Thank goodness that this was not a video about the Generator 120 10th Anniversary edition. There is no way we could sit through more of those killer tones, and amazing features you described ;). Others here have already said it, but you should put out an album with your tracks, that intro F$*king ripped. Thanks Bahd!
Thanks SO much for being a good sport about the title! The video is about riding the inspiration that a great piece of gear can provide. The video was originally going to be 30 seconds of a tune, then I kept finding new tones that inspired new parts, and kept adding on, then ended up with a 3min tune, and was like, "Well, I guess a video IS happening!"
I know this is mostly a tone chasing channel and I love that, but Michael needs more props for his actual playing. Chops and versatility, in both rhythm and lead playing, are outstanding. He's a super player on it's own.
Unfortunately, now, in 00's guitar-based music is not so popular, so it's wery hard to became famous just using talents. To became famous guitarist you also need very powerfull advertising... It's so sad... @@SolarWarden88
2:47 I had another tab open, applying for jobs and eating breakfast while I listened. But then this part happened, and it completely stole my attention mid-application. Damn Michael, you cooked with this one!
It’s so nice to see a person who plays perfectly and also knows how to use equipment, it’s something like a utopia... It saddens me to think that few people know about you, and those who know you are mostly avid guitarists. However, this is not so bad, because if you were famous, you would not have time to create such good videos, I think. You know all this stuff: national tours, interviews and stuff like that. In any case, thank you for the wonderful material, glad to see you in good health!
Michael is better known than you think. Together with his musical partner, they do a lot of soundtracks for games, film etc. but yes, he truly is a great guitarist and very inspirational.
That intro blew my hair off! Fortunately, I keep my feathers numbered for just such an occasion............................ Great vid! love Revv's stuff
Mr. Nielsen this song is a Masterclass in every aspect of all the processes!! From composition to mastering. And playing is top notch too! Congratulations!
That intro brother is like a beautiful marriage between your own style and A Perfect Circle. Billy Howerdel and the Mer De Noms record are HUGE influences on me and made me practice that much harder as youngster. You RIP michael and as everyone already said I'd buy your album in a second dude.
Thanks for making this kind of video. It’s more than a simple playthrough, and better than a “inside the mix” demo. I agree about the sound of the amp, and the modes. Fun!
You’re the reason I have my Runt 50 & Friedman 4x12. Love your demos, best of the best. Your compositions are unbelievable. I already have the Generator 120-3a & Revv 4x12, coincidentally, in Bronco Black🤘bad enough wanting everything you review 😂 Would love a 10th Anniversary🙏 REVVRULES🤘🤘🤘
YO! I had just recorded something like five 100w amp demos in a row, and thought, I can't do another one. So I was trying to make this a not amp video, which I failed miserably, and ended up just making an amp video that is weird. Revv Generator 120 MKIII - 10th-anniversary Edition was everything in the video. it's pretty dope. Have you tried that one? It's my first time trying REVV stuff. I know I've seen them on your channel and Robert Baker's and they've always sounded cool. They have a distinct personality to my ear. Pretttttty. pretttaaaaay good.
Damn Michael, your playing is amazing. Taste, tone, chops, and making everything fit flawlessly to serve the song. You are truly an outstanding musician, I'm always impressed by the songs you craft for your demo videos.
that intro was a technique lesson. your composition has nice contrast and surprise...y'know like music is supposed to be, not just technique. im def stealing/picking up some of those transitions though. it's time to make an album if you haven't already started.
You reveal some major compositional brilliance in everything you play. Not just on occasion, I hear the roots of songwriting everywhere in your playing. Have you ever been interested in working with a singer? Your ideas are very lyrical and if you found someone who hears your muse, it can mean relating to a lot much wider audience.
Killer man and like i said in buddys comment i find your tone trustworthy 😂😂🤘so thanks. I wanna send u an old amp i customized some day. For the honesty
Michael Nielsen with Puerto Rican heritage. that's awesome! Please do a Spanish language video y a Comer chicharrones todo El Mundo con LA Abuela! saludos desde PR
Great song! You should make a tutorial vídeo while you record and mix. Keep rockin'. Also... the amp sounds wonderfull but that bass tone is just superb and gives a weight to the song that is just fantastic.
FUCKIN YIPES! Holy Jeeziss on a Big Wheel that was huge. Not only is the tone[s] insane, bro your playing and composition... just frikkin beyondo stellar. Thank you for what you do for our ears and brains. Well aside from you bringing us the Samsquantch huevos and Chicharrones, it's REVV that gets the award here. Now I have to sell 20 amps ffs dangit. Thank you Sir.
Awesome music intro! F***ing drums sound monstrous and huge! Where did you get the drum tracks from? I just put together a DAW system and looking for heavy drums. Love the guitar playing! That Shabat is awesome, I'm jealous.
I have a Dingwall NG5 string that I used for this. I also have a nice Fender P Bass I use some days. But the Dingwall is phenomenal. I ran direct. For the cleaner bass sounds in the first 1/3 of the tune I used ToneX Ampeg SVT sound. Once the bass gets a bit driven, it's Neural Parallax plugin. I always just tweak the default patch.
Dude- Awesome video, Michael! Epic intro song reminded of Alter Bridge, which always a good thing. The “gate business” is always a good investment, IMO. Halo rules, is it in the effects loop? Or, after the speaker 🔈?? I’ve been experimenting with doing that lately to get a “stereo out” into my interface. Cheers!
It was in front. All of the FX were in line going into the input of the amp. It's just how my pedalboard was set up at the moment. The more stereo FX were added in the DAW when mixing.
Thank goodness that this was not a video about the Generator 120 10th Anniversary edition. There is no way we could sit through more of those killer tones, and amazing features you described ;). 💯 I was just gonna post, like damn bro, your playing is so underrated lol
Dude has gear and knows how to use it! His playing is really good..

