Stoner Knight was actually in the second video too. Iirc they were one of the people who tried to help out RT with the Centipede Demon fight, and after being rejected they invaded in Catacombs.

@@glizzygulper8948 Ok so my knowledge on the lore is limited but from what I understand the race of gods have been shepherding humanity towards the flame to keep the fire going and the age of gods continuing (confusing right) so, by killing Gwyn and bringing in the dark you’re basically just letting nature run it’s course. The age of dark is not as bad as the gods (Gwyn) would have you believe. They’re just afraid that humanity will take over so tbh I feel like linking the flame is not exactly the “good” ending.

To be fair they weren’t exactly lying, if you attack her with something that won’t kill her in one hit she will retreat to the back of the cave and begin roasting you verbally
To add to what has been said, most people don't have nearly enough damage to kill her in one hit at the point in the game where you meet her. So there was probably a decent chunk of people who were legitimately surprised to see her die, since they thought it was impossible.
Gwyn is also one of the few bosses you can actually parry funny enough meaning you could have the most busted Zweihander and beat him using ONLY parrying. And you can get the Zweihander the moment you get to Firelink.

I never killed Gwyn, not because he was tough but because I was just so OP at that point I wanted to savour the endgame a bit more so I did like side-quests and stuff instead of killing Gwyn. I still to this day haven't bothered getting to NG+.

Going into Dark Souls with no knowledge, the game can seem extremely daunting. It's where it basically got its reputation from: Everyone who went into playing Dark Souls at its release were totally blind to all its quirks and idiosyncrasies. Dark Souls before and after playing it once or twice is a totally different ballgame. Once you know what you're doing, when you know where all the good items are and how to make a proper build and how to parry, the game becomes extremely trivial. You'll go entire playthroughs having only died once or twice from a stupid mistake and falling into the odd bottomless pit. Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 corrected this a fair bit just by virtue of making the game *a lot* faster.
16:15 "I gotta finish something like that. Just jump and smash." Despite this being said, the only people he did big hammer smash on were Big Hat Logan, the other dude that helps you learn spells, and like 2 enemies.
Thats my problem in these games too. Im good at learning the patterns and fighting the bosses perfectly but i get so tired of dealing with the common enemies that I try and slash through them quickly or run past them and i end up taking dumb damage that adds up
siegmeyer dies whether he's above or below half health if he's above he goes hollow in ash lake and his daughter is forced to kill him so you could say him dying to the demon cup puppies is better
Not in my first playthrough. Last I saw him he was at firelink shrine. I checked every other place he could be but couldn't find him. I assume his daughter found him before he went hollow and they're having a jolly good time defeating bosses together.

If he's at firelink i think you just saved him from anor londo so iirc now he's in the blighttown swamp and you need to give him some moss, afterwards his daughter is in a crystal golem in the archives, i won't spoil further. Solaire is the only NPC who can get a good ending, everyone else fucking dies and/or goes hollow and/or is miserable.
It’s unfortunate you killed Sif early because if you did the DLC first then you would’ve gotten a unique cutscene before fighting him where you and Suf have a heartfelt moment but unfortunately have to battle to the death
Wrong order maybe but he’s also using a weapon with a lot of base damage. Veterans make fun of this strategy because it’s noobish but it’s still effective if the upgrade in damage scales well.

0:48 while there are 4 Titanite Slabs that can be found in game (including DLC) they are also a very rare item drop from the New Londo Darkwraiths, it is possible albeit annoying to farm them. You can also farm Dragon scales and all the covenant items from various enemies (minus Gwynevere's covenant and Cat covenant) along with Demon Titanite from the 1 respawning Titanite Demon in Lost Izalith.
How Dan planned out what weapons and clearly(at least somewhat) knows what he's doing, but thought trying to trade a titanite slab to snuggly would work befuddles me

here's something that was bothering me, you can summon sif to help you in the fight and he appears as a phantom, most people you summon to assist you have their own worlds, does sif has his own dark souls world?
Dan: using the stupid strength weapons is the best build ever. Me sitting here with a smile having always used the biggest armor/shield/ and weapon I could find. And yes, the weapon is one handed so I can use the giant shield.
I started playing dark souls 3 after watching the stream of this, I gave up after getting frustrated but after this I believe in myself again. Thanks Dan the villain

@@TheMeTreeHouse Archer is not a build, bows exist only for you to pull enemies(except the crosbow you get from the final boss of the dlc, that thing can do actual damage with good arrows) and you never need to do that in ds 3( ds 2 had a couple places where they were useful, mainly the first dlc). The deprived is actually not a bad starting class since they have equal stat destribution for everything(although they aren't good for new players because of the bad starting equipment and they are outclassed by the knight and pyromancers since they don't waste points in luck)
@@shinysnivy6604 it wasn't just the build, I managed to get to the swamp but only after accidentally killing like 4 NPC's cuz they startled me including onion man who was my friend in my second run. I really only leveled Dex so I could shoot that dragon at the beginning. But by the time I got to the swamp it was such a grind, not to mention it's a hot spot for invasions, that I said fuck this game. I'm currently lv 100 something, and me and my handaxe I started with have killed everything, except for the giant boss cuz I didn't have the patience to hit him 5000 times. He is dead tho, I murdered him, with some sort of magic my character doesn't understand cuz he's a barbarian. It was a confusing time for him.
To complete the siegmeyer quest you have to have siegmeyer kill all the enemies himself which he cant do so you need to snipe almost all of them with a bow and leave the last one at like 1 hp and once it dies then you can drop down and continue siegmeyers quest.
im sure you're aware but doing the dlc with heavy armor and high strength is probably the easiest way to go, at least as far as i know. also great to have you back!

