I never thought of Adam & Eve in that way. It was more than an act of disobedience but choosing something temporal over eternal, this world instead of the world to come, instead of God. Thank you so much for that insight, it really helped my understanding of the “fall” of man connecting to how I fall everyday when I make those same choices. Thank God for baptism and YES, Reconciliation!

For we look not to things that seen, but to the things that are unseen, for what is seen is temporal but what is unseen is eternal.
Seen is worldly and evil but unseen is God himself 🙌

Another video with music in the background. I don't understand why they want to make it so difficult to listen to the reflection.

Excellent. May I make a recommendation? Even before but with what decades of much complacency by many in Ireland helped bring about and with consideration to the real human dynamics & concerns that contributed to it; don't we need more focus on what recent prophets, inspired by the Holy Spirit conveyed to us to form a direction to The Church? For example, John Paul ii's Address on the 5th anniversary of Evangelium Vitae calling for a vast sign in the New Evangelization, as an integral part of every pastoral & work of The Church in a concerted effort for the Gospel of Life. The Sacredness of Life is like Love, a Covenant relationship with God, and with great reverence and witness to this Love of God, compassionately love our neighbor, invisible, but living it shows fruit. There has been much railing at the darkness. But, John Paul ii, while commending people for their efforts in 2000; said this effort remains fragmented. Now, not only does it remain fragmented, there is much reticence at every level of stewardship. This call by the Holy Spirit becomes more and more daunting, with fewer and fewer being even available to take up the call. The parents who need an informed conscience and the children are our neighbors. Don't we need to zealously with sustained often exhortation, call for more examples like Good Counsel Homes, Sisters of Life, and Coworkers for life? Don't we need more of the same with things like 40 Days For Life? And promoting the concept that these children truly have the same God given dignity and value as each one of us? And with that promote with tremendous prudence and compassion the immense need to end the grave moral evil of deliberately killing helpless children? Their need for a voice reaches to the high Heavens. Today on Thursday, Jun 7; the Gospel was the greatest Commandment in the Gospel according to Mark. But someone asked Christ Jesus in another Gospel, who is your neighbor? Couldn't a parable come to mind regarding these things? I don't want to relate something against Paul the Apostle's words today and avoid offending someone who may read this, hmmm. Three believers were asked to help witness The Gospel of Life. The first two said, well I'm too busy and this work that shows love of neighbor is more important. For the sake of discussion, it turns out that in reality they didn't want to sacrifice available time in this great need because of how it may look to others. And because this was habitual, learned behavior, they truly thought other concerns prevented them, with maybe a wisp in the recesses of their minds of not wanting to face discouragement of others or being frowned upon. Or they developed some kind of theological understanding contrary to the need to emphasize this with great compassionate vast exhortation, not cognizant of the anthropomorphic realities of why they wouldn't. However, in a real parable, a chain of persons would have reached someone the parents trusted, to maybe say 'your baby has fingernails just like you,' ref. Juno. But the third believer said, yes. But his witness was holding a sign with a picture of a baby while praying in front of an abortion facility. The parents saw the sign, and had a private earnest discussion and noticed someone else holding a sign with 1-800-712-HELP written on it. They spared the life of their child. Which of these was a neighbor to the parents & child? Obviously the last.
Like you related, we are all caught up too much on transient things, and isn't there a great sin of omission by not listening to the Holy Spirit's guidance of The Church by recent relevant prophets like John Paul ii, Mother Teresa, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen and John Cardinal O'Connor? Do we honestly think that there will be much peace growing in hearts, to help consciences be informed, or at least seeds be planted to run to the Mercy of Jesus Christ without using much more proactive, rather than reactive soul force with an urgency of now? Gradualism is more often then not justified by offering reasons why we can't do this. The voiceless & helpless need a voice. And in much the same way that Fr. Richard Ho Lung & Missionaries of The Poor; and Mother Teresa and Missionaries of Charity lead people to Christ by example of setting our sights on Heavenly things; so will others be led by realizing the 'soul force,' example gives witness to the God Given Dignity and Value of every human life. John Cardinal O'Connor said that if he lived a week longer or twenty years longer, may his last breath be in defense of every human life. Mother Teresa said abortion is the greatest in diminishing peace in the world. Those who convey these things are not 'obsessed' with abortion as one famous Learned popular Catholic evangilist once indicated. They are compassionately healthily zealous for the New Evangilization, with The Gospel of Life. They show tremendous devoutness, labor for The Gospel, and fruits of setting their hearts and minds on things above. Peace and heartfelt warm regards.

Is Adam & Eve a story, or were they historical figures, Jeff? Is what you are saying truly reflecting what updated Catholic scholarship reveals about this part of Genesis? Thanks.

Two things -- God threatened Adam & Eve to not eat of the fruit (two times in Genesis) else they would die. Adam & Eve did eat. They didn't die.
    God lied.
Plus - The definition of Eternity is that without beginning and without end. So actually, we already have eternal life and have always had it.
