I think the writers of Prisoner wanted Sandy back at a later date so she wasn’t killed off. It will always remain a mystery what happened to her. We never actually seen what happened so we can’t say that was murdered. How did Kate manage to put Sandys body in the garbage truck on her own in a short space of time and not be seen. I read somewhere that the actor who played Sandy was pregnant in real life so was written out. The mystery of her disappearance provides the opportunity for her to comeback but this never happened. The future episode of Kate going insane may pinpoint to Sandy’s murder.
I think Kate Peterson killed Sandy in an episode the women were on their rec peroid outside, kate and Sandy were emptying two garbage bins into the big garbage bin outside, Sandy says to kate are you ready to have this chat, garbage truck arrives, it leaves as the women are comming inside, the truck is checked by the gate guard before it leaves, kate retuns with the other women and asked by an officer where is Edwards to which kate replies she was right behind me.a few episodes Marie Winter confronts kate she is very suspicious about Sandy's disappearance, Kate pulls a knife on Marie. Marie said Edwards got the knife off her. I think kate killed Sandy and put her in the big garbage bin.
