Nice video Lea a fine gentleman not getting your hair off about the damage of the car he probably did not know he had done it but got a sale well done by being kind god works in different ways 😊
Years ago had we a customer come into showroom at 1755 for 3 weeks in a row kicking tyres. Salesman on duty got fed up and locked him in and drove away. Had to be let out by petrol pump attendant. Never seen him again. 😀
My opinion on the Asta H would be to get a drink out of it because most folk want a small auto, not one that does mid 20's to the gallon so it coud sit for a long while rather than a few C1's or i10's that turn over quickly using that space.
Did the clock spring on my Rio, then the gear linkage went, whole dash had to come out to fix, hopefully handle and clock spring is all you have to do with that one.. nice vid thanks
Hi really enjoy your weekly updates with your knowledgeable helpful and informative advice for when your looking and buying a car, just to say though I live in the south, Kent coast and equivalent prices here for the cars you sell are easily £2 grand more! if I lived up there I'd buy from you confidence because ofthe way you present your cars, your high standard of prep. higher mileage isn't a problem as you know what to look for when purchasing vehicles and thst reflection you competitively priced cars on you pitch, you take pride in what you do and don't cut corners and you don't bull shit ! Hard work pays off, your honesty is the best policy, well done👍😊
Actually that Astra for a “57” is very clean, so it’s a pity about the etc work. “Man on bike” is like a soap opera 😂. What a nice guy that bought the damaged car is, persistent but nice 😂.
Talking about DOA stuff, I had a call to a solicitor's office on the South Circular, that spread both sides of the junction, where the road goes up to Putney Bridge. The fault was a terrible smell when a Kyocera 3500 was printing. I tested it and couldn't find anything wrong, so I ordered an EHT card whch has a silicon gel covering the components, I thought maybe one of the parts was overheating. I fitted it, still the same I couldn't make it fail. I wasn't the first to see this printer, so support went up there to pick it up and take it to the workshop. Again no smell at all, until they put the other paper. 100gsm Conqueror, that solicitors use for posh purposes. The receptionist went rushing into the loo to vomit. the rear doors and front door were left open for 20 minis with all the staff out in the car park waiting for the smell to disappear. It was RANK ! A phone call with the batch number of the paper was made, and the guy apologised. "Yes, he said, someone was sick in the vat while making that batch !" Lesson learned :)
I used to work for an IT company as a field service engineer. Was called by my MD to attend an priority call by a company who urgently needed their lazer printer issue resolved. As it was quarter end and they needed important docs printed. When i arrived there was one office guy to let me in, he sheepishly showed me to the printer. Within 5mins I could see the problem, an a4 page folded like a fan in the fuser unit. When i unraveled the page, there she was in all her glory, miss June double D with legs akimbo. The guy waited for all the office staff to leave and was printing off some spanky pictures for personal use 😆 That was before smart phones. I would have loved to see his office PC search history
Get the Astra H retailed spend your the time sorting it, the car looked mint particularly the Engine bay, reminded me of my old 58 plate Astra Elite 1.9cdti , which in the 5 years or so was a brilliant car even the same colour only problem I had ever was egr valves , I'm a foundry metrology technician but a dabhand at replacing egr valves. And he pointed at the dashboard inside!...I felt a little bad....Then i thought , I´ll try with my old car keys....fiddled with it for a minute or so..and unlooked it! Seller looked at me a bit funny...But I got me a "new" car!!!
You seem like an honest lad, so, the auto Astra that needs work...get rid of it, because you'll do all that work and it WILL be back to bite you on the arse. Go with your gut instinct and trade it on.👍
cant wait on your new vids mate. i used to turn a shilling back in the 70s with cortinas marinas escorts mk1 tempted to dabble again mate lol maybe to old now lol

I can almost see the title for the next video... 'Spice Man on bike, brings a suitcase full of jelly babies as deposit for a car he crashed his bike into' 😂
Does a lot of prep for cheap cars. Last time I bought a car the ad said fully serviced, but they didn't even change the break fluid and wanted me to pay for the timing belt. What is the death corner? What’s with the metro we can see in the middle of. Do you have a bargain basement or cars that you don’t want to retail and what do you normally do with
Notice the c max is still hanging about Lee , take it your are waiting on the clutch? I keep expecting you to trade it on . Do you think it's worth retailing? Great video as usual that Kia with the door lock problem sounds like a right pain in the ar*e lol .

Hi Lee. Loving your TH-cam vids. I much prefer real down to earth real life TH-cam channels. Superb. I had no hesitation in subscribing pretty much after I saw your first vid. I am particularly interested in your new series of looking at specific cars as of you first one the Aygo. I have a couple of questions that I'd welcome advice on. We have two cars and the one I am referring to is our 2012 Ford Fiesta Edge 1.4. i noted the coolant bottles liquid was a bit below minimum and so decided to top it up. When I unscrewed the cap the middle part separated and remained in the bottle. I have looked online and it appears this is not uncommon with Fords. There is a lot of vids online but I'd welcome your thoughts and advice. Would it be safe to use WD40 to spray around the stuck piece and then try and remove it with a couple of screwdrivers? By the way I am not touching it until I've bought a new cap. Also, should I top it up to the MIN or MAX marker? Thank you in anticipation of your reply, Paul.
Personally I would replace the coolant bottle and cap, if your able to get the cap out then great but they do have a habit of cracking the bottles on fords in general so I would always recommend replacement. You can pick them up new on ebay for very little money with a new cap included. when fitting a new bottle you will loose some water naturally, top up with fresh coolant between min and max. start the car with the cap off and allow it to run up to temp and the heaters blowing warm. Once this has been achieved turn the engine off leave for 5 mins with the cap still off, this allows any air to escape and water will also drop slightly. Then top up to just below max and replace the coolant lid.
@@carukchannel Hi Lee, thank you for such a swift reply. I'll keep a copy of your reply. I did see how the cap and bottle/cap were quite plentiful on eBay. Fortunately we are not totally dependent on the Fiesta in that we also have a 2015 Seat Leon. However, when one of the cars has an issue then I always get it sorted swiftly. I have to say my car knowledge and confidence is quite basic in that I can check and top up the engine oil, and the water bottle. In general would you ay that changing the coolant bottle would be something a non-mechanic could do and without specialist knowledge or tools?

Woman with suitcase, man on bike and now man buys car he damaged! Seriously, it sounds like a Billy Conolly routine. Highly entertaining!
No need to be a James hunt mucker
So funny you've had the best three people you could get. 😂😂😂

That was a classic Lee... comedy gold👍
You should be on the stage with all the funny happenings gos I am sat here laughing.

To be honest Lee you do have some strange events going on at your car pitch.
I've got a question, how would you deal with a retail car where the headlight unit had very heavy condensation inside it??
most of the time you end up replacing lights with condensation in, although sometimes you get lucky and some silly sod has not put the bulb cover back in 🤣
I wouldn’t touch the Vauxhall as a retail sale. They’re just not reliable, guaranteed to have the customer back in a few months.
Had an older Meriva, worst car I’ve ever had and I had a Marina..