my biggest flex of all time is that i beat manus on my first go, with 13 estuses, while being completely unaware that i was, in fact, fighting probably the hardest boss in the game.
That's me with Gael in ds3. Except I knew he was a hard boss. I'd say that if you know in which stats to put points, upgrade your weapons and have good (functional) equipment, New Game becomes easy. Previous experiences with console games or souls games also counts.
I'm on my first playthrough of DS1 but I'm still watching because RT fucks over the cont and cheeses the combat so much that I don't feel like I'm getting anything spoiled.
Just for future reference, in regards to Onion Knight, you can go down before speaking to him and kill all but 1 squid dude. You can then speak to Onion Knight and kill the remaining squid. That will ensure that Onion Knight survives
One thing I have to say, because he took our fave NPC to Gwyn's fight, the age of light continues despite him walking away (solaire burns himself, burning a lot stronger than anyone else prolonging the age of light a lot longer than you would have)

Going into Dark Souls with no knowledge, the game can seem extremely daunting. It's where it basically got its reputation from: Everyone who went into playing Dark Souls at its release were totally blind to all its quirks and idiosyncrasies. Dark Souls before and after playing it once or twice is a totally different ballgame. Once you know what you're doing, when you know where all the good items are and how to make a proper build and how to parry, the game becomes extremely trivial. You'll go entire playthroughs having only died once or twice from a stupid mistake and falling into the odd bottomless pit. Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 corrected this a fair bit just by virtue of making the game *a lot* faster.

Thats my problem in these games too. Im good at learning the patterns and fighting the bosses perfectly but i get so tired of dealing with the common enemies that I try and slash through them quickly or run past them and i end up taking dumb damage that adds up

Not in my first playthrough. Last I saw him he was at firelink shrine. I checked every other place he could be but couldn't find him. I assume his daughter found him before he went hollow and they're having a jolly good time defeating bosses together.

If he's at firelink i think you just saved him from anor londo so iirc now he's in the blighttown swamp and you need to give him some moss, afterwards his daughter is in a crystal golem in the archives, i won't spoil further. Solaire is the only NPC who can get a good ending, everyone else fucking dies and/or goes hollow and/or is miserable.

Btw, Red Kite Dragon is LITERALLY broken. He can teleport from his perch to the bridge due to a bug, meaning you can instantly die in a blink.

0:48 while there are 4 Titanite Slabs that can be found in game (including DLC) they are also a very rare item drop from the New Londo Darkwraiths, it is possible albeit annoying to farm them.
You can also farm Dragon scales and all the covenant items from various enemies (minus Gwynevere's covenant and Cat covenant) along with Demon Titanite from the 1 respawning Titanite Demon in Lost Izalith.

If my memory is correct it’s titanite chunk not titanite slab. So that’s why it didn’t work.

@@TheMeTreeHouse Archer is not a build, bows exist only for you to pull enemies(except the crosbow you get from the final boss of the dlc, that thing can do actual damage with good arrows) and you never need to do that in ds 3( ds 2 had a couple places where they were useful, mainly the first dlc). The deprived is actually not a bad starting class since they have equal stat destribution for everything(although they aren't good for new players because of the bad starting equipment and they are outclassed by the knight and pyromancers since they don't waste points in luck)
@@shinysnivy6604 it wasn't just the build, I managed to get to the swamp but only after accidentally killing like 4 NPC's cuz they startled me including onion man who was my friend in my second run. I really only leveled Dex so I could shoot that dragon at the beginning. But by the time I got to the swamp it was such a grind, not to mention it's a hot spot for invasions, that I said fuck this game. I'm currently lv 100 something, and me and my handaxe I started with have killed everything, except for the giant boss cuz I didn't have the patience to hit him 5000 times. He is dead tho, I murdered him, with some sort of magic my character doesn't understand cuz he's a barbarian. It was a confusing time for him.

To complete the siegmeyer quest you have to have siegmeyer kill all the enemies himself which he cant do so you need to snipe almost all of them with a bow and leave the last one at like 1 hp and once it dies then you can drop down and continue siegmeyers quest.
im sure you're aware but doing the dlc with heavy armor and high strength is probably the easiest way to go, at least as far as i know.

To be fair, heavy armor and STR is the easiest way to go about the whole game, not just the DLC lol.
An INT sorcery build is also really easy. Crystal Soul Spears nuke everything in 4-5 blasts.

That's me with Gael in ds3. Except I knew he was a hard boss. I'd say that if you know in which stats to put points, upgrade your weapons and have good (functional) equipment, New Game becomes easy. Previous experiences with console games or souls games also counts.

Just for future reference, in regards to Onion Knight, you can go down before speaking to him and kill all but 1 squid dude. You can then speak to Onion Knight and kill the remaining squid. That will ensure that Onion Knight survives
