I lived in a small community where not only are you going to see your ex everyday
They will be with your best friend and you suck on it because this is a small community and it is not easy to find someone.
If you ever loved your ex and your best friend you will wish them all the best they can still be your friends if you can let your ego not screw that up
It hurts when you lose the one who knows you better than anyone else
If you are not hurting then you lost nothing
What is pain today will be a warm smile tomorrow

I can't listen to Jim Croce without tearing up. I was born in 1971, my brother was class of 77. I remember sitting on my brothers old yellow Pontiac Grand Prix tank. He had wires running everywhere to speakers from his 8 track. Stacks of 8 tracks everywhere but he always had Jim playing. My brother passed away in 2003 and one of my favorite memories is of my brother and Jim. I play this song and shut my eyes and I am in that seat again next to him.

When Jim found out his wife was expecting, he literally sat down at their kitchen table and wrote over half of his #1 hit songs in a single week. He never lived to see his star rise completely, and sadly after his death, the record companies screwed his widow out of the royalty's she had coming.

Jim was my hero when I was 9 years old. I LOVED his story-telling style. He was also my first experience with death. His passing effed me up for quite a while. Just hearing his voice takes me back to that time: living off-base in Leonburg, Germany, where I couldn't really speak the language yet, but I DID speak the language of Croce. My neighbor friend Barenhart mourned Jim's death, even though he had to interpret MY sorrow to do so. I still miss that man's soothing voice.

Try Time In A Bottle. One of the most beautiful love songs you'll ever hear. Since you actually listen to lyrics, you'll enjoy it. It's his signature song. Hopefully, the audio quality will be better than this song.
For funny songs, Roller Derby Queen and You Don't Mess Around With Jim.

Hey, India. Shout out from Fairbanks, Alaska. One of the most isolated [laces on the country.I just love your channel and this morning you brought tears to my eyes. I fell in love with Jim Croce when I was young in the 70's and like many young girls, I just knew I would marry him someday. Then something went terribly wrong and he was killed. I guess he was my first heartbreak...I miss him so much and will always wonder what he would have sung to me all of these lost years. RIP, baby I miss you so.

Jim was also a song writer and told a song with ever word. His life was cut short when he died in a plane crash. I can't tell you how many times I have replaced his music due to changing formats. My music collection will always have all of his music included. There was so much great music in the 70s. I am 66 years old and have lived fro Bill Hailey and the Comets rock around the clock to the music of today. Much will be here for a minute and then forgotten. Jim's thanks to those who fell in love with his music then and thankfully those that have never heard of him before now hearing him on your show will have the chance to love it as well. Listen and react to all of his music you won't be sorry. Others , Carol King, James Taylor and Nei Diamond just to name a few would also be worth your time. Thank you for helping the music to live on.
