- It seems that everyone out travelling around Australia is making a youtube channel at the moment, is it to late for you to start yours, are people making their blockbuster film at the expense of fellow travellers, and is it just a waste of time. These are all things to consider when you decide whether this is for you. Lets Talk.
We love your video’s and many other also. There are also many after awhile lose what their channel originally was, and basically become boring. Love your honesty, keep up the great work, because for me, watching videos like your own, is so relaxing to watch after a days work. Thank you 👍👍

Do you know what I get most out of the youtube videos I make of our holidays? Seeing my young kids watch them again and again talking about where we just went. I think my most watched is like 200 views or something and Im sure half that or more if from my kids, but they love watching them back and that is good enough for me.

Agreed! It's a watchers market, I've tried heaps of different channels and there's only a few I like. Have to agree with some other comments, the minute someone's channel becomes non stop ads I tune out - a 5 second shot of a nice beach followed by a 7 minute explanation about tyre deflators or some crap, yaaaawn ha ha...

well said and well done mate ,the proof is in the pudding if you have alot of followers then your clearly doing something right if you dont have many following you and have been doing it for some time then you should maybe have a rethink of your content you can never have enough of a good thing

Excellent video mate, love your honesty. Who cares if there’s loads of family touring content on TH-cam, don’t like it, scroll past it. That’s why they have menus in restaurants, we all have different tastes . Your family touring series was one of the best, so get out there and do another one will ya! 😂😂👍

I cop a lot of shit for being addicted - but I’d rather watch people havin a crack and enjoying life as opposed to married at first sight or some other reality crap on ‘normal tv’

I’m a tiav fan but a while ago he talked down people starting a channel .. he was saying it’s a lot of work etc but given the business they’ve developed (and good on them) I can’t see how they can talk it down
I will say the plugging of products and patreon can be annoying .. but hey you guys need to make money !

IMHO, Drones are one of the most intrusive out of anything else. I had on a number of occasions drones slow down or stop above my camp. You cant see who or where the operator is most of the time in the bush. I find it really invasive, its probably why no fly zones are popping up.

I watch the few that aren't there to just make money flogging stuff. Some have no personalities, and just go to all the tourist spots. Give me down to earth people with gear most people can afford.

As a viewer the choice is mine to make. As soon as someone starts being sponsored by all and sundry and trying to sell stuff constantly then usually my interest has gone and I move on. Too many become “look at us and what we have” sorts whilst trying to claim any old Joe can do it how they do it.

The travelling family’s are good viewing especially for people that aren’t able to do it themselves for varied reasons disabled etc it’s a chance to enjoy family experiences .
That’s why I watch your channel because you don’t tell bullshit you’re down to earth and your whole family. I grew up watching the Leland Brothers and things have changed since then. 😊

The problem for me is that there are plenty doing it but a lot just rehash the same content we've already seen. Nothing new, entertaining, a point of difference. . . . . And as such that hairdresser won't thrive but just survive. . . . . . . . .

Look, before covid the majority of families did a great job. It was natural, informative and respectful. Sadly those days are gone.
Since 2022 it’s either manufactured over the top “we are gods gift to caravaners it’s all about us” or total amateurs making posts that are too long of them just talking.
But what really disappoints me now is new trend of the shock headline grab. “Our caravan broke on the Gibb” then you watch the 35min post. It turned out to be 5 mins fixing a small crack water pipe fitting. Come on!
Yes it’s a huge market but some are good and some just grind your gears
So just pick your flavours!!!
For me , I am on holidays for relaxation and don’t want to work
But I enjoy watching some travellers

Market saturation is irrelevant I think. People are constantly waiting for new content. Having something to look back on in years to come IMO is worth the additional work. However, If your time is limited I would be seriously weighing up the options! 🙌
Well said, I often thought about the amount of people trying out their own TH-cam, I watch a lot of them and enjoy it. But I know it's a lot of hard work and time consuming for little or any reward. About time someone called their vehicle in the other gender 😆

Just give it a go and sure, you’re gonna start off shit but with anything, practice makes for improvement and you learn along the way (hopefully)! I’m still learning (Jez) and I’m still 💩 but I love doing it (and making videos 😉) 😆

If nothing else it’s a great way to store your memories, it’s no different than people I’ve seen on holiday with their head glued to their camera. They miss everything
