  • It's not easy to do but it really is quite simple, travelling oz as a young family in a caravan and 4x4 is one of the biggest expenses you will encounter in your life, we can't speak for anyone else, but this is how we achieved our life long ambition to see this great land as a young family.

    Great break down thanks.
Agree with everything you said it takes hard work, nothing in life is free. We have committed to taking off full time travelling April next year and can’t wait. We have brought a unit and are currently selling our big home. We couldn’t do the sell up and go as need that home to return to if we need. We will rent the unit but will always be there if we need it. We also are prepared to stop and work here and there if needed.
Love your channel and you definitely inspire us so thank you.

Well said and done, from a farmer who’s milked 41 Christmas days straight so we can travel now , sometimes you just have to be long pockets and short arms or win Tatts 😂😂👨🏻‍🌾🤙🏻

We've just spent 9 months on the road (unplanned). We were lucky! We sold our house off market, lost our jobs over the back end of the Vic covid stuff too.... So we just left!
We've also done a 3 month trip to the Cape over my ADF long service leave in 2016.
The differences were huge and if you wait for everything to be 100% before you go, you'll never leave!
Plan your build (vehicle and van), plan your trip (distances and vital stops), reverse engineer the fuel budget and add in 25% for park fees and inflation of fuel.
A wise man once said - a man can not cross the same river twice, it is not the same man or the same river.
Be prepared to be ruthless in the implementation of your dreams.
Do you need to keep your house or can you move once you return? Do you have to go back to your old job? Are you setting glass barriers in your visions?
PS - great video dude. Loved it!
PPS - I now delete anyone who goes on about their magical multilevel marketing online business that makes them free from civilisation.... MLM is great if you're at the top, that takes years! Stop trying to scam newbys!

Great video. We saved for our van, now saving for the big trip. We are leaving in December! Cannot wait. Agree with not selling the house, we bought 10 years ago, could not afford to buy in same area now so will rent it out. Unless we find somewhere we love and want to move.

Keeping it real, good stuff, just like your quick release brackets, they have really stood the test of time, while experiencing failures with brand names. Well done.

Lovely Ep Guys, I agree with you all our bigger trips away say a 3 to 4 month trip up Cape York, or a 4 month half Lap of Aus from Cooroy QLD to SA and up to Darwin and across the Gulf, it took us 2 to 4 years to save to get away, But for years now we just do the school holiday trips with out 4 kids say 2 to 4 weeks, that will change in a couple years though as our last one is in grade 10, I get away on a mates fishing trip once a year up north to for 4 to 6 weeks just fishing and Crabbing and relaxing, To do this my wife and I do not drink or smoke, and I service our 4wd and cars and tinnys and do 90% of the house maintenance, and we are lucky we own everything thats a big help I tell you,

Wow, you really scared me now, 2000 a week?! We have our lap planned starting in July of this year.. I thought the 1000 a week rule was I bit low so I budgetten around 1300pw. Would you say that's enough without having the cost of owning a house and all that comes with that (like insurance etc)? Ooh and great video by the way 😁. Cheers mate! 🤙🏼

Yeah mate, don’t stress it will vary greatly. But the cost of living has increased a fair bit over the last 2 years so over estimate and just go. Happy travels and thanks for the input 👍🏼
