If Self Raising flour is not available, Plain Flour may be used by adding either 2 teaspoons of baking powder or 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar and 1 level teaspoon of bi-carb soda to this recipe. Still add the extra teaspoon of baking powder though. Note: the recipe says to knead for a minute but very gently, I only knead for about 10 seconds, until it just comes together.
As a pre diabetic with a BMI of 42 I endorse this and all of your recent videos.🎉 Seriously Fanny has all these ingredients in the pantry and only three days ago purchased a new sieve. I think the gods have spoken and they say'eth "Scone and a cup of tea." I cant argue with that. Thank you and god bless your baked offerings
I watched this video this arvo then went and made them lol. They were REALLY good. I used spelt flour (I don't use wheat flour) They turned out so light!!! Thanks for the recipe and tutorial I will try the dates scones next 😉
That's awesome, so light hey. The date scones are the opposite of light, but they are really tasty, and I think would be so wonderful with Spelt flour.
Funny growing up we always sifted the flour twice today I don't bother but I think I'll go back to the method mum used twice sifted 😊😊😊 makes better scones same rule we used for cakes

😇Nice. One of life's simple pleasures, a cuppa with a scone. I hope you enjoy them and thank you for your kind words. ❤
I like this recipe as it uses less butter and it’s so light 😌
Yeah, and you can pile the naughty stuff on top because of that 😉
@ yes I already use a lot of butter and cream on the top plus jam so less butter in the dough is so perfect 😊
