That boxing yourself tip really is true. Recently I was taken on a trip external from my college (this is in the UK so America’s high school) to visit Oxford University. Once I was there and started speaking to people who were going to apply or who were already students, it made me feel a lot more confident and as though “hey, these people have a lot in common with me, I can probably do that too”. Basically, surround yourself with the type of people you want to become. What you were saying about expanding your box is hilarious cause that’s exactly why I’m watching your videos before I start my first semester this spring.
Man I love your content. You are one of the very few TH-camrs if not the only youtuber that addresses hardcore engineering students when youtube is flooded with software developer videos. Keep these coming!
Well said Tamer. A lot of students also forget about taking advantage of their studying institution to work on personal interests.. Instead they end up working on problems/subjects that are selected randomly and without a good criteria. A good home work when doing student projects is thinking of what could actually be beneficial on a personal level so that on the long run you still enjoy what you do while studying a degree.
With everything online now, it's very rare to just buy textbooks. Often times its a website that you pay to get both your homework assignments and textbook. So you still kinda have to pay unless you want to literally fail your class.

computer engineering grad here. our primary problem was .. we hat 3 semesters which where so packed with stuff to learn .. we where busy 50-60h a week next to all the in place courses/lectures. which resulted in spreading it or sacrificing all free time for about one and a half years .. in other words .. i added a 9th to the 8 seemesters to get the diploma. Great video! I'm currently a second year mechanical engineering student and found this video very helpful. I was wondering what website did you use to upload your portfolio to?
One of the common challenges in engineering is taking those dedicated engineering classes and lacking a few mathematical tools/skills, it's always important to continue learning and practicing math, even if you completed all the math required. Besides, sometimes it's fun to jump into theoretical/pure mathematics, or learn, practice and review applied mathematics.

Hi I’m planning on doing mechanical engineering in college, but I was wondering if you think it’ll be beneficial to do a double degree like engineering and business together? Also can mechanical engineers get jobs in specific fields like aerospace or the environment? Thank you so much for creating this great channel, it’s helped me a lot :)
Hi current mech e major, it would be super helpful, lots of companies would appreciate the business aspect of engineering. Lots of skills like communication, project management and others. You can get specific jobs from that degree as it’s very versatile!
You can do a double degree if that’s something u want, but it can be hectic to handle that course load. I don’t see much of a benefit in it since no job requires both as they only require either an engineering degree or a business degree. So it might be better to pick one and focus on it. In addition, if u pursue engineering, u can pursue an MBA after to have some business background. And yes, mechanical engineers can get jobs in specific fields like aerospace and environmental.
Im currently a sophomore in high school , should I already be learning the skills, and doing projects to build a good resume for university? Or is it too early
Yo nice vid man, I had a question, the first thing you talked about, making projects early on to add to your resume; so like I'm in first year mechanical, so I can literally like make random like things on solidworks and that can be counted as a project on my resume?
Yes, but try to design something that's useful. Also, if you can build it as well at your university's machine shop or 3D print it, then that would be great.
@@TamerShaheen Thanks alot for the reply, really appreciate it. So could you gimme a few examples of things I could design and also build in first year in my free time which would be useful in my resumé?
