Chadd, what an awesome review of the Meepo V5! 🚀 It's fantastic to hear your thoughts and experiences with our board, especially as a longtime Meepo rider. We're thrilled that you appreciate the quality and reliability of our products. Thank you for taking the time to create such an insightful review, especially during the winter months. Keep up the great work, and happy riding!
I’ve decided to get back into skateboarding as a whole and have been researching like crazy to get up to speed. I have a fiery passion for this kind of hobby and would love to get an electric longboard. I like how detailed the review is and was wondering if the v5 is better for taller and heavier people?
The length of the board will definitely play a big part in helping you learn, though the v5 isn’t “practically” a different size than the v3. You need a wider stance and a smoother throttle for learning, compared to a smaller, lighter rider, right. So my recommendation is to stay away from minis, mostly. The v5 or v3s would be just fine. Just make sure to tighten those trucks down in the beginning 🤙
@@ChaddRainsFPV I appreciate the reply, got one coming next week and I can’t wait to try it! Is there any wheel recommendations for a better experience or is stock okay for starting out?
There’s this park down the street from us with a big loop. She points out everybody playing soccer, waves hi to everyone we pass and she loves it. Highly recommend 🙌
Stuck between meepo v5 (dislike the remote), veymax roadster x4 (feel that the jelly like tires will be cool), & wowgo 2s max. Aiming for speed and comfortability for an 6-8 mile one way commute. Please help 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I don’t have experience with the other two boards but it looks like the Veymax is really nice, but more expensive than the V5 and the wowgo. I’d probably recommend a v3s over all those 3 honestly since speed is higher up on the list for you and I know the ESC and ‘throttle feel’ are important at high speeds. It’s about the same as the veymax but looks like it’s ESC will be better, and that will keep you safer 🤙
I've had my V3 for years too but last year the connection started cutting out on me, i opened it up and noticed a wire rubbed through on the capacitor and I thought I found the issue. Ordered and installed a new motherboard for it and it was working great for a while again until the remote started not braking at times, and it would lock to full speed at 30mph i would have to jump off and let it shoot into the street or brace for it and ride it out, that was terrifying but i was using it to commute so i put up with it for as long as I could. Did you ever notice anything like that with your V3 and has the V5 been free of issues like that?
Dude! That is the scariest issue that eskateboards can face imo. I haven’t had any issues like that at all, but I will say that I’m pretty easy on my board. No curb jumps and minimal water. I also look inside my board from time to time just to make sure everything is safe. The v5 has been solid and it actually feels a bit better now, than the the first week of riding. Kind of ‘wore it in’ haha. Good luck with the next board man, whichever you get. Stay safe 🤙
Either should be able to “out-range” your video system. I’d recommend ELRS since it’s cheaper and has more features but crossfire is fine too and has more “ theoretical range “ than 2.4ghz elrs
Sale ended by now, but I’ll update the coupons in the description when I can. Just an update too: I got nearly 100 miles on it already and it’s rock solid 🤙
I lost all trust when you said you are sure that improved the wheels on the newer model so you're giving it to the v5. If you didn't feel any improvement then don't give extra points. That's like you admitting to the placebo effect

Bought this board and the drive wheel literally shredded off after 3 miles? Anybody else have this issue?
Do you think Elrs module can get longer range than crossfire module in fpv rc car
