I love your hands. You're a man that works very hard. I'm considering doing the same thing. With my old clock. I'd like to put a new spring in it. Thanks for the video.
I recently disassembled (though not yet cleaned and re-assembled) an "Advance" brand clock made in 2013. All the gears are plastic, but otherwise the movement looks almost exactly like this one. Your video helped me gain the confidence required to repair this clock - thanks!
Thank you very much for your video! This video is really helpful! This video gives awareness that old dead clocks can be repaired and restored to function properly. So that throwing old dead clocks into garbage or side of road or street can be avoided and soil pollution can also be avoided. Nothing is waste in the world. This video guides how to do anything in creative manner and how to avoid destroying.
You're a crazy man taking that clock completely apart. Do you always know what to do to put things back together? Are there times when you run into problems you can't solve? Do you ever take apart something and then get so overwhelmed with the idea of putting it back together that you just give up? I would and have.
Things were built so much better back in the day. That alarm clock will probably last another 70 yrs. great job I enjoyed watching you bring it back to life.
Ady Simm Yes it always was they use the cheapest material they can find to duplicate our products. I have my Fathers wind up alarm clock at home that he used throughout his working life time. It is a Wesclock and it still winds up and runs. I believe he bought that clock in 1939 when he married my Mother.
I have one of these I would like to save but the two winders on the back turn in both directions with minimal resistance, so they don't stop so I can unscrew them to get the back off. Any suggestions?
Fantastic indeed. How can you possibly remember where all those parts go upon reassemble, and no parts left over. I have a hard time remembering where my house keys are. Even my wife commented about the rooster. Happy to hear the rooster has returned. Great job Mr. Electricity , thanks for sharing with us, you do great work, and take care of Mr. Rooster, he has become part of your show......Take care, Ken from California USA.

OMG... You do clockworks too?!!? You are one incredibly well-educated hand-worker; your skills remind me of my father's! And to think so many people nowadays don't even know how to change a light bulb... *shakes head sadly*
I probably should have said, this is an old plastic Equity clock. I agree it's not worth it but this one belonged to actor John Wayne and I would just like to save it for personal reasons.
@@cheungpakchuen4378 I do appreciate your answer! I'll give it a try with either one, to see if it works as well as it does in the video. Thanks a lot Cheung!
Doesn't that rooster EVER shut up. I grew up on a farm with chickens and other livestock and I don't remember one endlessly yammering on like that one. Very nice work on the clock.
fantastic jobi bet it will work for years more, unfortunately the ware cannot be taken out of the shafts and bearing surfaces 😞 but i will stick to my electronic repairs 😉
@@shrutibajaj5298 Bummer! The best way to do things is to take a video of the disassembly. It helps. Although sometimes there are parts like with springs that jump from their place and have no odea how to put them back. This is why some repairs I leave to the professionals. And also sometimes you need specialized tools Some others I can attempt myseld. And preferably to succeed as well :)
Great job! Like others are saying, you are a brave man to take a clock apart, and have it work after you've put it back together.
very difficult restoration requires hands of a surgeon very steady and patient
Another rooster approved restoration! Great work on getting it reassembled!
Nice 1950's alarm clock colored in green. Good job done!👍

Great job restoring the wind-up clock. You cleaned it up well and got it ticking. Well done.

Love those precision tools. Especially the huge pliers!
How big patience. Congratulations from the Canary islands _Spain
Very nice. I like to see things working again. I restored a lot of clocks myself too
Love the background sounds . At a rough guess i would say you live on a farm ...Elementary , my dear Watson.
Nice job on the old alarm clock. I love the ticking sound they make.
..i sleep well with three of them ticking away. I think it's a comforting sound from childhood or something!

You have a rooster why do you need a alarm clock ;)

Awesome job!
I can’t believe you took all those gears off! Also, with your rooster maybe you don’t need the alarm!!
You have a clock that sounds like a rooster! How clever!
Very well!
Great job good outcome...
From the roosters perspective, this alarm clock is literally "The Robot Uprising".
Nice old clock, man. Wow, that rooster crowing outside. That was interesting. 🐓
You ought to take on restoring an old Black Forest cuckoo clock someday, that would make a interesting video!
@Joseph-Denis Noël I've worked on one before and it wasn't bad, it didn't seem any more complicated than what you tackles with this clock.
Excellent restoration...well done!

Apparently, he crows off -Greenwich time! :)

BAH. You don't need overpriced special tools to fix small clocks. Even worn pivot holes are easy to deal with Nice work.

"Here they come to snuff the Rooster......" Great restoration by the way. 😎 one more sub!
Excellent job! What did you use to clean it? I'm presently learning and would like to be able to do such a great job with common tools.
What liquid did you use to clean the mechanism?
