Follow up re: the driver test. I did the PXG Challenge with Rafe Walker, the PXG Master Fitter for my part of the country. I will state from the beginning that at no time was he hard selling me on the driver. Instead, we took our time, I hit some wedges to warm up on followed by 9-10 shots with my driver. Then we tried multiple shafts and changed the weights on the club head. Two shafts stood out from the others-a Ventus Red shaft and a stock MCA Diamond 60g shaft. Rafe pointed out that the difference in my results for distance and dispersion between the two was minimal and since the Ventus was $ 300.00, he recommended I go with the stock shaft. Obviously, Rafe wasn't interested in upselling me and I really appreciated the honesty. After all of that, it was an easy decision to purchase the Black Ops driver because this was the best club fitting I have ever had.

On March 5th, I'll be doing the PXG challenge where I demo a Black Ops driver and if it isn't more accurate or gives me more distance, they'll give me $ 100.00. PXG gives me a 15% discount because I'm a Veteran, so if does give me more distance, I'll be getting a new driver.
yes I took that into account using flight scope trajectory optimizer. You can input local conditions. It gives 247 carry 260 total with those launch conditions. I just don't think this is really representative of what people are going to see when they test it with 150 ball speed. @@embersgolf
Im playing Black-Ops Tour up from Gen 4 XT. Great driver massive improvement from Gen 4. I understand PXGs "roll & bulge" to be twist face. Ive also played a stealth plus and Sim 2, The black ops tour to me plays as an improved forgiveness Stealth +.
Great review! When you do the hybrid review can you compare Gen 6 regular and XF vs Black ops? I think it's interesting that they said AMF to the XF models this year. I love my XF hybrids, have a gen5 in the bag and just got fitted in December (up in Canada) for two more Gen6 XF hybrids with Graphite Design DI shaft upgrades. In this case I'm ok pocketing the savings and putting it towards a premium shaft where I will realize bigger net gains overall in launch and dispersion. They perform incredible. I suspect the gains on the black ops hybrid will be a very small increment vs gen 6 as its a fantastic hybrid that already feels like its on steroids.
Do you guys sell your prior gen heads? If you want to blow out the Gen6 XF driver head in 10.5 I might be interested (and you ship to Canada). I love the matte look and think the piano finish of black ops was a step backwards, especially if you tend to play in mostly sunny environments. But maybe some people love it, I just don't care for more distractions on my tee shots.
You guys don’t know what bulge is referring too. Here’s the definition - “What is bulge and roll? Bulge is the curvature of the clubface from the heel to the toe. Roll is the curvature of the face from the crown of the club to the sole.” Nothing to do with the top of the club head.
That is true, but from an amateurs perspective we kind of want to see data from all over the face because that is what mid/high handicappers are doing on the course so we like to see a very natural comparison to help get the most 'real' data. We should almost split it up maybe. Do a quick overview with every shot in the data, then take out the miss hits and compare again 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for sharing Paul

How are you getting 264 carry and 290 total on 150 ball speed, 2399 spin, with 11.7 launch. Something isn't right
