As promised, I share my home's Fall Decor with you in today's video. I decorate with an English Country/New England decor aesthetic with a little bit of whimsy here and there.
Carla, you have such a beautiful home but I especially enjoy the way it looks at night …it is so very warm and cozy. You did a great job and I love that that you use a lot of pre-loved items. I am always looking around for a new shop to go to so that I may also purchase these beautiful items that have been pre- loved…. I agree… it does make for an interesting home ….not just the cookie cutter decor like you see in so many magazines. I stopped Halloween decor when I listened to a former Satanist say they would laugh and say “The Christians are celebrating our holiday”. Now I focus on Fall and Thanksgiving.
I just watched your Fall tour and really enjoyed it. I too decorate for Fall starting in September, then transition to Halloween in October and then Thanksgiving the beginning of November. Love putting out my pilgrims and turkeys. My one aunt came from Poland to Connecticut in the early 1900’s then settled in Illinois. I had an uncle who was born in England and still has family living there. Love your channel.
Hi Carla - love the video. Really like your choice of paint colors in dining room. And your rustic, low key natural decoraring style--very "New England." One thought-- could you do a full room shot before and after of each room before you zoom into decorations--so we can see the full effect. Great job on your home and enjoy the travel vids as well. I just joined you on the last video. I love my Massachusetts home and I love New England wouldn’t want to live any place else.🧡🤎 fall is my favorite season. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. I also like the dried flowers. I always picked a little teeny white daisies that grow up abundantly on the rock border behind my home in the fall. I’m always grabbing some when I’m on a walk with my dog Otis 🐶and I just stick them in a vase when I come in.
Absolutely love your home! I am originally from New York and I miss fall in the northeast. It is just not the same here in Kentucky. Even tho I do not live in an older home, ours was built in 1999, I decorate Early American (for the most part) Colonial because that is what I am used and that is how my house was growing up.

The dining room arrangement in the weather terracotta pot is gorgeous! Where in the world did you get the amazing, unique pumpkins flanking it ? They are so muted and look marbled. Beautiful. The evening shadows shot with the sun streaming in was priceless! The three little pumpkins over the door are quintessential New England. Thanks so much for sharing a simpler, cozier way of decorating for fall. Loved it!

Carla, you have done your historic home with such honor. Beautifully autumnal decor, yet not overdone. Did you place your dried hydrangea and others plants in floral foam blocks or are they just placed as is into the container? Very nicely arranged.
Lovely 🍂🍁🌻 I don't get the popularity of Halloween, I much prefer the Thanksgiving season. My husband is from Germany and I'm from the UK, we just shakes our heads, why do people want to celebrate death and gore when there's already so much in our world? Anyting we have been invited to for Halloween as adults have been a just an excuse to drink. Of course we participated in Halloween, handing out treats and goodies to the children and decorating with cute fun things, nothing to scare the kid's. This overboard of ghoulish decor seems to becoming less popular with the home's in are area and more about pumpkins and mums.
We've been here for 4 1/2 yrs now. My style has changed a LITTLE, because I also decorate to the house. In MI we lived in a Farmhouse but people told me my house looked like it belonged in New England, so I guess I've always been attracted to that style somewhat. I've gone from a Farmhouse flare to an English Country/Colonial style if that makes sense. Also, I've found different antiques out here than what was available to me in MI.
‘I love that quiet time before Christmas begins”, I feel the same way, it gives me such a peaceful feeling.
Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday. Fall is my season!

Yes, the candles are pure beeswax. I did not make the wreath, I purchased that two years ago.
