My dream ukulele for years was a flea ukulele. When I first started it was out of my price range and now that I could probably afford it, I’m on the wrong continent. That is one of the reasons I jumped on getting a flight travel. I had my soprano for 2 days before I also ordered the concert. I love both and play them way more than my more expensive ukuleles probably because I can just leave them sitting around. It’s very good to see that at least in sound, I’m not missing out. I would still love a flea someday but for now I’m thrilled with my flights :)
I’m a massive supporter of fluorocarbon strings; they do help the Flight travel models, in my opinion. But the Flea is still the better instrument, and better be for a $200 (or more) additional price tag. I’m fortunate to own both models. I have a TUSL and TUC here at home these days and no longer have a TUS; I just didn’t need it.
My first uke I bought was a Flea and I love and still play it every day. I buy a Flight TUS35 for my grandkids when they turn 3. I love them both. I only paid $130 for the Flea.
That was VERY helpful! TY for doing this!
You are so welcome!
They both seem like viable and compelling options. I enjoyed watching. 😊
Thanks!
Wow. I barely hear a difference. Thanks for the comparison. I'd love to hear the same comparison with same strings. :)
Someday! I've just been so busy that I haven't had a chance to edit or publish videos I recorded some time ago!

I’m also curious how you will feel with different strings. My flights have worth clears and they massively improved the sound on both sizes.

$130 for the Flea is a great price!
the fluke is more mellow than the flea. that would be a better comparison, flight vs flea.
I don’t have a flea available to compare…if you have one and want to send it to me for a while…let me know.
