RIP Mayor, he was such a calm and protective dog. I've been watching your channel for almost 5 years, and I'll miss seeing him in the background.

Man, is great to see you work with solid wood again, even if it's not fine furniture. It's always great to watch tou making joinery, and using hand tools, specially.
    Great job!

We lost our old dog called Chester this last year, my company was named after him. Always sad to have to let them go. I hope your Chester is every bit as good a family dog as ours was.

I love that thermory wood that you used on the deck and now door. It’s a nice chocolatey brown color. Always cool seeing your little man helping out.

Amazing work, Andy! The door looks beautiful! 😃
I really liked the step it has because of the different thicknesses!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Those doors look great, Andy. Have you found a replacement for Robert yet (or are you even looking)?

The doors look great with the modified ash Andy. Question about the deck: If you had built the entire deck with traditional or pressure treated lumber, what would the difference in cost be between the modified ash and traditional decking lumber? Also, how often do you have to oil the deck of the modified ash compared to traditional deck lumber? I'm sure you wife is glad that the deck is now completed. Sorry to hear about the passing of your four legged family member. When we had 2 40 lb terriers and 2 Papillions, 2 passed away in their sleep and 2 we had to put down. It is never easy to do, but the dogs quality of life I'm sure was so much better being with your family just as our 4 dogs life's were, Cheers from this old, retired coot living the dream in Tennessee.

The first few minutes of the video, I was distracted by the big white robot in the background. Oh wait, that's the dust collector.

Basic premise is that the wood is heated up to a point where it is much less prone to decay. Ash is typically the wood of choice because it retains its durability without crumbling like other woods do with the same treatment.

When you have the time you may want to cover your mortiser wiring, beautiful machine but eventually the wire will chaff and become an issue. Also never ever get your fingers near, NEVER pass your fingers hands arms body over the table saw blade. The Sawstop gimmick doesn't prevent kickbacks or stop flying wood ripping your fingers off. Things slip, distractions happen, people fall, pain hurts.
