- This video it's part of my series in academic music/contemporary classical music. This week we have an explanation of the spectralist school of music composition, I explain the quarter-tone and 8th tone system. I tried to be brief and simple as in the majority of my videos. This topic it´s very long so if you want to know more about it I have opened my zoom lessons! for any student. DM me on instagram:

bro you gotta improve the sound quality
I can understand the tonal and timbral aspects of this, but what drives the composition forwards? serial formalism?
Great explanation on the subject! Thanks for taking the time to make the video
Thank you! This is really interesting, and I really appreciate your thoughts at the end where you sort of talk about your opinions about it. Looking forward to seeing other ones :)
Thanks for the explanation, I just got introduced to spectralism through Julian Anderson, but I didn't really understand what it was based on before.
Very interesting channel! Nice concept with these video-series too, it's needed in TH-cam. I noticed som sort of fan making noice in the background, it's a bit distracting?
Thanks for the Support Erik! , i will continue this series, we have new complexity, simplicity, serialism, integral serialism on their way im editing them ! yes !! there its a noise, sorry about that!
i will make better editing next time :D
