Flying from Ireland to the UK with kids

We had a lovely time in Ireland, but have more time until our Shengen tourist visas are ready to go, so next stop is the UK. It was a quick flight on Ryanair out of Dublin. The little glimpse of Dublin is that it is way busier than the country-Ireland we'd become accustomed to over our time there. Time was tighter than we would've liked, but it all worked out.
We need to be more careful when booking rental cars we intend to drop off or pick up at an airport to make sure they are located AT THE AIRPORT. The extra shuttle took some time we only had because our flight was delayed.
