Years ago we drained the oil and water out of an Anglia. Put a hammer on the throttle pedal. Fired it up and let it scream its head off. It took ages before it started making any untoward noises. It started to screech and slowly start to seize. But it took longer than we thought it would before locking up! Dynos amaze me why more engines don't fail with the amount of high revs they're put through?!

Those blocks started life in the old espace...I had to strip on last year and the cam journal on 1 and 2 were absolutely destroyed.....there shite lumps to work on in the espace.....no room non

Of course. It's an old bucket that succumbed to fatigue. No excuses or justification are required. But either the dyno, or 'track day', weren't clever ideas after 8 years rotting away.
