For any would-be neck lifters complaining about my latest video, case-in-point: this kind of movement is impossible even for literally the strongest humans. 30kg is *a lot* to do this with, but it's not at all like you see in the movies th-cam.com/video/xGZwmxYSkO4/w-d-xo.html

there must be something with leverage or whatever that can be consciously or subconsciously exploited because I've seen it done before irl. Not for as long as movies do it but enough for people to be stunned, then scared, then rush over and break it up. Also, isn't it fairly common in pro wrestling? yeah yeah it's fake I know but it's not fake in the way a movie is. If they take a flying leap, the wrestler really made that jump. If they're lifted, the wrestler really lifted them. They're just very well trained in HOW to do it easily and (as much as can be) safely. it's not like they're wearing a wire harness or are CGI or anything.
I think this is a case of math not covering every case on its own.

Kyle, you're obviously very smart, and you clearly know more than I do about things like motion and engineering. But a human isn't a statue. Couldn't they avoid potentially tipping over by also using the muscles in their legs to apply force in a reverse direction, thereby stabilising themselves?
Obviously, it's a thing that a person would have to be very strong to actually do (and not just in general, but having specifically trained the relevant muscle groups), but it doesn't actually seem outside the realm of possibility.

For everyone commenting on Vader's robot arms, remember that his left arm is mechanical just below the elbow while his his right is just a little higher. His shoulders-the muscles used to lift people-are flesh and blood. So Vader isn't just lifting a dude, he's also lifting a 25-pound cybernetic limb that's putting additional Goku-training-gear stress on his delts.

One of the key points about the *Star Wars* neck lift move different from the others, is that it's not just "Human muscles". The Force is both reinforcing Vader's arm and other muscles, but also reinforcing his stance. Force users regularly use the Force to "stick" to surfaces that an unaided human would fall off.

If done correctly you can, but it could be very dangerous unless you know exactly what you’re doing. One of the previous doctors in my town lifted his son by the base of his skull because the son was taunting him he couldn’t do it. To prove a point (and maybe scare some of the cockiness out of the kid) he went up and gripped underneath the base of his skull with one hand on each side and lifted him. Not quite the same as a neck lift but he claimed if it had been done incorrectly it could injure and maybe even kill the liftee and the only reason he was able to/confident to lift his kid. I didn’t witness the lift so I’m not sure if he had his kid up against a wall or not which would make the lift easier like Kyle stated in this video.

As long as you are not putting pressure on the windpipe or blood vessels it's safe, pressure on the wind pipe is safe for about a minuet, unless yiu do damage by crushing it, the blood vessels are the danger point however as it's easy to cause a clot or cut off blood flow which csn lead to an aneurism or lack of blood to the brain, in which case it can be deadly in a matter of seconds or cause problems minuets, hours or even days later

I always wanted to see the Rage-to-Mass conversion equation for the Hulk. He actually increases in size (And presumably mass) when he gets angry. Okay, the comic book explanation is "Gamma rays," and if you're trying to pack photons in tightly enough to create Matter, that's the right end of the spectrum, but empirically speaking. How mad does Bruce (Or Ben) Banner have to get for his fist to grow larger than his head? (Also, when he calms down, and goes back to being human sized again, why doesn't he leave a crater from releasing all that matter. As energy. If you fire up that equation, then 200 lbs is equivalent to about 20,000 megatons of TNT. Even if it's not released as Gamma.)

It seems like many people skipped the part at 8:25 where Kyle specifically details that yes if you go outside the parameters he gave which was a strict lateral/front shoulder raise with your elbow extended(preventing too much reliance on other muscle groups) and the way Vader lifts in that scene which is obvious wire work, as the actor used no other muscle group beyond his bicep. I mean even Kyle's stuntman scene clearly showed yes if you do more of a pressing motion, and leverage your back muscles, likely much easier to lift above head a dead weight(meaning much more weight is below your grip and also shifting) with one arm. A good example would be the difference between lifting sand bags with one hand by gripping it at the throat of the bag vs an iron weight which in my experience is pretty damn balanced when held properly. What you are gripping and how you grip it does play a role but all in the favor of Kyle's point.
