Happy new year gentlemen! That our senses may be dominated yet again in 2024 so that we may have many moments of friendship, camaraderie, meeting new people and above all appreciate what being alive is all about, even the little things in life.
One from your man at Masters of Malt. Had a Whisky Me pouch of their Speyside 12yo. Under 50 notes a bottle. Total banger. More expensive. Glentauchers from North Star. Huge sherried whisky. Excellent stuff. Can't believe that Toyota haven't said a word about those bottles and not even a bottle of North Star from you guys.
Love finding great whisky under £50 - such win. Didn’t drink much North Star at all last year - any expressions particularly stand out other than the Glentauchers?
@@TheWhiskyBaron Past 12 months had these from North Star. Ardenmurchan, Highland 11yo, 15yo Longmore, 11yo Linkwood, 49yo blend, Tarot The Fool and 10yo Blend. Last two are both under £35. Think I've gone through 30+ different varieties of North Star by now. Not had a dud yet.
@@jamesangus7253fair play - that’s quite the lineup. It’s a great brand and definitely one we watch, just didn’t quite make the cut for our 2023 list. I’ll be sure to indulge more this year though so as they have a fair shot for our 2024 list. Thanks for the recommendations James 🥃🥃 sláinte
Happy New Year Euan! Always a pleasure to have you join us sir, very much looking forward to meeting you one day soon. All the best for the year ahead 🥃
Re Campbeltown Loch. Glen Scotia hasn't sold casks to Springbank for years, so as alluded to by Tintin, there may well be no more GS in this blend. Furthermore, as far more Springbank is produced than the other three malts, logic would suggest this is the largest component.
It would be great if we could get a bit of a recipe breakdown - I’d also love to know what cask types are used and how much variation there is in batches. Sláinte David, Happy New Year!

Great episode again. Keep on the good work. My favorite whisky of the year is Indri Trini.
Haven’t tried that yet Tom - maybe one for our best whiskies of 2024 video!
