a mirror, the reflection will show it as written normally. Mirror-writing is a way for left-handers to get a sense of how easy it is for right-handers to glide their pen across the page. You will feel like you've been cheated out of life if you try this. Lol. Similarly, if right-handers try mirror-writing (still from right to left), they will feel the hell that left-handers have felt all their legible lives. Imo, "ambidexiterity" doesn't exist. Or rather, no one is born with it. Writing is a skill. Practice practice practice and either hand will write fine regardless of who you think you are.

During my school, in PE, I hurt my hand really bad but that wasn’t the scariest part, there was a test the day after… so I had to write my English test with my LEFT hand but somehow I still passed. The teacher actually offered that I say what I was going to write and she would write it for me. I said no but now that I think of it, that would have been way easier.

2:33 Same thing happened to my dad. When he was in school the nuns would hit his left hand with a ruler whenever he wrote with it, so he had to learn to write with his right hand. The reason they wanted all kids righty is because Jesus sits at the right hand of God. I think he can still write with both hands.

This inspired me
Am new to this channel, I love it a lot !! ❤😊
When I learned to write with my non-dominant hand, I used the sentence "Sphinx of black quartz, judge my vow"
My handwriting with my dominant hand is bad at the start. When I write with my non dominant hand looks like I'm writing the minecraft enchantment language lol.
Lol I think it's totally normal!
Bad handwriting is the sign of intelligence!

Your editing is amazing :) Hope I can manage to get so good in the future! Btw, what editing software do you use? I use premiere pro :D
Thank you so much!! I use the same!
Your handwriting is good
Hes like Dr.Strange tying to write again, because of the acçident he had😂
Hey Mike , a few days ago I watched your video of using non dominant hand & I felt really motivated !
I was trying to write with my left hand for few years now 🙄 but yeah I didn't give my fullest !
After watching your video how you tried in just one day and the results I felt like why can't I then 🙆♀️
So I started from right then and completed 5 days in training with my left hand and the results are amazing !!! Thanks man , you're a great inspiration .
Keep Going 🙌❤️

My grandpa was left handed as well and in school he was forced to write in his right hand and now he can write in both hands
Lol
This channel is one of those who will blow up in a couple months
Bruh, you're my inspiration. I'm a left handed but tried the right hand after I saw this video.(yesterday) Now, Im trying hard to write with my right hand. And it's working quite well. Ty.
im left handed and your left handed writing is better than mine.
2:33 Same thing happened to my dad. When he was in school the nuns would hit his left hand with a ruler whenever he wrote with it, so he had to learn to write with his right hand. The reason they wanted all kids righty is because Jesus sits at the right hand of God. I think he can still write with both hands.
Your left handwriting on the first page looks better than my 20 years right handwriting!
2:30
just the same happened to my grandfather
Mine too
Welcome to the world of having sliver smudged all over your hand. And having blurred writing when using pencil and pen. I’m about to try to write with my right hand for this reason.

If your non-dominant Hand is the left hand, then just try mirror writing (from right to left). It well be much easyer!
That’s not how you write normally, so all it would do is throw you off and make it harder to actually learn to write with your left hand.
That was really good. He should try writing in lower case and upside down and back the front. It’s fun to write or print upside down and back the front at the same time.
It's official, imma try learning how to write with my right hand now
Nice!!
When I try writing with both hands simultaneously, my left hand is mirroring everything. Idk why that happens.
lol i wish i could do that. imagine whay you could draw if you wrote like that
Coming back to the first video I ever watched on this channel. When it was new. Nice
His non dominant hand handwriting is better than my actual
Me: can write with both hands at the same time
Also me: Phlex
Bro what I think is that you must have more than 10 million subscribers Hats of to u
Why isn't this popular with millions of views
This channel has just started!
Soon it would be followed by millions!
Because he copies Mike Boyd
There are many let's play channels, many tech/minimalism/pranks/vlogs whatever, I am simply a guy who love to learn new stuff. Especially in the last videos I prefer to have different approach than this one, explaining the details of what I learn so everyone could really try at home.
I love this content and I'll keep pushing. Everyone is free to watch what he wants. Me, Mike Boyd or both. Have a nice day!

Im actually left-handed so writing with my right is very difficult

Does being left handed translate to using a pc? Like do you use the mouse with the left hand?
@@alkis1808 most left handed use right hand
I wanted to teach myself to write with my non-dominant hand and found that starting with drawing vertical and horizontal lines and circles and zigzags are so much more helpful than just repeating the same phrase over and over
Next one: learning how to write different things simultaneously.
Lol that would be interesting
Am I the only one I noticed in the little white square of translate? in 2:39
