The 5 Main Branches Of The Family | Honkai Star Rail Lore

- In honkai star rail, the main faction that follows the aeon of harmony, xipe is the family. Unlike other factions, the family is the only group that follows this specific aeon and they seem to be a singular and monolithic group. In truth however the family is actually made up of 5 branches each with their own functions and goals. So in this video we are going to explore the 5 main branches of the family, specifically the oak family, the bloodhound family, the nightingale family, the alfalfa family and the iris family and see what each groups main role is and how they fit into honkai star rails over all lore
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

If you think about it, it makes sense that the Family would have branches that mimic other major factions (e.g. Alfalfa -> IPC, Bloodhounds -> any military/security force, Nightingales -> Intelligencia Guild), because Harmony seeks to be able to do all things themselves (either by their in-house talent or by recruiting talented outsiders). In that way, Harmony is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades faction.
It actually makes even more sense when you think about the fact that the family wants everyone to be a part of them
Makes sense why their characters can buff, debuff (Ruan Mei), and damage (numerous others)
In the history of Penacony there has been 7 Family lineages.
There is secret dialogue when interacting with each individual Nightingale statue to unlock Sunday’s room. It talks about the first head of each Family but it mentions a very specific one the “Shadow Family” there has been one head ever, and they are a pathstrider of the Enigmata.
This dialogue can only be seen once, and after interacting with them all there is a sequence of Dialogue from a mysterious messenger, stating not to believe the information just given saying there is no such thing as the Shadow Family, saying “don’t believe everything you hear, seeing is believing”
Dewlight Pavillion has a bunch of lore with the readable items.
It brings up the watchmaker having abilities of the Enigmata as well as I believe 4 emanator of Harmony/Order.
I believe on such emanator will be Sunday based on the readable “A Hymn of Charmonic Strings”
Either way, history fictionologists are in Penacony, so believing everything said is foolish
Its pretty interesting that we know literally every family head with the exception of the bloodhound family

If you look at the crow like statues again and click on each it tells you about the family and reveals there is a 6th family that are the shadows pulling schemes :O

If anyone is interested , please visit the nightingale statues again. There's some more information there. After visiting all six, go back to the first one. I wonder if what they say then is foreshadowing of some sort.
I wonder if Sunday is actually a Nightingale, given what Aventurine said about the statues resembling Nightingales more than Eagles.
That is an interesting possibility, theres also the birds that he hints are his servants which seems to also be a possible reference to the nightingales. Maybe he was one before he got transfered to oak
in the dream of Sunday’s where he explains the history of the Family on Penacony, he said that “Tree, Grass, Flower, Fruit, Bird, Insect, and Beast” all lived in Harmony.
Tree- Oak Family
Grass- Alfalfa Family
Flower- Iris Family
Fruit- Blackplum Family (extinct)
Insect- Lampmoth Family (extinct)
Beast- Bloodhound Family
he explains that two of the families, Blackplum and Lampmoth, both fell leaving the 5 families that exist today

Perhaps, it is like DHIL. He is decendant of Long the Permanance and like a blue blood irl. He is chosen as High Elder and gain strong power.
Before the crisis, Dan Feng send the giant tree and teleport the massive damage to Vidyadhara.
Resulted him to be hailed as traitor.
The Vidyadhara, also known as Long's Scions, are a humanoid long-life species with draconic features descended from Long, the deceased Aeon of Permanence.
So perhaps this "family" is like that in xianzhou luofu with Sunday as DHIL. The name is different but that means Sunday may possess extremely high power that is because he is halovian. It might be like Long, I suspected halovian might be decendant of a deceased Aeon.
Just like DHIL said, not everyone can be dragon and gain extreme power. So perhaps that is applied to Sunday and make him the leader of the Oak Family.
That is what I think about Sunday. It can also be like Jingyuan who possess great power from Aeon Hunt despite being erudition unit. So, Sunday might obtained strong power like DHIL or Jingyuan. Therefore, he become a leader in penacony.

Upon clearing various side-quests in Penacony, it seems that everyone is miserable in this, so joining the Family is a hard pass for me.
