I remember the music in this opening scene feeling so eerie and haunting. We could just tell something was up because of the tone of the music. But then I saw another commenter say that this was the first time piano was used and so that’s why it felt “off” in addition to the tone, it just felt so different for this show and so it puts you on edge.
Best episode out of any show, ever. Especially for people who've been a fan of the story since the first book came out. 2 decades of work, theories, and amazing storytelling culminated into a one hour masterpiece.

There’s no feeling like it watching for the first time. Figuring it out like Margaery. If you look closely, she starts looking around the Sept of Balor, essentially concluding that every one of Cercei’s enemies were in the building. “Forget about the bloody gods” is the point she starts to become legit afraid and drops her holy act.

Cersei blowing up the Sept of the Baelor is my favorite scene in the entire series. It's the music that perfectly the tension, the way Margery slowly realizes a plan is in action but it's too late for her, and just the way Cersei destroys every major person against her within King's Landing in one fell swoop. It's honestly a chef's kiss moment. It is my absolute favorite scene within all eight seasons.
@@MFBloosh But he was 30 feet away from the candles when he was shanked. He made it 29 feet! If he'd just put out his arm and snuffed them with his fingers, instead of trying to blow, nobody would have gotten squished by a bell. :D
@@ashscott6068 in his wounded condition he probably lacked the dexterity required to carefully snuff out candles without knocking them down. And there were several.
I wouldn't say "all"... There's still some really good stuff coming up, even if all of it isn't up to the standards of the first 6 seasons. 7x4 comes to mind.
Tommen taking the gainer out the window and then cutting straight to Walder Frey is the all-time,"Hey,he just died! Meh,oh well." scene ever and cracks me up every time.
