As a wreath maker, I definitely suggest using a rotary cutter for the mesh. It cuts through the mesh really well and usually limits the amount of fraying that the mesh does. Also, another way to dress this angel up would be to use a different color mesh on one of the layers of the dress. And another way to attach the mesh would be using chanel stems (pipe cleaners) pushed through the holes at the top of the dress.

Hi Elaine, the angel is just so beautiful. It was a fantastic tutorial, if you ever make this angel again, you could wrap a thick elastic band around the neck, then you just tuck the netting under the band then it will stay in place while the glue at the top sets. At the end when all the layers are set you can just cut the band off. Also I noticed you put the mesh on with the curl facing away from the metal, if you placed it the other way round the mess would have hugged under the bottom of the wire, giving you a lot more control. At the end simply lift the curl up to the front of the wire and the dress will naturally balloon outward. Hope you don’t mind me trying to make your job a little easier. You can just ignore what I say, I honestly don’t mind. Xxxx

You could probably use some white tulle to cover the trash can instead of the mesh...might be easier to handle and then use the mesh ribbon to decorate it. Your angel is beautiful 😍
I actually bought tulle to do that and ended really liking the way the mesh curled up. I also wanted to try and keep it Dollar Tree as much as possible. Who knows, I might make another one for myself with the tulle!!

Thank you for the beautiful angel tutorial. This will be my tree topper this year. I am going to use the dove wings but glue some white feathers on them. I have seen the feathers at craft stores. I think I may use gold accessories to add a little color. Love your angel. ❤️
