Perseus (Sam Worthington) defeats Medusa (Natalia Vodianova) and takes her head.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The 1981 mythological fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans is resurrected in this remake from Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier. Discovered at sea as an infant by a weary fisherman, demigod Perseus (Sam Worthington) grows up with no real knowledge of his celestial origins until his watchful guardian, Io (Gemma Arterton), informs him that he is the offspring of Zeus (Liam Neeson). When Zeus' brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) casually wipes out Perseus' family, the grieving son vows to show the gods just what kind of damage humankind can inflict on its creators. Before long, Perseus and a small group of soldiers are venturing out into the desert in order to find a way to stop the Kraken, a terrifying force of nature that an indignant Hades has vowed to unleash upon man should they fail to offer up beloved princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos) as a sacrifice. I want medusa to have her own movie, just like Maleficent. people need to realize that Medusa was treated very wrongly that she isn't a bad creature, all she want was to be loved.

What a great line. They are out to kill Gods and hellish creatures. He wants them to know that mankind is no longer their pawn. That men are coming for them, and he wanted in his final moment to laugh in the face of his gods. Even if it meant he needed to die, he wanted the gods to fear mankind
What makes the scene even better is that earlier in the movie he's asked something like "Don't you ever smile?"
And he responds with "When I spit in the eyes of the gods, then I'll smile."
Good foreshadowing with a nice payoff!
that's why the Gods became mythology. Humanity forgot them and did whatever the hell they wanted. Including playing "God" themselves.

What I like about this depiction of Medusa is that she's armed and ready. Several centuries of people coming into your house to try kill you will force you to be prepared.
I also like her choice of weapon. Bow makes great sense, you can shot at the home invaders before they get close to you.

What I really liked about this is that they could actually depict the sadness in Medusa's face . Turning people to stone was something which was out of her control as the curse made her do that but every time we see her ' human ' face there always is an underlying sadness . As a student of animation I know how difficult that must have been but kudos to the animators for accomplishing that .

She was extremely beautiful, when she didn’t try to turn you to stone. They really did a great job with Medusa. Her handling of the Bow and Arrow is a nice touch. Love this movie.
Natalja Wodjanowa was a great cast for Medusa. At the time the movie was made she was in her prime and one of the most beautiful women on earth.

Something i also love about this movie's Medusa; her choice off bow and arrow for weapon is extra appropriate because it takes a decent amount of strength to use a bow, and snakes are almost entirely made of muscle!😊
I like how after her head was cut off she was still trying to kill him, just like what happens when you cut off an actual snakes head. Some snakes you can slice the meat out to eat and they’ll still be moving towards you.
I saw a snakes body still moving even after it had no head, skin, organs, and was on a spit on top of a fire, literally nothing but bone and muscle and still moving.
Snakes' head are still alive even after decapitation.

When Poseidon came to Medusa she ran to one of Athena's temples, but Poseidon caught her and violated her. Medusa called for Athena to save her. When Athena was alerted, she was disgusted by the position she found them, right at the feet of her statue. She couldn't do a thing about Poseidon as he was also a god. So she directed all her angry to Medusa. Since Medusa's beauty attracted Poseidon Athena turned her into this, so no man would look at her again.
Now Medusa hate Athena and everything about her.
Medusa retreated to where she is now to hide from everything. But warriors and warriors always traveled to kill her as prize and to have fame, but always failed at doing so. Medusa don't want to kill people, people want to kill her, so she have to defend herself..
About her death, you should feel nothing but pity for her..

Tray, this version is nothing compared to the 1981 Medusa by Harryhausen. Nothing.
Imagine if someone came to visit Medusa not to claim her head but because they felt remorse for her. Perhaps a blind man who was once a proud warrior until he lost his sight in an accident and was deemed useless afterwards. Medusa would be able to actually interact with this man because of his lack of sight and they would grow a bond. He would visit her frequently and both would later develop feelings for the other because both could relate to each other’s loss.

(Unless you have put a erection joke into it) According to "modern" myth it is reverse (mostly), Medusa was very beautiful young woman, so beautiful that Poseidon decided to rape her in Athena's temple, angry Athena took this offence out on Medusa (not very wise act in my eyes punishing the victim) and turned her so ugly that mere sight of her would literally petrify a person. Fun fact: she actually has two sisters, who were turned into Gorgons as well for siding with her sister and only Medusa was mortal.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is my favorite depiction of Medusa, bar none. She's human enough to make you remember her story. How even in her own personal hell, she's still hunted down like a monster. And she's so very human, in how she acts: her emotions, her facial expressions, and the sounds she makes. What really does it for me, is that you can see the fear and sadness cross her face when she's beheaded. I really have to applaud this depiction.

Should have changed the story by having Perseus talk to Medusa and ask for her help. Instead of being killed she is recruited. She has to wear a veil the entire time to avoid killing people, but her skills as an archer plus her desire for vengeance against the gods makes her a valuable ally.
Of course you'd also have a member of Perseus' inner circle that is sleazy, and you get the humor that he is the only one immune to being turned to stone because he will never look Medusa in her face

@@sammy_yammi592 I could see that. If anyone would have a motivation to say a giant F U to the Olympian gods, Medusa would. Not only was she cursed by Athena, but several of her siblings had been involved in trying to overthrow the gods at one point or another.
The original movie with its claymation is such a classic and so unique.
Hard to believe that there was a time when this was technically and stylistically impressive.

Medusa, a horrific monster, sometimes a cursed being, sometimes not, with a petrifying gaze gets killed by a mortal champion who needs her head for reasons.

Everyone talking about Medusa but no one paid attention to Drako's valiant sacrifice and his epic death saying: let them know that a human did it, he finally got his revenge and died as a true man mocking the gods.
I was just looking for that, one of the most badass scenes i saw as a child
It hits home when you remember a conversation near the very beginning of the movie. "Why don't you ever smile?" "I'll smile when I can spit in the face of the gods"...as he turns to stone he smiles.
I would have found a way other than that..

Medusa isn't the only Human Who Athena curse... There's also Arachnid 😆 a young lady who was so talented in weaving I think she Ask Athena for a friendly competition of weaving and she eventually beat the goddess but the goddess didn't like a human bested her so she cursed the young girl to be a spider...
Athena literally has issues if someone is above her Talent and Beauty especially if its a mortal...

@@dereenaldoambun9158 Medusa was born a gorgon, but gorgons were not half snake. They did have snake hair but they had normal legs. However in some other versions they also had Golden Wings or even were like centaurs. The movie made her half snake so as to make her more monstrous looking.
