Was your humming noise when u we’re on highway? I have a 2015 pro4x, VERY similar noise that I think is from rear, I mainly hear it when on throttle and less on deceleration but it’s still there. I also have some noise when I put it into gear and backup or go forward. I replaced all my U joints and rear CV joint. I also pulled off the diff cover and everything looks great. I have a “click” or small clink when I give throttle from a stop (only does it once) and then the humming that you have too.
Mine is still holding up well. This method is what they do on big rigs and similar heavy duty equipment. And Yes St.Maurice is correct. Replacing the seals and using the right grease is imperative!!!

Wonder if it could be your carrier bearing????
That would be my guess too because of the throttle application. A bearing make more and more noise based on speed.
How has this held up?
I’m thinking of trying the same thing this weekend.

Is this the 200 8 bolt rear end?
