I love Petunia’s expressive eyes! She is the pesky little sister. When Tulip pushes her off, she goes to Holley for comfort and safety. Yet Petunia is persistent. Such a brave little fuzzball! When she’s eating broccoli, Tulip gets herself a piece of broccoli!
Dear sweet Tulip, bless her huge heart and trusting nature. She can't make up her mind whether she wants to huff in indignation or croon soothingly! 😊 She allowed Petunia to get into the food bowl unchallenged so the future friendship is looking bright. Feisty little Petunia, very patient and respectful waited her turn at the food bowl.....she is one smart little beaver for all her young age. I love how she followed Tulip around the den, like a kid sister trailing after big sister. ❤😊

Petunia's overwhelming confidence and Tulip's patience are definitely a testament to what a great job Dr. Holly has done. They both know that she wouldn't let anything happen to them ❤️ I only hope that Stormy feels the same soon. I know it will take much more time (I often wonder if she's had negative experiences with humans before her life here. ) I'm sure being given meds is a strange experience for a wild beaver, but I hope she feels better and understands it's all in her best interest soon ❤️🩹
Tulip has gone from the noisiest most protective food eater to someone who doesn't care. I would have thought that someone else getting into her food bowl would have been a death sentence. I think she really likes Petunia.
I think it is like with bears where if there is adequate food they tolerate others
Lol I noticed she was only interested in the broccoli after Petunia grabbed some 😂 Tulip really is being very patient after being the only beaver for so long, I think she's a bit annoyed but understands Petunia is just a baby and deserves some patience. I'm not sure how much I could deal with someone climbing on my back while I'm trying to swim. Overall very happy with how the friendship is progressing ❤

@@Bloodnok49 I know 😅 Tulip is small for her age and Petunia is a very well fed baby 😂 in the wild it's normal for the baby to hang out on the parents back and observe normal day to day construction of the dam and such when they are too small to participate. So Petunia definitely decided that Tulip is going to be her teacher on how to be a beaver, but Tulip is like "I didn't give birth to you!" 😅 Which is fair 😂 I would be more worried if it wasn't in the water, as if Tulip couldn't support the weight she would sink. I'm just glad Petunia isn't trying to play with Tulip like she did her bunny 😅

Baby beavers do ride on their parents back in the wild, staying safe and observing proper construction techniques for dam building and such ❤️ Petunia has definitely decided that Tulip is to be her teacher on how to be a beaver.

Tulip is so gentle even though she was obviously annoyed by Petunias clingingness. Surprisingly, she didn't have a problem with Petunia raiding her food bowl for broccoli. Great to see Stormy, as always.

Poor Princess Tulip! Plucky Petunia has clearly decided that she and Tulip belong together, before Tulip has had time to get her head wrapped around the whole concept. But despite all the loud complaining, and a bit of hissing, Tulip has been so gentle and sweet with the new baby. You can almost see little thought bubbles, like when Petunia just clambered right inside Tulip's food bowl - Tulip clearly rolls her eyes, lets out a long-suffering sigh, and slumps away muttering "For the love of Pete, can't a beaver have her dinner in peace anymore?" The next thing that is guaranteed to happen, any day now: Tulip and Petunia will be hanging out, Tulip will focus on grooming herself for a minute, and when she turns around...Petunia will be sacked out, on her back, using Tulip as a pillow, napping like the professional she is. I'm looking forward to seeing that! 💕🌷🦫 💕🏵️🦫 💕🌪️🦫 💕💚 💕💙
Petunia is a huggy little fluff ball. Tulip is thinking "Who is this person following me around and eating my food?" Even getting in my food bowl - that was hilarious! Tulip isn't quite as enthusiastic as Petunia atm but she is being patient, and not unkind, considering Tulip was on her own for a while so has to get used to this little cutie! Lovely watching them ❤❤❤

Tulip is so gentle and patient with Petunia, but if you could read Tulip's mind, it's like she's thinking "every time I turn around, There She Is..." Tulip is loved So much, and with Petunia, it's like we get a second chance at seeing Tulip as a baby. It's the best of both worlds! Every time I watch these videos I am always smiling and chuckling at the girl's antics. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤

Well done to Holley and family for all the patience and hard work, it must be so rewarding to see things coming together so well. The results speak for themselves. It's early days, but with reassurance from her human family, Tulip is being very accommodating and patient. It's clearly a big step for her, but she's making great strides. As for Petunia, I think this little "gremlin" has definitely decided she has a new big sister. 😂❤❤

I only discovered the joy of rodents in the last couple of years, and I am constantly amazed at their intelligence, adaptability and personality. I have Chunk the Groundhog to thank for my new obsession! Now it's beavers, groundhogs/marmots, and prairie dogs. Absolutely love these wonderful creatures. ❤

Tulip definitely has some split feelings on being a big sibling but these interactions have been great for both Tulip and Petunia!
LOL 😂 i cant work out if Tulip liked swimming with Petunia or not 😂, Petunia seemed to like playing with her.
Tulip is fantastic though , maybe a few moans but on the whole seemed to accept Petunia with no aggression , maybe we might see her tell Petunia off once in a while in the future , maybe as a way of teaching her but on the whole very promising.
I still have a suspicion because they are around Holley that they can smell her on each other , introducing Stormy might be harder as she will have a more wild beaver smell.

I hope Stormy comes out of her shell again, it was nice seeing her out in the daytime , she seems to have regressed into staying in again.
I think the meds may make her feel a little funky. Rest and food are best for her. I'm sure she will be up and moving around again soon, it did look like she was rebuilding the hammock a bit again the other day. ❤️🩹

Holley has said the family have bought this massive piece of land so their rescue beavers can live semi-wild in safety. However, Tulip might never be released even that much because her immune system was damaged and her growth is stunted. She is only around 2/3rds size and has stopped growing because her bone plates have already fused like an adult.

Yes I believe she said that if they all become a happy beaver family she will do a soft release. Soft releases are when they are still at home but have access to the wild. They can choose for themselves to come and go. Ideally they will all stay together and watch out for each other, which increases the likelihood of success. But if they like it there and don't feel confident out in the world they can stay as long as they like. I believe she has previously released two other beavers over a year ago in the same manner.
@@natashaw401 She spent all her growing energy in her first 9 months of life staying alive through that awful infection. Everyone (I think) assumed she would catch up until Holley broke the news her bone plates had fused as though she were already an adult. 🥺
@@mom.left.me.at.michaels9951 Huck, Finn and Sawyer.....there hasn't been an update on them in a while. I wonder if they ever graduated from soft release to fully wild living. They were sent to another beaver rehabber who already had the kind of soft release set-up that Holley is building now. Just my feeling, but I think having to say goodbye to Huck, Finn and Sawyer promoted building their own Sanctuary. People like the Muraco family don't come along too often. Wonderful people moving their entire lives to protect animals and the environment at that life-changing level.
Were they both making noises when they were swimming together? There was some growling and Tulip's usual higher pitched voice.
Petunia doesn’t speak beaver yet, so she doesn’t understand it when Tulip tells her to back off. They are both being so accommodating. I think it’s because they each have smelled the scent of the other on you, Holley, for a long time.

I think the meds are just making her feel funky and tired. She was out in her hammock the other day and letting Holly pet her. As long as she keeps eating I'm happy, and I'm sure as soon as she's healthy and Dr. Holly is sure she isn't contagious she will get back to playtime and hopefully another great introduction for all the beavers ❤
