  • Quality winter stockpile in March for our bull mob? Our bull mob is extremely satisfied to have some winter stockpile that has new green grass blades coming up through it. Every bite they take is a mixture of dry stockpile and new green grass. Can't do much better than that for a ruminate in late winter. If you want to keep your farm profitable every year, check out my 3 grazing books that I wrote on our website: greenpasturesfa...

    Mr Judy, would you please provide the links for the poly wire and poles used for fencing in this video?

    So you think of the blade of grass as a solar collector. Simply put the bigger the solar collector the more energy gets collected and turned into tall grass. Tall grass gets turned into beef.

      You are tracking 100%. We truly are in the solar energy collection business. Our solar collectors generate healthy tasty meat for our communities.

    Greg because this farm is 5 miles away, are you going to bring in the rams to clean up the browse on this farm after the bulls rejoin the cow mob by July 1st or are you going to let this farm rest longer for fall stockpile?

      Rams will go to their normal ram farm. After we sell off 30 two-year-old bulls and turn the Macho bulls in with the cow herd, we will have 22 yearling bulls on the bull farm.

    Grass fed and grass finished beef IS THE BEST. The taste is unbelievable, and the omega 3/6 fatty acid profile is much better than grain-fed. And with beef like Greg's, no glyphosate added! 🙂

    18 here this morning, they say we have another 2 to 4 inches of snow coming tonight. With no above freezing temperatures at night in the ten day forecast, the snow will be sticking around for a while. I'm hoping by mid April we can start grazing some stockpile. Probably won't graze new grass til late May. Bulls are lookin great, stockpile looks great, and looks like more rain coming your way. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

      That stockpile will be fresh and clean as a daisy after spending all winter on ice!

    Greg...So March 1st you brought over the rest of the bulls how many did you end up banding for steers? Do you leave the steers with the cow herd or do they also hang with the bulls?

    • @gregjudyregenerativerancher
      @gregjudyregenerativerancher  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steers were left with the cowherd to save more stockpile on our smaller bull farm. 70% of our bulls were made into steers.

    I’ve been following you for couple years you say in this video no Cow’s been on it since August 2022, so do you clip it with Brush Hog or not?

    • @gregjudyregenerativerancher

      This was a farm we just leased in December of 2022. The previous owner had not grazed it since August when he sold all his cows.

    Thanks for the video! I have some grass that is super thick stock pile but parts of it is thinner. Is it better just let it be or does the thick grass need a little disturbance to make the grass grow.

    • @gregjudyregenerativerancher
      @gregjudyregenerativerancher  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Disturbance of the thick grass will make the new grass more palatable for your livestock and it will help get it broken down for your soil microbes and worms faster.

      @@gregjudyregenerativerancher thanks! I thought so but I didn’t want to slow down my grass in the spring flush.

    Greg, what would you say your average pounds of animal per acre is spread across all of your farms including cattle and sheep. Thanks for all of the videos you put out!
