I've had 5 babies ranging from 2012 to 2022 and I can tell you, I'd rather have an 80 year old nurse than one in her 20s. They suck and they don't care about pain or problems. They ignore mom's with nursing problems and when you say you need pain meds they're like, "we do Tylenol." WHAT?!? I don't even take that for period pains, let alone after birth uterus shrinking pain.
That's corporate policy in my area. One hospital corporation owns most of the doctor offices, and they have decreed that the doctors can't prescribe pain meds. I have arthritis and can't get anything at all for it.

It's a joke, even when I was in H.S. back in the 80's. I know I certainly could have used somebody who told me the truth instead of what I wanted to hear. I cerainly feel like I was failed by the "counseling" office.
I had a friend who has been a counselor. He was pretty good at it. He came from a working class family. His father made him work those summer industrial jobs companies used to offer the children of their employees. He also got a hard science degree before entering teaching. He got his teaching credentials part time while working. So I think we need more non-traditional educators.
We need counselors who help to actually get a job. Doesn’t do any good to figure out what job you want to do if you have no clue how to get, and keep, the dream job. I think the college I graduated from eventually started helping with job placement, but when I went there it was a figure it out environment. Job seeking should be a series of classes, especially since the process of applying for employment has drastically changed in the last 20 years!

I made the mistake of continuing my college education in my late 30s and I can confirm, gen z kids are difficult to work with. Every time I got with a new team for a project I had to install a different social media app on my phone to communicate. I suggested they just stick with Microsoft Teams and they insisted on using watsap, discord and facebook.
I've returned twice. They're worse each time. Here an app, there an app, everywhere an appity app. Don't forget your authentication code sent to your email, to get your pin number, and don't forget to download another app that does just one thing and i have to create an account to use it. But when I organised an actual social meeting face to face, "sorry but I didn't see your message."
It's funny how these cell service providers have granted us all phone numbers that allow direct communication of voice and video and yet still people need to have a public display and funnel every communication transcribed in text for them through some corporate server.

My son-in-law and daughter started a small franchise business and she and her husband never dreamed hiring young people was going to be their biggest problem. They would come in to interview, some with their mothers and tell my daughter what hours and days they would work or they would not just show up for work and not notify her. My daughter and son-in-law are both kind, generous people so that was not the problem. They were just blown away at the lack of work ethics. Around my area, they just can’t get kids to deliver papers, work in fast food or grocery stores. Their parents must be handing out so much money poor Johnny or Janie don’t have to work.

Facts. My oldest is in his early 20s and he is totally self sufficient. If nobody helps them they must help themselves. He is thriving. He made bad choices when he was younger but he has really turned it around lately and I'm so impressed with him.

My daughter is a welder. The company has a high turnover. The young guys coming in with dyed hair and unusual piercings usually leave the job in less than a month. My other daughter is an auto mechanic- young guys being hired just stop showing up for work with no warning. On the other side of this-- my two college student sons cant find jobs. Its a mess! (They were working, but then let go because "Covid", then their next jobs they were let go because "supply issues". Ugh.) My family are really hard workers and its very strange how its working out in 2023.
Let's put the blame squarely where it belongs. Bad parenting. My son was born in 2001. He's one of the smartest young people I know. He's pursuing several degrees while working full time. He had plans that include a mission to Mars some day. He invests. This is a child who never conformed to public school. I pulled him out when he was 16 and enrolled him in an adult education program in a local college, where he promptly got his diploma in under 2 months. He has an amazing grasp on an amazing variety of world and social issues. Yet, he's maligned and persecuted. Mainly because he's a white young man. He doesn't let that slow him down at all!
Glad I went to trade school. I never stopped working during covid and didn't really care about it. I actually worked more and realized that my job is super secure. Nobody knows how to fix anything anymore and most people don't want to work that hard.

The recruiter should have told her that the 3rd interview isn't really an interview. It is a little bit of face time with the big boss so he is aware of who is being hired at his expense. From the candidate perspective, it is only fair to do only two. Why should anybody be dragged into a real third interview? We all have our limits. I would also not bother with the third unless the company has a stake in wasting my time.

My daughter is a welder. The company has a high turnover. The young guys coming in with dyed hair and unusual piercings usually leave the job in less than a month. My other daughter is an auto mechanic- young guys being hired just stop showing up for work with no warning. On the other side of this-- my two college student sons cant find jobs. Its a mess! (They were working, but then let go because "Covid", then their next jobs they were let go because "supply issues". Ugh.) My family are really hard workers and its very strange how its working out in 2023.

Let's put the blame squarely where it belongs. Bad parenting. My son was born in 2001. He's one of the smartest young people I know. He's pursuing several degrees while working full time. He had plans that include a mission to Mars some day. He invests. This is a child who never conformed to public school. I pulled him out when he was 16 and enrolled him in an adult education program in a local college, where he promptly got his diploma in under 2 months. He has an amazing grasp on an amazing variety of world and social issues.
Yet, he's maligned and persecuted.
Mainly because he's a white young man.
He doesn't let that slow him down at all!

Glad I went to trade school. I never stopped working during covid and didn't really care about it. I actually worked more and realized that my job is super secure. Nobody knows how to fix anything anymore and most people don't want to work that hard.

My 19 year old son works hard and home ng to college . He told me most of the people he works with are always late or take off and he fills there spot . I'm glad he's like eager to work and earn his own money while learning a skill he wants to do in his future ..

The recruiter should have told her that the 3rd interview isn't really an interview. It is a little bit of face time with the big boss so he is aware of who is being hired at his expense. From the candidate perspective, it is only fair to do only two. Why should anybody be dragged into a real third interview? We all have our limits. I would also not bother with the third unless the company has a stake in wasting my time.

This process assures strong physicians who are in their mid 30's when able to start independent practice. I spent most of my medical career clinically training young physicians.
