- After 2 months of off and on working on this bike. Just decided to go back to stock minus the stage 2 (like the way I had it in Portland) and sure enough it runs fine now.
Anyways, got the bike up and running. A little lean but still can cruise around.
Love the look of this bike! That wide rear tire is awesome.
I would like to go down a few sizes to a 13x6-6 rear tire. Lighter weight tire, better efficiency, acceleration and stopping.
A lot of people liked this bike in Portland this year. No one suspected it to be just a everyday Coleman ct100u from Walmart. It’s so far gone from its original design. I did get asked a bit what kind of bike it is and people will look it up and say “no it’s not” and I’m like, “yes it is! Just no fenders or brackets”.
These little engines boogie. A lot of people refuse to accept them but I had a lot of fun with mine.
I was about admit defeat if this didn’t resolve the smoking problem and go to a GX160 route.
I do love the 79/99cc engines, just wished there was a better demand for parts for these little guys. A lot of these get tossed aside and the “small blocks” get fitted in immediately. Like Willy said, he got himself hurt with a 212 swap on it and I have too with a 196 swap. Heck, you know me. Still some how got roadrash with a 79cc.. still wore the helmet 🪖 👍 so everything’s all good.
@ElijahMiniBikes the gx160 is an absolute blast. Smallest displacement for "regular" parts.
@@fatbuddycatcorrect, that’s why. It’s the smallest displacement but still uses all the same parts as a 196/212 would use.
For another time, when I find another ct100u or similar frame. I’ll do a gx160 build.
That’s my favorite cooler on that bike. The 99cc is perfect for riding. Glad you figured out the smoking problem. My MM80 with the new 212 tried to kill me..😂 I crashed it in to a neighbor’s car. Thats going to be expensive. I should put the Briggs or my 79cc back on that frame. It was much more fun to ride before!
JEEZ!! are you okay? I’ve been almost hit by cars but never hit a car before. Many trees and fence poles, they just come outta no where I tell ya.
@@ElijahMiniBikesmessed up my left ankle and wrist. Gotta take it easy for a while.
I do plan on repainting it the same colors for next years Portland. It’s all scuffed and worn from probably over a thousand miles being put on it. I’ve had it for 3 and half years now. Can’t remember how many cheap chains I’ve gone through.
