Thanks for sharing Aliff. Its a nice and quiet part of Singapore. =) It will likely change quite a bit once the remaining HDBs are knocked down to make way for more condominiums
I migrated from Singapore 10 years back and I used to live in West Coast St.1. What a lovely surprise to see this video today. Thank you for your effort to walk patiently and bringing us fond memories thru these videos.
Happy to hear from you Gomz 😊 glad to hear it brought back memories for you. I used to study at Tanglin secondary more than 20 years ago and other than the newly built condominiums in the area I feel time has stood still in this area. Much of the HDB blocks I walked through are scheduled to be demolished so lots of changes will happen in the area.
I used to live very close to Ayer Rajah market and hawker center and it feels so good to watch this video and remember the years that I lived in Singapore! I've walked through these streets and it feels nostalgic! Thank you so much for making this video!!
Glad to have brought back memories for you 😊 West Coast I currently going through a big transition. Over the last couple of years, lots of condominiums have been built and the government has enbloc a large segment of the HDBs. I think it's largely going to be a privatised residential property area in time to come
We lived in Kent Vale and shopped at West Coast Plaza for 15 years. Looks pretty much the same. HDB blocks everywhere and so are privision shops. This part doesn't look any different from any other part of Singapore.
Glad to hear from you Michael 😊 I remembered a time when West Coast Plaza was called Ginza Plaza 😅 I used to study at Tanglin Secondary School and (to me) some parts have remained the same (but not for longer with all the enblocked HDBs) 😊 where do you currently live at?
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Oh, we left Singapore and returned to Canada in 2013. I used to be a professor at NUS. Your video brought back a lot of memories. Yes, West Coast Plaza used to be Ginza Plaza. It was so named because of the large Japanese community in the a rea. There used to be a Prime supermarket, which was later replaced by Gold Storage. There is a wet market across the road from West Coast Plaza, and a Sheng Siong.
@@michaelshih8163 nice 😊 hope you had a great working experience in Singapore. Lots of renovations and new buildings are currently bring erected at NUS. Which faculty did you use to teach at?
😁 Yeah this place brought back memories for me. I used to study at nearby Tanglin Secondary School and would go to Ginza Plaza to hang out at the arcade. Memorable times 😊
It will be a bit challenging. Not much time to film as much this year so have to be selective. I did a night vidoe at Yuhua which is nearby and cycled to Taman Jurong. Hope this will be of interest: th-cam.com/video/p21yqet5T38/w-d-xo.html
Very nice as always. It's good to see new Singapore scenes. Thanks DWT!
Another great video of Singapore. And a little thunder at the end. Just love the thunderstorms in Singapore.
The thunderstorm caught me by surprise ⛈️😅 was hoping to end it at West Coast Park
thanks, used to live @ blk 512 in 2008, brought back good memories
amazing content as always!
So this is what the West Coast looks like!I've never gone there in all my annual visits to Singapore for more than 10 years.TQ for the video
Great work man.
This is beautiful! What a great video.
Good to see Singapore set an example for cleanliness at a time like this. Thanks for sharing! :)
Yeah. I'm blessed to be living in such a clean country 🙏😊
If you have maids, of course your house will be cleaner.
Watching this video bring me back too many sweet memories staying in that area

I've never been to Singapore's west coast! Thanks to your video, I feel like walking there too!😊👍
Haha. It would be rare for a visitor to come to these parts. I used to study at a nearby school so it was my first time back here after 20 over years
A really nice and relaxing walk. I look forward to other walks on the West Coast Park and Haw Par Villa there.
I used to live in this area, thanks for your video bring back some memories

You are doing a great job!...keep updating with new places!!!
Thanks Kunal. Haha. Singapore is a "big" place with many neighbours. I hope I will be able to record most of it in time to come
Haven't watch your walking video for a while. Glad to see you again.
Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Simon =) Yeah decided to slow down a bit due to the virus (plus I was in the midst of moving)
Hopefully things will get better in the long run
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV yeah.... Chill out. And take it easy. All the best.
Alan! How are you? Thanks again for another wonderful video. It's always so nice to spend time watching the world go by. : )
Had a good 4 years studying in this area. Walking here brought back memories 😊
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV I bet. Walking around Bedok Reservoir area brings back the same kinds of memories.
Awesome! Nice video! Thanks!
Great upload! Haven't done a walk in a while
Same. With all this covid 19 going on, the enthusiasm for walking in public spaces is a bit dimished 🚶😅

Wow, great, what camera are you using now? Go Pro?
Still using the Osmo Pocket. Made a silly mistake of not attaching my wide angle lens for this walk 😅 so there is a difference in viewing angle
