41:22 Kari's reaction is perfectly synched to the narrator calling her out and the follow up line about stop using the word failure is perfectly edited.
it behaved close enough for the forces they were intending to test, the carbon tubes act slightly more like bone (and slightly more constantly) in this test scenario
I wonder how today's hands-free setups would compare in terms of distraction. For me, it depends on the conversation I'm having; there are times that even with hands free, I still pull over to the side of the road because I know the conversation the other person is trying to have with me is distracting me too much. But then again, I'm in my mid-50's, and I suspect that I am less able to multi-task effectively than I might have been 20 years ago. Or maybe just more cautious at this stage in the game!!
I think because hands free acts more like a conversation with a passenger in the car, you don't have to coordinate handling a phone as well as a giant machine. I'm really bad at talking to a passenger while driving but I'm still a learner
Many times safer would be to have the seats face the rear of the aircraft - that's why military planes are set that way. Commercial airline seats face fwd for aesthetic passenger- relations reasons only.
And because of debris, as they said. On a military flight it's easy to tell everyone to stay buckled in and not have anything loose (or in hands). Commercial... Not so much
If i remember correctly, the Australian production team who where thebones who pushed for these drunk driving myths. Many of america production and managers didnt like the vibe it all but the aussies knew it be good banter
In the beginning when yhey are talking about the experiment, they already have the plan for the test drawn and written on the desk in front of them. Cameraman notices it and zooms in on the hosts.

Buster can't tense the muscles in his legs. I wonder if that would make a difference one way or the other to the broken leg situation. Since surely a human would be completely tensed up in this scenario.
it seems like driving test in america is a lot more difficult... i never had thing like "lane change" or "accident avoidance test" in my local driving test..
The lanes in these tests were so unforgiving, it just turned out ridiculous to me. American roads typically have at least 9 by 6 inch lanes minimum, tractor trailers are 8 feet wide by comparison. Couple that with a car they hopped in that more than likely they had never driven before.. it was more of a public safety message than anything to me.

Driving while calling or driving drunk and driving drinking, even? Get some Greeks to show you how. Here in Greece no one cares, the police don't the traffic police don't... they have it covered either "we do not have enough people to patrol" or "we cannot stop cars and cause a traffic problem". What i really learned from this episode is that humans are way more resilient than many believe
Both at once surprisingly resilient, and terrifyingly fragile!
And MythBusters were far less valuable than in later series
I squint every time they play Tori's "Bike stunt". Looked like it hurt so bad :'3
I agree
While that hurts, do you remember him hitting his knee on that building?
@@ichiroutakashima4503i remember wincing after seeing the blood stain :/
It's. x'3
If you watch episode, he was alright after that. Got lucky, didn't even scrap much of the skin.
I mis-read the title of the last chapter as
"Human Tests & Concussions".

Wow.... They slid in a looooot of stuff like this.

hear "Remy Its Raining Men (Boeing Parody)" zf8LkBWEEQ8 its an awesome song
The "Can I get a close up?" cameraman was on a mission from God himself.
Didn't they put the wood in, when they made the new buster, because it behaves exactly like bone??!!
It's similar to bone but also mainly it's easier and cheaper to replace than the full metal skeleton. The carbon tubes break 'more' like bone
The wood breaks at the same pressure as bone but the carbon tube breaks like a bone, rather than shatter.

Great episode!
So sad Grant passed away so young!

This isn't season 2 since it has Grant instead of Scottie
Ain't that a blessing 🙏
I was curious about this myself, I did a quick check and Season 2 Episode 20 was Grants very first episode appearance.
UK military used to seat facing backwards.
Okay, but who are the Mythbusters?
I heard they don't just tell the myths. But I'm not sure what else they do

This has to be one of the very early season
all the crashed planes in this episode looks like McDonnell Douglas planes🤣
Prolly the Death Causer 10 mostly lol

You have sharp eyes, what with the very low quality of this video.
Those tended to be filmed last and in batches there are a few continuity errors across the course of the show
They filmed the blueprint-parts last.
I'll like to do that test, seems to be funny
Kari was flying with Tyler Durden, apparently.
RIP Grant
Adam and Kari seemed drunker during the phone test than they did after they'd actually had some drinks 🤣
these cellphones really says when the episode was made lol
The instructor is checo perez in a parallel universe
Looks like Grant's first appearance in Mythbusters

they redid the cellphone vs drunk myth later on

kari always act like a teen numb which is ironic to her looks.
The woman in the show is really beautiful - especially her profile. I changed Tsemppis on in all episodes.
That's the only reason she is in the show, she doesn't have any discernable skills lol