"Alexa, shuffle songs by Michael Nielsen" and then get ready to have your ears melt...
Damn man, that opening song is freaking killer! Please drop an album already 🤟
Yeah... he should write instrumental music for living... oh wait... 🙃
But I agree... a CD release of some of these songs would be awesome.
TH-cam is too small for Michael Nielsen !!!
The opening track is pure perfection: the perfect balance between a perfect circle and alter bridge❤
Killer playing and writing Michael!
2:47 I had another tab open, applying for jobs and eating breakfast while I listened. But then this part happened, and it completely stole my attention mid-application. Damn Michael, you cooked with this one!
Absolutely killer intro. Playing, composition, tones, mixing, it's all there!
Holy crap what a composition that was!! Everything including the guitar, bass, drums, and the dynamics in that tune. Really impressive.
Well, as long as you’re not making this video about the Revv Generator 120 MkIII 10th Anniversary Edition, I am definitely gonna watch!
That intro tune gave me goosebumps. Congrats, Michael......that rarely happens to me with most modern music.......seriously cool! 🤘🤘
New Order vibes out the gate...then went metal. Someone needs a full album. I'd listen to this all day.

Honestly one of my favorite musicians on TH-cam. Thank you Michael. I’m one happy Canadian. I also love my REVV gear.
Great tones and playing. I’m a diehard Orioles fan. Cya in the World Series Boi!!!!!
Your compositions and playing are to the roof Michael. Seriously brother you should release an album with all these Reviews playing videos.
That was absolutely, by far, incredible. I fell into a dream and saw inspiration.
That intro blew my hair off! Fortunately, I keep my feathers numbered for just such an occasion............................
Great vid! love Revv's stuff
Who gives a shit about the rest of the info on the amp, put the first 5 min on repeat.....let's go.
Never was about the amp. How can it be after that FANFOOKINGTASTIC intro. Seriously. That was next level.
Killer tune & tones!! Audience wants a Michael Nielsen solo album and live gigs!! 🤟
The song was incredible it’s the best instrumental song of the year and next year also 🤟🏻💰
Mr. Nielsen this song is a Masterclass in every aspect of all the processes!! From composition to mastering. And playing is top notch too! Congratulations!

Huge tone, absolutely ripping 🔥
If you released an album's worth of tunes, I'm sure it would sell.......the intro songs are AWESOME.

Sounds truly Killer .....love that zuta phaser too.

Fkn 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great into. I could put that on replay for hours.
Best long cold open ever!
What amp did you use? Was it the one behind you? What is it?
YO! I had just recorded something like five 100w amp demos in a row, and thought, I can't do another one. Cinematic as fuck. When are you going to do a major motion picture soundtrack? I feel like you should work with Hans on Dune 3

Thanks for coming!
