Jimmy & John make most Aussies proud to be an Aussie. And the fact that both of them remained down to earth & humble throughout their careers is a testament to their character.
This is what happens when an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an American have a few drinks in a bar.All Aussies.Mark Lizotte is the New York born guitarist and brother in law of Jimmy Barnes.John Farnham is one of the most gifted singers ever born. Barnesy, with Tina Turner made the best recording of Simply the Best. All 3 in this video are certified legends.
True.. but they got their groove on in Oz.... Took living and growing up Aussie to bring out the brilliance... :D They would have been lost anywhere else...
You're correct bro. John Farnham is known simply as "the voice" here in Australia. Plenty of amazing singers here in Oz, but not with the range of Mr Farnham. Much love to Jimmy B who is a legend in his own right. AND, thank you for your awesome reviews! Keep up the good work uso! 🇦🇺🇼🇸🇺🇸👊🏾
Holy crow I love this! I know who John Farnham is and love his voice but I don't believe I've ever heard of Jimmy Barnes and I absolutely love this voice. I don't know who requested this but what a great choice!
Checkout Farnsy & Barnsy dueting "When the war is over" Jimmy Barnes has released some great hits under his name as well as front man to "Cold Chisel" band. Like Farnsy, he also released some great hits such as Khe Sahn, Flame Trees, Cheap wine, just to name a few.
Always listen to John live. This is great, but find John & Jimmy on TH-cam singing this live on Hey, Hey it's Saturday (with a guitar solo from Jimmy's brother in law Diesel) and feel the difference. I'm telling you this because you deserve to see them at their best.
True story. Jimmy Barnes has a very powerful voice, he's basically screaming most of the time in tune. The guitarist is Diesel, another really great Australian artist. The three of them in the recording studio had been drinking and smoking cigars all afternoon, just right for greasing up the vocal chords. Jimmy Barns input was set to 7, John farnhams was set to about 4.5. And yet Farnham easily still blitzes Barnsey for absolute sheer vocal power. Barnsey is brilliant but Farnham is a singing god.
Three of Australia's finest right there: Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham and Jonny Diesel on guitar (he is also a fine singer and well worth checking out!) Jimmy Barnes is so into Soul music that he named his first born Mahalia, after Mahalia Jackson!
@@carolcarol3938 Seen Diesel 3 times live, and Met Him twice, Twice was at His restaurant in Newcastle, Amazing venue and amazing food, His Brother Brian an amazing cook. ;)
Been watching you react to John Farnham all day, everytime he hits big notes the pure joy on your face is amazing. Barnsey and Farnsey are two of the most powerful voices in Australia!
Good day mate I saw John Farnham live in Townsville North Queensland Australia in the 80s at a open air concert from the start to the finish Pissed down with rain John stood on the stage soaking wet and sung his heart out till this day it was the best live Concert I’ve ever been to really enjoy the videos keep up the good work mate
Barnsy is one of my favourite male vocalists of all time. He just has this deep, deep SOUL to his voice. He’s a great rock singer, but I truly adore when he sings the blues. He’s also got a pretty famous scream. It’s pure distortion over a perfectly balanced voice (these days at least, I bellies he used to blow out his voice doing it back in the day). He really melds the best of rock and blues. And Farnsy is also one of Australia’s best male vocalists. So this song was always a massive treat, to listen to two of the best singers Australia has ever had, in the one song. Just awesome. Also, they’re both just really good guys. John is well known to be one of the nicest, most humble people you’ll ever meet. And Jimmy is a fantastic anti-racist campaigner. He’s had some right wing, white nationalists try to use his music at rallies, and he put his foot down hard! All his kids bar one are bi racial. So not only are they extremely talented, they’re also just plain good people. And that’s amazing when that happens.
Holy-snapping-duckspit brillo!! Love Jimmy's Soul albums, adore John Farnham singing anything and the bonus of Diesel on guitar... what more could you want.
I've lost count of the number of times I've seen these three artists live - individually - and as long as they keep performing, I'll keep buying tickets. Their music never grows old, and they never disappoint. Diesel is also a fantastic singer, and an awesome guitarist. He plays about eight different guitars during his show. Love this song!
Hey mate, love watching your reactions. The guy on the guiter name is Mark Lizotte and is Jimmy barnes brother-in law. His a singer in his own right and in the 80's was know as Johnny Diesel, which was later shortened to just "Diesel". Now he sings under is birth name. The three became known as "Farnnsy, Barnnsy & Deisel.
I used to sing back up vocals with John Farnham and other bands and his voice is just as beautiful when he is warming up as it is when he is belting out his amazing tunes. His songs are bangers! He was the reason I got into singing.
Ahh bro that smile that crept over your face when Jimmy started... Hehe you hear it, you feel it! Thanks for sharing our national treasures! Greetings from Oz :)
This is also on my playlist, love the song with 2 powerhouse Aussie singers. Incidentally I saw John Farnham in concert in November and he blew up the stage, he voice is still just as powerful if not better. Great pick👍👍💕
