Love my Player Series Jazz! I’m a firm believer that the Player Series is the best bang for your buck out there.
Absolutely great value! I could also see how someone values the more classic aesthetic of the Vintera.. but you can't go wrong with a Players! Thanks for watching - Anthony
@@EmpireMusicPgh I always watch the bass stuff at Empire Music! Just wish they had a Vintera 70s Precision! Then again there’s the Nate Mendel signature model…
Cheers Anthony, I never miss a video of Empire Music
Came for the review, stayed for the playing! Subscribed!
Just got my Player Series Jazz. Played through quite a variety before choosing.
Love my Mexican Fenders.
Great Michael! Enjoy your new bass! Always exciting. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Excellent Anthony keep them coming cheers 🍺🍺
Thanks as always Paul! - Anthony
Love the comparison videos!!! I give the nod to the vintera 60s.
Thanks Don. Appreciate you watching as always! I think I do too - Anthony
I have a Vintera 70s bass and a player fretless j bass I like them both . I have many jazz basses they all sound different.
Great piece of playing Anthony! Not too much to choose between the two basses. Only real thing about the player series I don't like are cheap white pick guards.
It's hard to tell in some light, but they are Parchment, not white. If you put a white and a Parchment side by side, you would see a noticeable difference. Without the Glare of lights, they look quite cool.
Great line
Vintera J notable better tone , more solid focus than player J. Great comparation demo.
Great playing and demo. Before hearing what you said, I preferred the bridge pup on the player bass and the the tone of the vintnera wide open. I greatly prefer the looks of the burst finish on the player series. That would be my choice of the two.
Thanks for watching - Anthony
Great video (and nice playing) as always. Would it be possible to mix in (more of) the DI signal of the basses? I don't you how you guys record, but I guess it is mike only. I would like to hear more of the basses than just what comes out of the Rumble. May give the listeners a better impression of how they sound. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback Bert - We A/B'd both signals (and a blend of the two) a while back, and we actually preferred the Mic signal. We always revisit things though, and if we find the direct signal is better, we'll use it. It is also was a good representation of the bass in a room. The Rumbles, while not expensive are actually quite clean and transparent I find (I'm actually gigging the Rumble 500 head). Thanks so much for watching and commenting - Anthony
How about a comparison with a Fender Elite Jazz Bass compared to a Ultra Fender Jazz Bass 4 string. Love your videos from Sydney.
You play well, mate.
How about a shootout between the 60th Anniversary Road Worn Jazz and the Flea Jazz? Battle of the dual concentric knob jazz basses! Side note for the Flea Jazz, I don't see that you guys have a review of it on the channel.
You should do a player series vs CV series jazz and precision. I want a p bass and can’t decide between a fender player or squire CV 60s.
Damn that vintera kills the player series
Which neck profile is better? How do the necks differ? How do they compare to a USA model (Performer)?
thank you for the video. do you notice a quality difference in the wood used in both models? Especially in bodies. Or is there a difference just in pickups and hardware?
Not really in the wood, but the finishes are different. Pickups and hardware are more vintage-inspired, and that certainly makes a sound/feel difference. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Would live to see a versus with the ultra - perhaps vs Am Pro II or the Am Original
Great idea... definitely in the plans! Thanks for watching and for the feedback - Anthony

Would really like to see the squier classic vibe jazz in daphne blue compared to the vintera jazz in daphne blue if you have them in
Even if we don't have the colors, that video is in the plans for sure! Thanks for the feedback and for watching - Anthony
Vintera hands down
Those are great! I think I tend to lean that way as well. Thanks for watching as always - Anthony
Hi Empire, did you ever get any stock of the latest Made in Japan export Fender line? Hybrid series etc.
We don't get access to all of the MIJ stuff... I believe the last was the Boxer Series. You can always check out www.empiremusic.com to see our inventory. Thanks for watching! - Anthony
Watching this a year ago, I thought the Vintera sounded slightly better.
Now I think the Player does.
Perhaps I should take up painting...
I thought the same lol
Now do Squier vs the vintera pls
Definitely in the pipeline! Thanks for the suggestion - Anthony
One thing you should have mentioned is the Vintera is really old school; you don't have access to the truss rod without unbolting the neck like it was in the 60s. To me that's a red flag.
I got an american original 58 p bass yesterday, same thing plus reverse tuners lol. ABSOLUTE BEAUTY
Omg I’m
Soo glad I saw this comment before I ordered one…who wants to have to take the neck off to adjust it !! Not i
Liked the player on this - seemed like maybe the caps are different and the vintera was rolling off some bass? Maybe just YT compression
Nice observation! Thanks for watching - Anthony
I played the playerbin the store recently and the player is just super super bright sounding. Wasnt a fan of it, got myself an american original 58 p bass, suuuuper fat sound.
Super curious to see how the 75th anniversary Jazz bass slots in between these
Honestly... right in the middle, basically a hybrid of both! Thx for watching - Anthony

I've got the 75th P Bass.
❤️❤️❤️❤️🎵🎵

The Vintera has a richer sound. Player sounds more fragmented and cheaper.
I’ve had a few jazz basses in my career as a musician but a jazz bass always kinda sounded boring to me. In the mix with other instruments it can be a good sound but playing a jazz without instruments… it doesn’t do it for me…
It's always a personal thing... that's why I love bass and music in general. No right or wrong! Thanks for watching - Anthony

I used to be J Bass guy.
Now, I'm totally P Bass !
