2015 civic coupe owner here with an s7 edge. Factory bluetooth audio with Spotify works fine(no apps downloaded). Did a little research, found that sygic also works just fine(shows up in apps on the cars touch screen), Bluetooth and usb connection needed, BUT cuts out Spotify audio. Just downloaded rockscout, figured it might work since sygic does and hopefully i can have navigation and music both from my phone. Will edit or update with a reply with results for those who stumble across this video as I did. Edit: it works just fine. Only needed the 2 apps (rockscout and sygic). Well, Spotify too, obviously. But hey mirrorlink is back in the game. For me, at least.
Have you delved any further into all of this? I'm like %85 of the way to fully mirroring my phone by abusing the incompatibility of an older APK of LG mirordrive(1.2.1.1 - just google it if you want to try it). Meaning, the car will try to boot it through mirrorlink, give an error message and close, but then I can see my S7's desktop on the car's screen, and even use the screen's touch function to mess around as if it were my phone. However, A) Video apps either only give audio or completely freeze/crash and B) Any time I try to open or change apps I get booted back to the Honda home screen. Reloading LG Mirrordrive will pop back up with the app I previously selected open and then you can continue to do stuff within that app, until you try to leave or change the app - in which case, rinse and repeat. Good for Google Maps or Waze or some app you would want to leave on for the duration of your drive, but not much else.
PLEASE NOTE. It seems as though the latest versions of mirror link (most phones newley released in 2015) are showing up as not compatible. I am in contact with Honda and MirrorLink trying to come up with a solution, however since Android is not officially supported there is no further development being done, especially with all future cars going to Android Auto. Still trying though, because I would also like to eventually change my phone and not my car!
Honda has no intentions of making the older version compatible with Android. With all the new cars going Android Auto, it seems us android users will eventually be SOL using mirrorlink.
I just got a 2016 Fit EX, yesterday and have realized that there is no Android Auto for it. I'm really bummed about it...I'll tinker with it. I can connect my phone for calls and audio (which works well), but I also want to be able to use navigation on the screen. I can connect my phone and hear turn by turn directions. Thanks for keeping us updated. While this non-compatibility stuff is getting on my nerves, it's not a deal-breaker for me, but I suspect it may be for many others.

Hi. You need to download the proper version for it to work. There are several of them. The one you want is called Sygic Car Navigation. The picture has a checked flag on it at the end of the road.
Question: will Samsung S7 MirrorLink work with 2016 Honda Pilot with HondaLink? I purchased a new 2016 Pilot without navi because the salesman explained Mirrorlink. So I purchased a new Samsung S7 with Mirrorlink on it but I can't get it to connect.
Your salesperson didn't know what he/she was talking about. The 16 Pilot is not compatible with mirrorlink or hondalink navigation for that fact. We are hoping the 2017 will have android auto and there will be an update to the 16 model. Nothing confirmed as the 2017 Pilot will be a late production model, probably not arriving until 2017. When the 2017 arrives look up the specs.
That's what I figured. It wasn't the deciding factor on either the Pilot or the S7 purchase but frustrating nonetheless. I guess I'll invest a few dollars in a car mount. Thanks for you help. I watched 10 videos on Mirrorlink and HondaLink and yours was the best by far.

Some people are having trouble connecting newer phones and are getting "phone not compatible" others are having success connecting after updating their devices. unfortunately, Honda has no intentions to work out the bugs because the systems were never really designed to work with android.

No idea my friend. When it disappears as an option here, we simply do a factory reset and it comes back. So try that, should be an option under the settings. Otherwise I guess you don't.

I just did the upgrade myself and everything seems to be working ok with my S5. Not sure what the issue is then. Did you reset your Honda and then reconnect?
+aaronzatformulahondadotcom I deleted the cache and data from app, restarted my phone, downloaded the app again, turned off my civic and turned it back on, and then I connected my phone to the car via USB cable and Bluetooth but still the app didn't work
Last thing to try is reset the civic radio. Home, Settings, Factory Reset. Delete the "hands free link" from your Bluetooth and re-connect. Its the last option I have then we have to chalk it up to your phone because mine is working fine with 6.0.1 running.

Simon Lee because this was never something official by Honda there were no updates provided, therefore the new phones don't seem to work consistently. Some have had luck while others have not.
You are the first to comment on that particular phone. Perhaps someone who has it will eventually have a solution for you. In the meantime, look up how to mirror phone while driving.

sierra ray. Unfortunately newer phones are not comfortable. It seems the last Samsung to work flawlessly was the S5, anything else is either not working or intermittently working.

2016 is different than this video as you can use android auto or apple car play. The connection is under the radio, you will see a picture of a phone at the USB jack.

The easiest way to get it back is to do a system reset. You will have to pair your phones again, but you will get the link connect back. To reset: Home; System; Arrow Up; Factory Reset

bonyzan2 Acc to SAMSUNG car mode app... their app is only supported by VW cars. Samsung Car Mode is available on mirrorlink.com but can only be utilised bh VW cars. Sometimes spontaneously car mode works but that screen doesn't last for longer than few seconds. For this first of all i have to open CAR MODE app on my mobile and parking brake should be ON.

Unfortunately, nothing will work after the expiration date on your display, it will only work on your phone.

Jazmin Martínez the only phone truly supported is the IPhone. Honda does not official support Android on the older models

I'd recommend downloading AutoMate from the android play store and not using this mirrorlink at all. AutoMate blows this away in every way!

Clear the memory, Uninstall rockscout and reinstall. Should work then. If not restart your phone.

I tried this with my Galaxy 6S it didn't work. It said "smartphone not compatible". I had to return my phone and purchase an iphone.

Arm rest won't work. Must be the one under the radio. Look up android auto civic on TH-cam. You will find something for sure.

Yes, if you use the hack to display through HDMI while driving, but you can't control your phone through the screen, only through your phone.

Hi i need your help my Link connect disappears from my screen how can bring it back?
I have never heard of that happening. Perhaps you need to do a factory reset in your settings menu.
I clicked on defult setting by mistake and then the link connect disappears

The easiest way to get it back is to do a system reset. You will have to pair your phones again, but you will get the link connect back. To reset: Home; System; Arrow Up; Factory Reset

It does if you have an older phone. Newer ones will not work anymore.

Acc to SAMSUNG car mode app... their app is only supported by VW cars.
Samsung Car Mode is available on mirrorlink.com but can only be utilised bh VW cars.
Sometimes spontaneously car mode works but that screen doesn't last for longer than few seconds. For this first of all i have to open CAR MODE app on my mobile and parking brake should be ON.
