    I'm convinced the name Daiso is Japanese for "dangerous." Because that's what that store is. You walk in and you go "Oh, hey, everything's so cheap! This is cute, and I could use this, and i know *just* who to gift this to, and I bet i could find a use for that and OMG WTF WHY IS MY RECEIPT 3 FEET LONG AND WHY IS MY TOTAL $78?!!?!?!?" 😂

    I use Dawn dish soap for my makeup brushes. Bc it’s made to cut through grease, it does a great job with the oils from makeup on your brushes. It doesn’t make my brushes rough or damage them in any other way. 😁

      Same! I've almost always used hand-dishwashing detergent, I feel it cleans better than makeup brush detergent.

    I love the idea of the little washer for barbie cloths!!!! I would have loved it growing up. Also ther is a thing you can plug into the wall and then you put the other end into what ever takes batteries. I use them for my fairy lights.

    I could see the little silicon bottle with brush possibly being useful for eggwash or melted butter as well when baking or preparing some bread dish etc

      Or cupcake pan! Though I would probably prefer paper liners. I’ve ruined many cupcake pans over the years by not using liners. ☺️

    • @ReyOfLight
      @ReyOfLight ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Beezer.D.B. I've hardly ever or even never used a paper liner in a spring form when making cakes, I just use butter and finely shredded coconut (or breadcrumbs) to coat the pan and the cake just lets go super easily! Only time I use paper is for cake in a brownie type pan or for cupcakes, but for the latter it's because it's easier to store and hold the cupcakes with than without

    • @Beezer.D.B.
      @Beezer.D.B. ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ReyOfLight- That makes sense because coconut would contain a lot of oil still! I think anyway. Would be tasty too! 😋

    I really enjoyed this video. I love shopping in Daiso. It’s just hard to get help when you don’t speak Japanese. Both the toy washer and the plunger gadget would come in handy for someone who washes their shoelaces, hair ribbons , a handkerchief , those eyeglasses wipes or itty bitty stringy undies. I have not shopped there in a while but I might have to drop by and look for some Christmas gifts 🎁

  • @redbirddeerjazz

    I love Daiso because the products are generally much higher quality and better designed than those from other “dollar” stores. We don’t have Daiso stores in the UK so when I moved to New Zealand I was so excited to buy lots of household items from my local Daiso.
    I have one of those fluffy headbands except mine has cat ears! 😸

    Can attest to the brush cleaner. I only quit using it because every time I go its sold out, so I gave up ETA: if you don't want to bother with the little machine, daiso also sells a little washing egg. It has several textures to wash brushes, and can even be used to get stains out of clothing. I love my little washing egg.

    The fluffer/whipped container can also be used as a pickle picker. Pour a jar of pickles in the container, then add the pickles on too of the tray. When you want a pickle, just lift the handle and pick a pickle. Less mess, and you are not fumbling around with your fingers or tongs to get that one pickle. 😂

    In Thailand, DAISO is known as the 60 baht store (about $1.70 at current xchange rates). I believe everything, unless marked with a higher price (and there are many items like that) is 60 baht. Every local area has what we call 20 Baht stores (about 60 cents) with most items 20 baht and some things a bit higher. I love DAISO just because browsing there is a trip but if when we need household items like clothes hangers or plastic ware..it's usually a better deal at the 20 baht local shops.

    We have Daisy here in SE Asia as well. I’ve been in the ones in Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines, but the ones in Japan are stocked even better! I just got back from Japan, with a set of 6 bamboo bowls for less than $12. The yen is a bit weaker to the dollar right now, so even in Malaysia, where it used to be about $1.50 for the main store, it is now less than $1.25. Their cooling racks and BBQ items are quite good quality!

Japan has _takoyaki,_ (southern) India has _neiyyappam,_ Denmark has _Abelskiver_ made from apples, (anyone from Denmark here, feel free to correct me on this) and the US has 'cake pops'... and its funny how each thinks that pan is unique for each item

And if it's for lubricating a pan those bristles wouldn't work that well, and now you've got oily bristles like just chillin in your cupboard. I've heard spray bottles get gross after awhile too but at least it's way more sanitary and effective

    A popular washing machine in the RV “nomads” lifestyle is very similar to your toy one, only bigger.
    And of course more durable so that you can actually wash a small load of clothes in it. Many have a spin dryer (I’m thinking Salad Spinner? 😂) built in right next to the washer that spins so well that many reviewers say the clothes are _almost_ dry. Most nomads carry a fold up expanding clothes rack for actual drying though.

    It’s surprising how often some of these Daiso(?) products make an appearance either here on emmys channel or on other platforms and then someone comments that they have had a very similar gadget hidden away at the back of their cupboards that they had passed down to them whenever an elderly relative has moved into a care home or they have passed away, then it becomes apparent that the old gadget is much more durable than its plastic modern counterpart for example, I have an old glass cylinder with a perforated metal disc attached to a metal rod which my mother received from a neighbour as a part of a wedding gift. It actually has a descriptive name printed on the glass cylinder that gives its use as a measuring and mixing device for making Horlicks hot milk drinks although I can only recall my parents using the device to prepare eggs prior to cooking omelettes or scrambled eggs although it is only big enough to hold 2 eggs but I have seen larger but identical versions displayed in antique shops. Personally I crack my eggs into an old clean jam or honey jar, put the lid back on and shake it like a cocktail mixer before adding them to a pan. I very much doubt that the gadget you used to make the foaming egg whites will still be in use ten years from now mine predates WW2 and probably WW1.

    I think the egg white foamer would be better at getting all the soap and makeup residue from the beauty sponge :)

    Air doesn't insulate. Air is the worst conductor of heat. It stops cooler air from conducting to the hot liquid. I could be wrong, but I swear ice melts much slower if it is not submerged in water.

    I love Bokksu! Have gotten some amazing treats from there.
    What did you think of the chocolate strawberry? It's one of my favorite things from Bokksu. I would love to know how they're made. You like food science, any ideas?🤔
