Amazing Chronographs - Omega Speedmaster vs TAG Heuer Monaco

- With only 12 years apart two of the most legendary chronograph watches were introduced. In 1957 Omega introduced the Speedmaster which went to the moon in 1969. That same year Heuer together with Breitling and Hamilton managed to introduce the world's first mass produced automatic chronograph movements.

The Omega its not just a marketing issue that was the first watch on the moon...it was the only one that endured the best all the extreme tests that NASA performed to be First Watch On the Moon!.. lets give it the recognition and the historical significance that it deserve

I'm not usually a Tag fan, but the Monaco just exudes coolness. Speedys can be seen on wrists all the time... I tend to go for the ones that aren't seen on people's wrists.
I’ve seen more Monaco’s than speedies in the wild. Speedmasters tend to be worn by watch enthusiasts and Monaco’s by watch w#####rs

I rock my Monaco daily. The Omega is a fine instrument but honestly this one is kind of vanilla in the style department.

Speedy is one of the only truly iconic watches with a genuine back story. Cant compare these watches

The Monaco was one of the first automatic chronographs (or even the first, depending on your criteria) and the first waterproof square shaped watch. Even without the McQueen connection it does have a genuine back story. It is widely regarded as one of the few truly iconic watches because of this back story, its McQueen fame, its design and the historic significance of the brand. So yes, you can compare these watches. Personally I think the Speedy looks dull compared to the Monaco. But regardless of my opinion it is a very important and iconic watch. As is the Monaco. Your personal preference and mine do not detract from the objective significance of either of these watches.
